Two big missed opportunities not mentioned came firstly after 8:23 when had Harris passed first time Wilson was in on goal one-on-one in a central area. The second came from a fast break by Sorba on 30:48, when an early ball would have put Wilson in on goal again one-on-one. Those are the sort of chances we need to be more ruthless at taking.

Worth noting that the UEFA website shows that even though Turkiye had 28 attacks we had 12 - which tallies with my observations. We created a number of openings which we butchered, Wilson being the main culprit. Wilson, Johnson and Dan James had really poor games. Although he wasn't much involved Cullen delivered a couple of excellent through passes, which probably put him as the most efficient of our creators. We really need our better players to step up and show their quality on Tuesday.

Dan James was the biggest dissappointment for me, just because I saw him as the perfect player for Bellamy's system and was really excited to see how he'd do, but he was just completely ineffective.

He had an excellent opportunity to take on the full back with acres of space in behind but for some inexplicable reason chose not not to.

Simply put, it was a good result.

I was disappointed in Johnson, for me he has to offer more instead of always being on the periphery, whether that is when wide or centrally, and I agree about Dan James, also Wilson has to realise his right foot is not just for standing on.

Didn't think we played badly. Obviously not one for the history books but still seeing signs of a system coming together and the wider squad being utilised. Got to give Bellamy the benefit of the doubt at least give him a proper qualifying campaign before writing him off.

I think Johnson did a lot of good work defensively, and he was useful at times on the break in the second half when Cullen set him free a couple of times e.g. leading to that great ball which Brooks almost got to. To be fair to him, we just struggled to get him in that position often enough. I just don't think it's useful at all comparing Johnson with the likes of Bale with these hopes of him becoming our main man, because he's a very different type of player. He's not someone who can produce something out of nothing and grab the game by the scruff of the neck, and I don't think he'll ever be that player. He's not great at all in 1v1 situations. He relies on other players and the broader system to create space for him, and then he can be deadly in breaking, putting in great low balls, and he's a really good finisher when on form.

Got to give Bellamy the benefit of the doubt at least give him a proper qualifying campaign before writing him off. We were creating the same openings as in previous games only we weren't delivering the final ball (Harris and Sorba) to runs through the middle from Wilson, or we lacked the final ball or finish (Wilson in particular was off colour). If weren't creating chances I'd be worried, but we are, so I'm not.

We can't cope with big physical sides.

We can't cope with big physical sides. Well JJ and Ampadu in the middle again will help!
