No.
Former Man Ure youth team capt, then Oxford.
Career drifting until joining us and he has done very well here.
He's small and all left foot but keeps possesion well, technically good and an eye for goal.
Picks out runners very well from centre midfield.

Come on then raptor, indulge us!
Why such a good start to the season?
Will they last the distance?
Any young Welsh players to look out for? (this lad Evans been playing in midfield?)

Think they've had investment and cleared out alot of the old sqaud and brought in some new players. They have also changed grounds so now playing in Rodney Parade. Think spytty park was not the best. Suppose it all makes a difference.

County won't win the title. I think its Luton's this season. Play-offs would be a very good finish and I think that's where county will end up and then anything could happen. The move to Rodney parade has made a big difference, the pitch at Spytty made it impossible to play the way Justin Edinburgh wanted to and its in a great location. Its vital county are successful this season to stay there. I read somewhere 2k+ is needed every home game to stay.

We're very unlikely to win the title and gain automatic promotion, the first XI are decent and worth perhaps second to fifth place and a play off spot. However we've seen with Wales over just ten group games a first XI isn't enough, you need a squad. The official announcement is that we need 1800 to break even, we had 3022 yesterday. Although this figure (1800) might be smaller than what the real figure is as people behind the scenes are probably eager to downplay spending in order to keep wage demands down. I fancy Luton too but they were sh!t against a poor Hyde team on Friday night on Premier Sports channel. They won though! Edinburgh knows what is needed in this lge but although there has been some extra spending in the budget this was done pre the lottery millionaire joining the board and under the old chairman (we only had two directors then including the chairman). I daresay there was more underplaying of what the club were willing to spend on wages. We currently have two directors and an acting chairman. The acting chairman is only short term as you might think and has no weaslth, one director I know nothing of, the other won £46M on the lottery and appears an unassuming man who reputedly has always followed us. There's an AGM on Monday 20th I think when the constitution of the club is changed to allow unlimited shares to be purchased in the club. It has been reported that a number of rich local men are coming in. One of which is successful businessman M Southall who is a die hard supporter (owns Acorn). Modest investment is expected if this happens; well modest by Cardiff or Swansea terms! One director has possibly £46M on the hip, another is a millionaire many times over, the other are reported to be millionaires. Means absolutely nothing unless they put their hands in their pockets, it's their money not the clubs! A big success moving to RP so far, time will tell on this but I dont expect to stay there as the rugby takes too much out of matchday spending by fans. A few scenarios could develop out of this but I aint complaining. Lee Evans looks decent what I've seen of him and the local rag reporter thinks he's destined for Wales and the Prem. A bit of a silly comment to be honest at this point of his career. If I've read between the lines correctly I expect some investment in the playing squad in the January transfer window if the club are there or thereabouts in the lge. Who knows, great start, positive vibes, some good football at times but this is Newport County we're talking about

Knocked Cardiff on the head this season due to the rebranding. Hoping to head to Rodney Parade a couple of times instead. Looking forward to it to be honest.

You're more than welcome to come down mate; I envisaged a few City fans might be annoyed and come and watch the County instead. I remember in the eighties when we had Linden Jones, Tarki Micallef and John Lewis from you in exchange for Karl Elsey and Nigel Vaughan that a few City fans also came down to us in protest, although I doubt they stayed for long. I don't blame you either, this red business has got everyone laughing at City but it's very sad really. Football isn't the same as it used to be with nonsense like this going on. One thing you will appreciate is the Hazzell Terrace, it's a right 70's/80's throwback. None of this concrete bowl no atmosphere sitting down nonsense on the terrace! Even Spytty Park had a decent terrace/shed. Give me a shout if you fancy a pint.

Hard to tell really, he's quite robust in the challenge, wont be lacking there but it's difficult to measure his quality against our current U21's tbh. The Conference is definitely a man's league, you're allowed to go in harder etc. He's holding his own at the very least. Would be good for the County as well as Evans as all the local talent has been siphoned off by the Brizzle lot and Cardiff since I can't remember when.

Braintree away on Saturday followed by Hereford home on the Tuesday night.
Braintree are no mugs and I'll take a nil - nil now.
If we did win against Braintree the Hereford game will be mahoosive! Well it'll be big in comparison to what we used to if you know what I mean.
A good game for any disillusioned City fans to come too. Both us and the Bulls are unbeaten at present too.

He owned a black Ford Capri and took me to City training a few times and my old fella had free tickets off him from time to time. More importantly he got an order to supply the club shop. Lovely man

Decent fightback to take 3 pts at Braintree.
Classic football match at RP tonight, all terraces and singing. Back to the 80's not a soulless concrete bowl of a ground in sight; envious?
Hereford were good but we beat them and two wonder goals to boot.
Wrecsam next up and no doubt their midfield might prove our undoing, one can only hope.

Despite not supporting either team, I quite enjoyed myself last night. RP makes for a decent football ground.

Delighted to see well over 4k crowd at Newport last night, and another 3 points. Hope they, and Wrexham go up this year.
There were great euro nights at Newport in days gone by, and it's great to see the further development of the club after their previous financial difficulties, another successful club, and another academy bringing through talent can only be good.

RP has made a massive difference Rhys, the terrace creates a good atmosphere with only a few on it. I don't think you'll see a better Conference game than that for a while, both sides could easily cope with Lge 2, as could a lot of other Conference sides. I think there's at least 10 clubs in Lge 2 who would not cope in the Conference and they just rely on others being more sh!t than them.

I noticed this got posted on a Bristol Rovers forum: www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=NeGLKSPXvrE#! Seems you have got quite a Rovers influence at Newport at the moment, Andy Sandell plays for you- good pro during some dark times at our place, always put the effort in when others couldn't be bothered. Hope he does well for you. On the other hand you have Jefferson Louis up front! Absolutely terrible player, didn't cover himself in glory during his short time with us and I'm surprised to see him in a team at the top of the conference. Although that miss where he hit the post from a yard out was entirely in character with his ability. Its a feather in your cap that you have hit the top of the league with him involved! The lad who missed the penalty for Hereford was also with Rovers about a year ago

He was a bit of a cult hero at Wrexham. Despite his limitations he scored quite a few goals for us and I think most fans were disappointed when he left.

Big Jeff is far from rubbish. He will fluff chances but is strength is softening up the opposition, something you need big time lower down the leagues.
Disappointing to lose to Wrexham but hey it's Wrexham, they got 98 pts last season and are beginning to warm up for another challenge this year.

Ok after watching Evans for a few games now I can say he's decent and could well play Championship football at least. Has superb strength and is beginning to bundle some big ugly conference hoofers off the ball with ease. If he dont make the u21's then there's no justice and he'll probably move in the next window. Too good for us. Not sure if he's only 17 or 18!
