Gutted for him, hope he gets back to fitness for next season. Very very talented boy but much like Jonny Williams, I doubt we will get to see a lot of him.

He tore his cartilage (a complex tear of his lateral meniscus) at Middlesbrough and had to have an operation, this after missing a few months with an Achilles injury. Gutted for him.

Recovering out in Quatar. www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/33751 Huws, who underwent a minor knee operation at the start of last month following more serious surgery earlier in December having suffered the injury at Middlesbrough, is coming to the end of his stint at Aspetar. “I spoke to my two team-mates who have visited before and they spoke very highly of the place,” the Wales international, who made three starts and two sub appearances for Town last season, added.
“The quality of staff is really good and the facilities are second to none. "It’s very difficult to get everything under one roof in terms of services offered and I don’t know of any other facility that has that like Aspetar does.
“My objective now is getting my knee strong and becoming fully fit to play as many games as I can next season.
“I want to play good consistent football and help the team challenge for the play-offs and then I hope to play for the Wales national team again, when I’m back to full fitness.”

Worryingly hasn't had a full pre season again, it's not looking good for Emyr. Can't see him getting in any Wales squads any time soon.

Worryingly hasn't had a full pre season again, it's not looking good for Emyr. Can't see him getting in any Wales squads any time soon. I had the impression from the TWTD that they are totally optimistic and purposely easing him into things. I'd much rather they took there time and have a 100% Huws after Xmas than have a 70% Huws now

That is one serious tan ;-)
Great to see him back, albeit for 45 minutes.
"He hasn’t played since suffering a knee injury at Middlesbrough in December, but performed well in his comeback game.
Clearly short of full fitness, which is to be expected following knee surgery, the Welshman got up and down the pitch well and was a calming influence in a young side before being replaced at the break.
He switched play continually and was happy to put his body on the line in tough tackles and aerial battles, while clearly playing with the handbrake on.
Huws can be a major player for the Blues, but there’s no need to rush him."

Emyr Huws played in a behind closed doors U23s game a couple of weeks ago. (so not his first game back)

Has been out for 13 months. I hope this is the actual come-back, after his set back in September. Massive boost for Ipswich as well as for his mate Gwion ;-)

Still no appearance for Emyr this season.
We could do with him for Wales as a central option!

I'm afraid that ship has sailed similar to Johnny Wiiliams and Jack Collison before them
He is 25 and still not played 100 games at club level. Managed 3 games since re joining Ipswich who will be in league 1 next season.
Another player over rated on here but another who i hope can get fit and stay fit so he can have as good a career as possible.
Cant see him playing much for Wales in the future unfortunately

Hopefully, back to stay, after two or three set backs. Hasn't played senior football since December 2017 ;-( 'Form is temporary, class is permanent' ;-))
GOOD LUCK, EMYR.
EDIT Played 61' and they won 3-1

Further great news about our Emyr ;-) "Pre-season has had some good news with Emyr Huws having played throughout and having managed a first-team 90 minutes for the first time since the final day of 2016/17. “He’s doing really well, Emyr,” Lambert added. “That’s a long time not playing 90 minutes, a helluva long time. But he’s doing really, really well. The secret is to keep him fit but the lad is in a good place at the minute. “He’s a really good footballer, really good, just needs that game, game, that game scenario for himself. “I don’t know [if he’s ready to start], we’ll decide. But he’s done really well in pre-season, I’m happy with him." www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/36394/lambert-ive-never-gone-into-a-season-with-so-many-injuries

Such a shame, I thought he'd become a regular midfielder for us by now. Career ruined by injuries. Still only 25, so has time on his hands to become an useful player for us.
Still remember that net busting header he scored against the Dutch a few years back, quality.

To be fair I thought Jonny might be done at international level as little as a year ago and the turnaround there has been great to see. Slightly different with Emyr as he's never established himself at senior level, but I do think all it takes is the right move and a spell without injuries and I'm sure he will be at least a Championship level midfielder.
