Really good wins for Penybont and Haverfordwest -current table after Friday's games Venables gets a goal again just out of interest if there was a wildcard pick for Wales squad[they have to have at least 3 player from JD Prem] who would you go for? kircough Corey Shepherd got to go for Venables off the bench at 39

Any 3 from Connor Roberts,Nathan Wood,Sion Bradley,Corey Shephard.
TNS 11 points behind now,8 if they win at Briton Ferry today. Thats still quite a gap.Their the best side and might still win it but it will be a genuine race now and it might come south for the first time since 2008 when Llanelli won it.

Really is a lot more competitive this year! Great to see and hopefully there's a title race involving multiple clubs this season, could be a great thing for attendances If TNS win all their games in hand the league table would still look like this: Penybont - 26 TNS - 24 Haverfordwest - 21 Caernarfon - 20 Cardiff Met - 20

We are about a third of the way through the season so still early days, but it does look like we may have a title race here.
Caernarfon have defensive worries before they can get excited, Haverfordwest probably have goal scoring worries before getting excited but they have enough going the other way that makes me hopeful about them.

To be fair if we dropped them into the Cymru Prem we wouldn't enrich the league, the support would leave them from Everton/Liverpool/City/United. Support needs to grow organically with the league. I think some clubs do a decent job. TNS, Bala for example do amazing with such little support. I don't see them as the problem. Bangor/Rhyl need to up their game. I would love to revisit the days of proper Rhyl Bangor matches but the clue is in the the fact that we both carry a year at the end of our names. We both went bust, we have no money and without the folding stuff no team is ever going to be in a position to challenge TNS over a prolonged period. I understand they went bust. But if the fan support is a big thing in Wales TNS wouldn't be able to overcome it. Having 500+ more each game should be vital revenue but it isn't. TNS have found a model that works for Welsh football. Have someone who cares enough about the club with some money behind them. Fans are just a bonus. He hasn't really done anything wrong. Just took a massive gamble off his own back to make his club what it is. It's only frustrating because no one else can build a similar, or a completely different model that works better.

Penybont win to extend their lead at the top.
Caernarfon, Haverfordwest and Cardiff Met drop points.
TNS win.
Still not halfway, and won't be for four more games, but at the moment it looks like Haverfordwest need a striker to be competing for the title.

Struggling to work out who TNS' games in hand are against.
It's likely that they're back at the top after these but question is for how long.

TNS have this wrapped up again I think, 2 games in hand, 4 points behind and a superior goal difference which is only going to get bigger. Shame as I think we all wanted an exciting title race and thought their European commitments would hamper them but they've rode it out well and have pretty much caught up already.

Rhys Hughes with 2 cracking goals last weekend for CQN But Chris Venables has now got over 230 Premier league goals that is amazing, he still looks like he has that desire and bullies defenders with his power love to see Wales top the nations league get a couple of friendlies in March, and in a moment of pure nostalgia Bellamy gives him his one cap at 40...he wouldnt let us down by the way

In regard to Mike he's done nothing wrong. But TNS are one of the biggest obstacles the league has to face and one of the things that has held the league back for years. A team with no fans that runs away with the league and all the European prize money every year. Thats not an exciting prospect for potential supporters or investors in clubs. Lets hope the restructure can fix the league.

I would have thought the bigger issue with TNS's model is that it either relies solely on one man pumping money in, a constant stream of money from participating in UEFA competitions each season, or a mix of both.
If either or both of those things stop (e.g. he can't put the money in any more, or doesn't want to, or the UEFA money stops or they have an off season and don't get it) then aren't they in trouble? A business model that basically amounts to sugar-daddy ownership or winning the league every single season without fail isn't really sustainable is it?
Not a knock on Mike or TNS by the way. I'm also an ice hockey fan and the club I support went from no-hopers to being one of the biggest clubs in the second tier, with Great Britain internationals in the squad, almost overnight because a rich man came along and threw money at it. The minute he took his money away the whole thing quickly went up in smoke because we didn't have the off-ice infrastructure (fan base and sponsorship) to support it.

If TNS were to face serious competition year after year so that the were no longer assured of winning the league every season then you do wonder if TNS could be supported by Harris in the fallow years. Having said that there are other routes into the Conference League group stages, so perhaps that wouldn't be critical.
I would be surprised that the riches on offer from group stage qualification doesn't tempt rich business owners into taking over Cymru Premier clubs.
