Pulled out once due to his grandfather's death. I think we can give him the benefit of the doubt. Hargreaves, well I wasn't 'around' then, but I can't remember how he even qualified for us. welsh mum mate

Collison is the least of our worries. As he went through the Peterborough and then Cambridge youth system the guy in charge was Kit Carson. Kit is an Anglo-Irishman who is deeply proud of being Irish. He encouraged the players who went through the youth system to be likewise, plenty of players of that time at LR played representative football for the celtic nations even though by birth they could represent England. Simon Davies is another of the players who played for Posh and Wales, though obviously he wasn't going to play for any other country. I was talking to Kit at the end of last season and he mentioned Jack's operation and also arranged for Jack to sign an old Wales top which he sent on to me.
Long story short, Jack Collison is proud to represent Wales and will do so for some years if injuries allow.

Just a theory guys.
Is Flynn having a good laugh tonight?
Maybe Flynn wanted Bellend out as long as D Jones and Judas himself took the blame.
Bellend is so disruptive; the amount of clubs this guy has had proves this, mega talented player but only a championship team wants him.
A chance here for Churchy and co to shine without the spoilt brat barking orders and throwing his toys out of the pram everytime someone passes to someone else.

You might well be onto something there raptor. The younger forwards often look a bit intimdated playing alongside Bellars. Flynn has got every faith in them (even if most fans don't..)
The thing is- I am absolutely 100% positive that nobody wants to win these 2 games more than Flynn. The chances of landing his dream job pretty much depend on it. Strange as it might seem to most fans (and Bananaman) perhaps he feels we actually have a better chance of results in these games without Bellars?

A slightly different theory - we've seen Toshack driven crazy by player withdrawls. I just wonder whether Flynn has decided that he didn't want the double header to become about Bellamy - and will-he won't-he play. This way Flynn gets a settled squad for the whole 10 days together.
I'm not saying it's the correct decision to leave Bellamy out - and I'm worried about the precedent it sets for other players and future competitive matches - but maybe Flynn has decided to take a pragmatic view of this.

I don't know about you guys, but I can't see any positives about not having a player of Craig's calibre in the squad. Flynn has done a brave, some might say a foolish thing; time will tell.

These comments are spot on. Flynn will happily work with most of the lads he has brought through and they will surely give him 100% in return. Hopefully it will be good enough against Bulgaria & Switzerland but we will need a bit of luck as well.

good to see some support for flynnie(although the words 'clutching' and 'straws' spring to mind).much as i think after today that flynnies stock has dropped dramatically in the eyes of many welsh fans,i still hate to see him slagged off as he has done so much for us in the past. its still possible that he can get the job full time,i dont think that this alone will stop him getting the job and if the FAW dont give him the job for this one (albeit massive) farce it will be harsh and a few good results could yet redeem him. we all still need to get behind him and give him all the support we can give. COME ON FLYNNNIIIIEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! COME ON WALLLLLEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!

There might be an element of straw clutching involved, but I go back to what I said before, nobody wants us to win these 2 games more than Flynn. Perhaps he felt naming Bellamy in the squad and a subsequent club v country row would be more of a hindrance than a help? He's showing trust in the younger strikers- which Toshack didn't. Lets see if it has the desired effect.

I think more than anything, in the aforementioned interview, Flynn is proper pissed.
While I'm not happy about the 90 minutes of football Bellamy played today whilst we are being told he is not fit for his country, I hope Flynn does very well. I wouldn't want the hard work he has done with our youth set up to be undermined.
However, Flynn will have to realise that senior football has a far greater range of pressures than at youth level. The media scrutiny is far more intense, the competition is tougher and more cynical- and club managers are an absolute nightmare. Frankly, I think that provided he does nothing silly (like bringing back Savage) we could do rather well in the next 2 games.

Another interetsing thing here is that neither Earnshaw or HRK played yesterday- still injured I guess. If they dont make it, will FLynn want to go into a double header with only 3 fit strikers. I doubt it. So who's he going to call up? (that little guy who plays up front for Cardiff City looks a tidy player...)

He's not up to it. He can't stand up to Dave Jones nor Bellamy. It's disgraceful that Bellamy played yesterday and is not making himself available for Wales. I have never heard of this happening before for Wales, that a player pulls out because of injury then plays between the selection and the international matches. Flynn's interview about this show him floundering: news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/league_of_wales/9053486.stmIf Flynn thinks placating fans by talking to Robbie Savage will work, he's wrong. Flynn out in 2 weeks time - Chris Coleman please.

yer that's ridiculous, if we get 0 points i could understand this thread in 2 weeks. but give him a chance ffs!
also i agree with everything hes done. he's got danny collins back and maybe he's doing it on purpose to show bellamy up.

well, there we have a question. are we saying 4-6 points and the job is his? therefore 0 -3points and he's gone? or are we saying that the whole picture should be looked at?

Did you watch the film?
Flynn was weak and pathetic.
It's vital we have a manager who cannot be trampled on like he is being.

He's more than happy with the decision he came to with Dave Jones and he knew there was a good chance Bellamy would play yesterday?! He's got to be having a bloody laugh!!

The thing is, the whole Bellamy issue puts even more pressure on Flynn to get results in these games. So if he can, despite all the critisism, despite the accusations of weakness, despite being without our captain/best player (although Bale might argue with that!) gain 4-6 points in these games, you STILL wouldn't think he deserves the job?

I'm still backing Flynn even though he doesn't come out of the Bellamy situation very well but neither does Dave Jones or Bellamy himself.

Criticise Flynn after the two games if we get bad results. But every manager needs time to get accustomed to his squad, two games is no where near enough. What everyone is reading in the papers should be taken with a pinch of salt. If Toshack was given such a long reign with no progress, why shouldn't Flynn. From what I have seen with the progress of the youth squads under his charge, why wouldn't you want a man like him in charge of our national team. We should be behind him 100% because this is the man many supporters wanted in charge years ago.
Coleman as Wales manager, you have got to be kidding me.

So cutting him slack on these grounds would be too much. He knows exactly what he's got Even more reason why he should be able to motivate them more than anyone else we could bring in. If anyone is going to get a result without the likes of Bellamy its going to be Flynn. I reckon hes going to pleasantly surprise a few people.

Let's all remember why a few weeks ago Flynn had almost unanimous support on here to take the job. He's proven himself with some outstanding results with the under-21s, now let's give him his shout with the seniors. He definitely deserves it.
I don't agree with his willingness to let Bellamy stay at home for these two games. But let's back the man. The recent comments about Doble's call-up show a distinct lack of trust in someone who evidently knows a little bit about Welsh youth. If Flynn think's he's ready, that's good enough for me.
If, after the two games, we have been beaten and outplayed in both, perhaps we can call for someone else to be given the job full time. Until then, have a little faith, for crying out loud.

For those people who want us to play like Northern Ireland - you must be very happy. Huff and puff. A hundred and ten per cent. Headless chicken football. Completely shite. We played like Wrexham. If you employ a third division manager you are going to get a third division team. Brian Flynn - nice guy but....
