Shit ref, shit VAR, cheating pricks. It was never a pen imo, but it's also one of those that no VAR is going to overturn because it's not clear and obvious. Thought the ref was decent aside from that, but a ridiculous decision at the end

Hahahaha fuck off you bunch of corrupt wankers Again I gently ask what people expected? This part of the world is a clear handicap to play in because you know the ref will play up to the home crowd. Next time give us a nice easy pot two side in Western Europe ffs 😂 The disallowed JJ goal was iffy too no? Thought assistant refs don't generally put their flags up til end of the phase? If she hadn't, then would have been a tight VAR call.

I'll take the result, impressed with Darlow, disappointed in Johnson, the pen is debatable.

Rodon has been superb tonight and Darlow has to start every game now 100% - Rodon brilliant at the back, Davies really good too. And yes, I think we have our No. 1.

I liked how organised the ball boys/girls were and how they were part of Turkey's game plan.
It wasn't totally different to our performance out in Turkey with Page including being under pressure, then getting frustrated and resorting to attempting worldie's and a dodgy penalty given then missed. Big difference being us having a bit more going forward, 11 v 11 and think we were a bit more with it defensively too.

Only saw 2nd half. Turkey the better team but we take the point. Look we had the ball in great positions but lacked the killer pass. Unbeaten under Bellamy.

I feel somewhat vindicated that the second half was Bellamy resorting to pragmatism and we tightened up . That’s a good sign for Wales in the long term that Bellamy isn’t wedded to his philosophy at all costs. Sometimes most managers have to dig in and grind a result out.
I do worry that Turkey could hVe won if they had to top the group but let’s take a positive result, regroup and take the positives from that and beat Iceland and see where the cards fall after that

Does anyone know why we had 2 keepers on the bench instead of Luke Harris, Charlie crew and Savage. Also was the keeper Harrington mentioned?

Well deserved point. Terrific defensive display. Lack of quality up front and midfield, but overall a heartening display. Think that sums it up nicely, we were playing a good side away there will no doubt be several changes v Iceland ,and it will be play off games now in March [unless Turkey lose the last game ] still fully agree with what Bellamy is trying to do, hope we get some goals at home to finish the group undefeated like to see koumas at 9 drop Brennan for the petulance

Ben Davies MOTM for me, with Rodon close behind. Darlow commanded his area well but his poor distribution was a big factor in the pressure exerted by Turkiye. I'm surprised Ward didn't start this one. It will be interesting to see who starts against Iceland.

Not saying it was onside, just thought it would have been dealt with differently in the Prem. Again my Welsh isn't up to it but did VAR actually look at the penalty?

The massive difference is that you’re comparing Bellamy, 4.5 games in and trying to establish a system, with Page ar the end of his tenure with no system in sight. In the big picture, nothing about this situation is “Page-esque”, other than Page was also a manager, and all managers have tough games. Page’s natural state was to dig in and in this second half, credit to Bellamy, he is also digging in. We are more compact and playing for a point and a mistake by the opposition. So say what you like but Bellamy has learned by force what Page learned a long time ago: that pragmatism has a time and a place for a team with players of the calibre of Wales Maybe, but at least Bellamy is learning and adapting right now, early on. Page never seemed to learn the opposite- when to be risky, when to try to impose yourself on a game. The whole “passing it around the 6 yard box” thing is a means to an end- it’s calculated and very effective when done well, and we’ve done that on occasion, but of course there’s a time to change it up. The fact is, under Bellamy were a hair’s breadth from easily topping the group, and we’re still unbeaten. There have been poor periods of play, and exhilarating periods too. In all but scoreline we thrashed Turkey at home, and of course we really should have held on the 2-0 lead over Iceland. Had the Turkey home scoreline reflected the performance, and if we had what we should against Iceland, we’d have easily won the group. Granted, on the flipside, the victories v Montenegro weren’t particularly convincing. The Iceland 2nd half can be perhaps blamed in part on Bellamy, but he did everything right v Turkey at home - all his system can do is create chances: a striker is no more/less likely to score a given shot whether he’s playing 3-4-3 tiki-taka or playing 8 at the back. And we created loads of chances, so the system did it’s job. As of tonight- 0-0 away v Turkey is a decent result for any nation. It was an exciting game, had a goal disallowed for a marginal (but correct) offside call, and hit the post (which obviously counts as off-target, for those who like to claim that shots on-target are the better efforts!)

Although JJ has a decent game and Sheehan had a good second half, we really missed Ampadu's composure tonight. Wilson had a poor game by his standards, as did Sorba and Brooks when he came on. Harris had one moment of quality that created the chance for Wilson. Johnson, James and Cullen didn't shine either. With so many offensive players off colour I'll take a gritty defensive performance every day.
Brave of Bellamy to bring JJ off and not to have DM alongside Sheehan. Why didn't he bring Allen on at that point? To be fair I don't think we suffered for it.

That shot against the post was a much better effort than a an easy save from a poor ‘on target’ shot.

You have no idea of Bellamy's philosophy because you make several assumptions that are entirely incorrect. If you listen to what Bellamy actually says you'd know that, but you don't appear to follow what goes on outside of this forum / the actual games. If you listen to Bellamy speak you'd hear him say that he has no interest in retaining posession for posession's sake, that everything we do is with a purpose - with the intention of ultimately leading to chances - and his preference is to do that with as few passes as possible. But equally, there's no point just lumping it long without purpose because we're doomed to fail playing that way. We saw in the Turkey home game that some of our best chances came from really direct football, but crucially we'd manipulated the opposition into those scenarios through previous phases of play - by beating their press by playing it out really well and then giving us overloads, Turkey then decided to push up even more, which allowed Ward to ping it over the top a couple of times to Sorba who managed to get in behind. You've just got this lazy assumption - 'oh Bellamy is one of these progressive managers who likes to play tippy tappy football' - but that's just your misunderstanding of what he's all about I'm afraid.

Totally insufferable until we turned it around and I grew up and then after 2016 success we get the Johnny come latelys trying to make a name for themselves by getting personal. Forgetting that we are on the same team. Honestly, it’s sad to think how combative things have become amongst the fans since we had some success. It was combative before but in the direction of the manager, never amongst the fanbase prior to getting the qualifying monkey off our backs. We have different opinions ffs, why all the triumphalism at the end of it?

Quetzal makes a good point that some of the newcomers to this forum have lowered the tone a bit and not for the better so that everyone feels like they have a dog in a race when ultimately we all surely want Wales to win and have different ideas how we get there? Let’s take a step back and chill and accept that Wales won a hard earned point away from home and live to fight another day. Honestly towards the end of the game in the pub I was in it all kicked off when someone chased a lad in and battered him in front of us. It wouldn’t have surprised me if it turned out that it was one one apostle taking offence at another at what Bellamy’s game plan would be. Chill the fuck out. It’s just football
