We made Mexico drop out of the top ten, no wonder they were so fired up after going behind. Hopefully, we will do the same to France in June ;-)

To be consistently top 20 is a fantastic achievement. Not many "small" countries ahead of us. I place us 4th in the punching above our weight category, only behind; Denmark, Uruguay, Croatia

Yeah I think we all knew that being top 10 was a false position based purely on gaming the system, ironically by not playing games.
17th seems fair on current form and it’s an achievement to be impressed with when put into the context that there are 100+ countries in the rankings vs the size and available resources of Wales.
There’s a lot of be positive about at the moment. When Giggs first took over if you’d been told there would be qualification for 2020, promotion in the nations league and a WC play off more or less in the bag you’d have needed to be revived by smelling salts. Never mind 17th in the world. It’s quite a run of success at the moment. And to think people have still been complaining! 😂

I have almost taken for granted the fact that we are in the top 20 of world football, but none of us should really. It’s a true reflection of the generation of players we’ve had over the past 6 or 7 years. In that time we have barely lost a competitive fixture, I can only count 9 defeats since the start of qualification for Euro 2016 & only two of those ultimately cost us, Portugal & the Republic of Ireland.

Look at those teams below us, how many of those do you think would dispose of us easily? I don't think there's any, and all of these sides I feel we could take 4 points off if we were put in a home/away scenario with them. There's no doubt about it in my mind, we are where we are on merit.

I personally love that we’re top 20. I just feel we had our moment and don’t excitedly seek out the rankings or nervously calculate where we are. We’ve been top 10, we’ve been above England... they were unreal achievements for me but now I just get a feeling of ‘fair play lads’.
I’d get more excited seeing say Andorra sky rocket to the top 100 than seeing Wales move up 3 to 14th which makes me feel bad as a Wales fan. I’ve got more interest in seeing the Cymru Prem increase it’s coefficient because I know the National Team are doing well

Biggest drop, but still the 17th highest European side, it's what the top 20 who are pot 1 and 2? Essential we don't drop any further for World Cup qualifiers and end up in pot 3

We have to stop this slide, this current crop aren't good enough to get out of a World Cup qualifying group with two semi decent sides in. This is really starting to feel like the end is coming and another decade of dross. Years of building foundations seems like it's all doing to waste,"get tight, put your body on the line, er, yma o hyd" isn't enough, especially if we're not even getting tight and close enough to put bodies on the line. This time next year I don't want to have watched a Euros that we shouldn't have qualified for whilst sliding further and watching Republic of Ireland overtake us.

Pot 3 is the inevitable outcome unless we see improvement quickly. 13-24 UEFA will be pot 2, 12 groups. Plus nations league we wiIl be top speed in group. WCQ draw will be after the group phase of that.

Armenia home defeat will have hurt our rank a lot. To be honest, I also think that result will have a psychological impact on us. Our home form has been so good since 2014-15. The only sides who have beaten us at home since then are exclusively Pot 1 sides, with the only anomaly being the Ireland game
Losing to Armenia makes us look beatable, and will dent the players confidence too

It will put some nerves back into the fanbase too. We're in the beginning of a vicious circle having been in a virtuous circle for 8 years or so. We need to nip it in the bud but I'm not sure we have the tools to do that without bold thinking and Page and the FAW seem a bit bereft of that at the moment.

It all has the feeling of the FAW being rabbits in headlights and Page being a dead man walking. I think the FAW having given Page that CRAZY contract took their eyes off the ball and thought qualifying would be a given.

The only sides who have beaten us at home since then are exclusively Pot 1 sides, with the only anomaly being the Ireland game Losing to Armenia makes us look beatable, and will dent the players confidence too 100% man and I believe what kick started all of this was the Nations League. Now don't get me wrong, I love the Nations League and I enjoyed our experimental 6 games but what it did was bring a losing mentality and I say this because of things like the two late goals to lose at the death twice against Holland and the toothless 1-0 home defeat to Poland who admittedly stretched gamesmanship to the limit but still, we were starting to show signs of being a soft touch again. I'll be honest, one thing for me as a Wales fan which I have always wanted to shake off is that, in my head, we've never had a team that if we go a goal down I have much belief in us coming back. Euro 2016 against Belgium, when they scored I thought it was curtains. That was the best Wales side of my living memory and I honestly thought we were done. Right now if we concede I don't see anything other than a defeat and the results speak for themselves. We are on a truly disastrous run and it all started with the Nations League, losing, coming last became acceptable, "it's okay, we've qualified". I know we had a ridiculous schedule to navigate but it took an edge off us that we never got it back and I'm starting to think that unless something drastically changes it's only going to get worse and the thing with Wales is the worse things get the harder it is to come back from.

LoL it was the 2 Serbian + 1 Georgia matches that we conceded a goal after leading, and that Austrian fixture (2-2 after leading twice) that costed us. If we have won any of them, we could have ended up directly qualified. Instead, we would end up being the worst 2nd place and missing out on the playoffs if we end up 0-0 against Ireland. Thats why we had to attack and got punished by the irish

We’ll get a lot of ranking points for beating Croatia.
I expect us to be back inside the top 30 & almost certainly back above Scotland after they’ve been put back into their box by the big guns.
