Still no sign of Huws, thought this was supposed to be his come back game? Looks like we can count him out next week. Sadly, a new injury. Don't think he will get called up ;-( Great news!

Emyr set to play today for U23 - HUGE WELCOME BACK ;-) Seeing that he was (foolishly, imo) dropped for the euros, will Cookie make amends and call him up next month? “He’s training well,” said Blues boss Mick McCarthy. “He’s feeling much better about himself and has just been caught smiling, so that’s a good sign! “He’s playing in the 23s [on Monday] and we’ll see after that. “We had to go down the conservative route (physiotherapy rather than surgery) and fingers crossed it’s worked. It will be great to have him back.” www.greenun24.co.uk/ipswich-town/huws-pencilled-in-for-under-23s-but-setback-for-adeyemi-1-5253608

He is now behind Brooks and Amapadu IMO

I do agree that he should have gone to the EUROs.

His old man was my GP and also used to turn out in the same team as me now and again, solid he was, never got injured! I'll have a word next time I see him to sort the boy out! I'm sure he could put his hands on some under the counter crepe bandage / anti-inflammatories / pain killers etc!!
I saw Emyr come on for Man City in a friendly in Abu Dhabi. I watched him warm up during the half-time interval - did more graft in that 15 minutes than half the prima donnas did in 90! (absolutely shite game BTW!). However, I invariably fear he'll become the Darren Anderton of Wales - 'Dad, any chance of a sicknote?!'
I was so disappointed for him that he got left out of the Euro's squad, my son tells me that he's a really nice lad, has time for everyone and hasn't forgotten where he's from. Sincerely hope that he has a good few seasons injury free and earns a good few caps for his country.

The ever elusive Emyr still not in the matchday squad for Ipswich today yet he makes the Wales one for next week. Still confusing the hell out of me that one.

I see your point, but feel that it will be a travesty for Emyr to miss out on France once again. Just like Bale, it will be great for morale and we are not limited to 23/24 - its a friendly, so we can take over as many as we like. Personally, I'd love Isgrove and Bradshaw to also be included in addition to Bale and Huws

Lee Evans certainly deserves a place in the squad ahead of Huws. Emyr hasnt played all season while Lee has been steadily improving over the last 3/4 seasons.
Edit: Evans just scored in the FA cup.

Still not sure what I make of Huws. I fear he's a bit of a OTJ i.e. good on the ball but doesn't impose himself enough. I'm not sure what his midfield role is. There was talk when he was with man city that he was modelling his game on Busquets, but I've heard since that he isn't a defensive minded player at all.

Of all our current injury prone players, Emyr must have the worst record. And that's saying something. Terrible news and only confirms for me that we're not likely to see the player that he could have been. The writing was on the wall when Cardiff seemed to want to get there money back on him soon after signing him. He does have a very strange body shape and playing/running style. I wonder if this has but odd strains on his body?
But let's hope he can get over all this and make a healthy comeback.
