emyr%20huws%20birmingham%20city%20loan%20w....ashx (249.01 KB) Starting to look the absolute business. 3 games for Birmingham City, 3 man of the match performances against the best sides in the Championship in 2 games at least. I expect him to be a regular in the City midfield next season. Not that anybody seems to be noticing, outside this forum at least.

So he's something of a dead ball specialist is he? Makes him even more useful. 3 MOMs in a row in the championship while Andy King is now a bench warmer at Leicester. Defo time to call him up for seniors...

I believe that Huws will become a massive player for Wales and feel Cardiff and Swansea both missed a trick in not taking him on loan.
However, I would like to see him play for the U21s against England along with Declan John and Jon Williams. This will be a more competitive game for them and they will learn more from it than half hour in a friendly. It will also help raise their profile no end were they to have a good game.
Out of the uncapped players I would like to see Dummett given a run out as he is too olf for the u21s I think, it will also be a test of his commitment.
If Huws and Williams become what we hope and Harry Wilson develops we will have some midfield for years to come
Bale Allen Ramsey Huws Williams Wilson
Not forgetting players like Ledley and Vaughan etc who we know can do a decent job

"We had some great set-play deliveries from the best player on the pitch by a million miles, Emyr Huws, the stand-out performer and we had some terrific situations from his set-plays but we played too much tippy-tappy football at the back and not getting the ball forward and playing in Watford's half."
Quote from Lee Clark after last night's game

From the Birmingham City website today. Lee Clark on the quality Emyr Huws has brought to the side: "I knew he was a talented player, but in the three games he's played he's been outstanding and was the standout player at Vicarage Road on Tuesday. When I talked to the people at Manchester City, they felt that he had a massive future at their football club and the games he's had for us will only enhance that reputation....."

View AttachmentLee Clark's view of Emyr Huws from today's Birmingham Mail. See he got MOM again away at the Valley on Saturday. If FAW are serious about the England game then play Jon Williams, Ben Davies and Emyr Huws. Otherwise stop messing about and give him his first cap. My previous response may have misunderstood your posting? But certainly I would also play Ben Davies in the u21s also. Remember the boost to Welsh Football the last time the u21s put out a strong team against England. Yes, they were not competing the same night as the senior side but the point remains. Which game was this Toshfan?

This one: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pki069juAH8Yes, it was a draw and yes we lost over two legs but there is no doubt it was a boost that for once (i) we were competitive at an u21 level and (ii) Wales had an exciting future.

Huws has extended his loan until the end of the season, good news I think Definitely - he now has the chance to show what he can do on a football pitch, as opposed to a training pitch at City.

Lee Clark s comments on Emyr Huws after Birmingham City s 2-1 win over Blackpool yesterday
" Class act, absolute class act. He's so good it's untrue."
"He probably had his most indifferent game for us last week but he was still a 7 out of 10. The rest of the time he's an 8 or a 9.He's a top,top player."

Sounds like he needs to be groomed to start the Euro campaign. If he can dominate at Championship level then thats good enough for me, in a holding position too where we are not blessed with riches. Not sure whether he is that sort of player (sounds like he could be) but if he can protect our back four it may help to alleviate the fact that we are so weak in terms of central defensive options.
It all seems to be coming together at the right time, just need a striker to appear from somewhere...

He has to play against Iceland.
With the euro group in our sights I'm afraid the u21s can whistle.

He has to play against Iceland. With the euro group in our sights I'm afraid the u21s can whistle. They can whistle even if 90 minutes of a competitive game is better for him? Or the u21s can whistle like they used to prior to Toshack taking over? There is a legitimate argument that Huws should be with the senior team, even though I take the contrary position, but how much game time do you expect him to get for the senior team?

Our first eleven needs all the practice it can get. Huws, Joniesta and Davies should allo play 90 minutes against Iceland.
Hennessey
Taylor (RB) Williams Collins Davies (LB)
Allen Huws
Joniesta Ramsey Bale
Vokes

The boy deserves the recognition of a senior welsh cap. How has it taken this long? We have been giving out caps to 16 year olds, for God's sake, and we are starting to look a bit ridiculous by not promoting such an outstanding home-grown talent. What more does the boy have to do when you consider he has been given a debut by no less than Manuel Pellegrini and Lee Clarke at Birmingham City sings his praises every week. I like to see the U21s doing well like everybody else, but let's get real.

Clearly, we've got a player here. Lee Clark really doesn't seem prone to going over the top - so I'll take his word for it.
I back the u21s, but clearly we need him getting used to the senior players.

Ramsey wont be playing - injured Ramsey has been warm weather training in abu dhabi and has returned recently. He has a return target of chelsea on 20 mar. The bayern 2nd leg is 11 mar. Wenger may release him for the wales game to get his match sharpness up.

A Supremely talented 16 year old who deserved his cap given his excellent stand-out performances for our younger representative teams & Liverpool. Huws may deserve a cap now but when I saw him play for the under 21's he was hardly an outstanding stand out home grown talent ( but fair play the others were no better)

Emyr Huws is a target for Tottenham this summer
I think it would fit perfectly in Tottenham, but ... he would have chances of playing regularly in the first team?
What do you think?

All reports say he's highly rated at City. They want to bring some 'homegrown' players through. I can see him getting chances at City next season if he does well in pre-season. They won'T sell to Spurs in the summer.

Really hope he gets some decent game time next Wednesday so we can all get a really good look at him. Really excited about him and hope he is the player Clark, Peligranny and others say he is.
