Both BAle and Ramsey went through injury related sticky spells and came out the other side stronger. Joniesta can do the same.
His performance against Macedonia summed up his positives and negatives for me. Postive in that he looked like the best player on the park and oozed sheer class. Negative in that their players were basically able to kick him to pieces and force him off the park, without any of them getting sent off. He reminds me a bit of Andy Murray at a similar age. YOu can see he's got the tools in his locker to get to the very top, but strength, fitness and conditioning needs to improve to get there.

I thought he grew into the game as it went on and was pretty good in possesion, think he was thinking of his goal celebration when he blazed over, but all in all a decent debut.
Not sure he will start in the first lot of qualifiers as I believe he needs a bit more experience but come 2015/16 think he will be a permanent fixture

He should start.
what a difference in composure and stamina in comparison to Crofts and Vaughan respectively - he is physically imposing and comfortable with both feet and imo its his position now.

I would have him ahead of Crofts and Vaughan already, not sure whether I would have him above Ledley, will probably depend on who is playing and on form
Given injuries and suspensions we will need both and his emergence is a massive boost.

If I was Ledley I'd be worried. Huws looked very composed and much more mobile. Ledley is a leader though and is a decent option on the bench or to start away from home when we need to be more compact.
What helped him was that he appeared to be more advanced in they second half with King tucking in more. If this was actually the case then a gold star to Coleman for making the switch because it pressured Iceland and forced them to play more on the break and Taylor, HRK and, obviously, Bale picked them off

This boy is in the Ramsey/Bale class at the very least. He didn't have maximum impact last night because he's been developed at Manchester City and used to those calibre of players around him. He's a complete and intelligent football athlete, the next generation. like Bale. Enjoy him, he's the future.

He may be one as good as those two (bale and ramsey) one day yes but lets not get ahead of ourselves. For now he is good enough to play in that holding midfielder role, a position that for all our good midfielders, we havent quite filled.

"This boy is in the Ramsey/Bale class at the very least."
THE VERY LEAST?!!
Hope you're right, but a little early to be saying that I would have thought.
I suspect he'll be behind Ledley in Coleman's thinking unless he starts playing Premiership games soon. Coleman seems to favour experience - ie Gunter rather than Matthews at RB - and Ledley's got plenty of that.

A very good debut. The boy looks very assured- a proper footballer.
I'd still have Ledley ahead of him in the midfield when everyone's fit though. Ledley's experience (50+ Wales caps and 3 seasons in the champions league) and his onfield relationship with Ramsey (which stretches back to their Cardiff days) shouldn't be discounted.
Huws will almost certainly be a first choice pick after 2016 though.

We've not had a player as good as Huws in this role for a long time. He should start in the Euros but needs more experience against Holland away to build on this start - that's a decent test for him - I think he'd come through it very well.

I think you need to get real at present the lad has played half a dozen championship games and I think it will be a while until he becomes a permanent fixture in the team You must also realise he will never have the same number of quality players like at Man City, can't think of many international teams that do. Good debut but for me come September Ledley, Allen and Ramsey will be the central 3, Bale on one flank and one of 3-4 players on the other

my worry is that he goes back to Man City and doesn't play at all. It'll be hard for Coleman to know what kind of form he's in then. But if he breaks through at City at the start of the season, then he probably will be first choice.

Can't see him being first choice at City next season, a lot will depend on whether he prefers Milner & Rodwell as the main back up, or he might sign another £40m player.
If he isn't going to play then a season long loan in the premiership would be the way to go

Huws starts for us in the qualifiers - he is simply a better footballer (technically, athletically, positionally) than Ledley, experience or not.
He will be in contention for the match day squad for City next season and will play in the cups.

Totally agree. Followed the Huws bandwagon from the start. Liked what I saw last night and the more he plays for Wales the more he will get used to his teammates and grow in stature. Be interesting to see how he performs with Ramsey in the side. Ledley has to step up to keep his place in the team.

Talking of Huws' stature, at 6' 1" he can help to offset the diminutive stature of the likes of Allen and Joniesta, especially when defending set pieces.

Surprising isn't it? I only cottoned on when I saw the standard photo taken before the match where he's stood next to Hennessey, and only slightly shorter. His slight frame belies his stature. He's officially listed at 1.85 m, which rounds up to 6'1".

It's so refreshing to have such a good prospects like Huws coming through these days. Makes a change from all those years ago having to call up fringe Welsh players such as Stock, Dorman, Oster, Johnson etc.

Watched him warm up a few feet away from me on the sidelines in Bangor v Finland last year. Has the same type of athletic frame too, he'll probably end up a similarly strong lad within a couple of years.

Carrick is a very good player. His problem is that he is the victim of England's obsession with Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard. If Huws can turn out as good we've got a hell of a player on our hands

We're talking about someone who's won 5 premier league titles and a European Cup after all. www.theguardian.com/football/2013/apr/26/arsene-wenger-michael-carrick-van-persie
