If he stays fit he has a great chance of forcing his way into the squad. Here are a few comments from Ipswich fans about his performance today:
“Flynn Downes is spot on when he called him a beast last week, absolutely outstanding today and bossed the game. Like a new £3million quid signing. Fingers crossed he can keep fit as he will just get better and better. Big, strong and a fantastic football brain.”
“ Absolutely oozes class.”
“ Both he and Keane are far too good for League 1”
“ He’s got a cracking pedigree and big things we’re expected of him when he was younger. That didn’t work out, but if he can keep fit he’s a player who would could grow with us all the way into the PL (if by any fluke we could get there).
Great for Flynn too, to have someone like that to learn from.”

If we had him in the Euro 2016 squad - we would have won the thing! A travesty that he wasn't selected then - and can certainly see him in our 23 - maybe even a starter, come June ;-)

Went off injured tonight unfortunately. Hopefully not too serious.

Went off injured tonight unfortunately. Hopefully not too serious. That would be a massive blow to him as well as to us ;-(
On a more positive note, this is what Paul Lambert said about his earlier today:
“Emyr has been fantastic for us, having played game after game now over the last four or five weeks,” the Town boss told the Club website.
“His left foot gives you balance in the team; he very rarely gives the ball away and he does the simple things brilliantly. The hardest pass is the simple one because no one wants to play it but he has it down to a fine art.
“It must have been very frustrating for him because of the injuries and this was always going to be a big year for him but he has been superb. He’s a very clever player, a terrific footballer. I thought that when I first saw him play for Manchester City years ago and he’s showing that for us now.”

Emyr and Gwion both had the full 90' tonight v. Fulham.
They both looked good in the first half - pressing really well and tracking back.
Felt that Emyr drifted out of the game, especially as the majority of the Fulham attacks were from the full backs / flanks.
Gwion showed a few great moments of sheer class. Could/Should have scored in the final minute.
Great that they both seems fully fit ;-)

A great chance to see master Emyr today in the FA Cup ... Yes. I'm looking at you Mr Page ;-)
Gwion on the bench, but I'm sure he'll be soon enough, as they are already down 0-2 after 12'...
EDIT
Only positive I can take from this game about Huws is that he played 102' ... Nowhere near back to his controlling skills he showed back in January/February.
On the more positive side, when Gwion came on, he did show great skills, pace and trickery. Gwion had a few great chances as well, which he should have done better with. Overall, inconsistent, as he can also lose the ball very cheaply.
Harrison came on as well and did well to inject much needed urgency into P'mouth's game.

Newport County? Josh Sheehan's out of contract and will probably leave this summer so they'll need a replacement.

On trial with Doncaster.
We could really do with Emyr finding fitness, he'd slot right into our side. Seems unlikely this late in his career though but you never know.

If he's joining Colchester surely Newport or Wrexham could be in with a chance.

Sad to hear of Emyr Huws' retirement. So many of our most talented midfielders have had their careers curtailed or severely compromised. Simon Davies, Huws, Ramsey, Allen, Jonny Williams, Mathew Jones, Jack Collison. I'm sure I've missed a few. It really feels like we've been cursed.
All the best to Huws in his retirement, perhaps a career in coaching awaits.

I really thought he was going to step into the Ledley role and take it to new heights. Shame it didn't work out for him, he was quality when he played for us.

When he played against Iceland at Cardiff City stadium in 2014 before wed qualified for 3 major tournaments out of 4 I remember thinking we had some more talent to join the like of Ramsey, Bale, Allen, Williams, ledley, Davies chester etc.
He scored some worldies in his career!!
