He was fantastic last night I thought, and won us the penalty of course. Very hard grafter.

It was, I especially liked the breakaway run through (nearly) 4 Serbs midway through the 2nd half to ease the pressure resulting in a Welsh throw in Serb territory.
He was on his arse after that, never seen him run that quick, Ramsey and Allen were both laughing as well when he was hunched over catching his breath!

I'd actually have him to start ahead of HRK in that he is actually a natural centre forward and Kanu doesn't offer that kind of physical threat in the box. I'm going to go out on a limb here though and say that was a soft penalty in the sense that 9 and a half times out of 10 those aren't give by refs.

He looked allot more mobile than I've seen him (ever) before, but I doubt that he can play the 'HRK role' i.e. creating space for Bale and Ramsey for more than 60 minutes. So if you wanted to start with him, I'd say that we would have to change the system a little to accommodate him.

You won't get a more blatant shirt pull than that. You often get a brief tug before letting go, but in this case he held on and clearly impeded Vokes' jump. A nailed on 100% penalty.

He actually looked like a guy who's premiership worthy last night. Maybe he's in his prime

He was great in Belgrade and has put in many a good shift over the course of those 50 caps. Congratulations on the milestone Sam.

Vokes scored versus Chelsea! Not once but TWICE! MOM on Sky Sport and rating 9/10 ;-) "Sam Vokes' two goals showed what a danger he can be inside the box. His first, a flick as the ball came in slightly behind him, showed great improvisation, and though his second was bread and butter for any striker, his all-round work rate was superb. He won 12 aerial duels as David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger were treated to a rough afternoon, and also won three fouls for Burnley having held the ball up well. [...] has netted seven goals in his last six Premier League games, after managing just five in his previous 58." Might be worth watching MOTD tonight, especially as I still haven't seen the Rambo show from yesterday ...

Vokes off the bench to score today. With HRK gone awol, he’s still our first choice no 9 so could a move to a champ club for more regular football be good for us? Can’t see him leaving Burnley just yet mind.

But agree he needs games.

Think Sam could do with a move as he isn't going to get a lot of games.
Maybe a promoted team or Bournmouth where he has a history. If not a championship team looking for promotion

If not a championship team looking for promotion I really think he should stay in the Premier League, you can see how effective he has been for Burnley. Granted he doesnt get as much game time as he should, but, even dropping to a Bournemouth as you say, or dare is say Cardiff. May be a good move.

I don`t see Sam as a player who will hold down a regular Prem berth or improve his touch and all round game it would be better for him to move even it is to a championship team if it means he will be a regular, something that will help him for Wales in my opinion. Money talks and he will stay with Burnley if he is allowed to but he needs to play more.

Sam has just done a Hal and scoring a cracker ;-) Rescuing them after coming on at 65 minutes. Aberdeen are no Belgium, but he definitely made a difference when coming on
Here she is, a true beauty!

Just watched that Sam Vokes goal. What a beauty. He was very quick to score that while caught between the two opposition players. Very Eriksen-esque. Hope he continues this form in the Euro League Nations.

He's doing a really good job as their super sub having scored regularly for them after coming off the bench in these last few months. Hopefully we can develop a more dynamic forward line (possibly with bale, lawrence or in years to come Roberts in the centre) and use vokes for the same effect.

Vokes has been linked with a move to West Brom...if this happens it will leave us with a grand total of zero premiership strikers.

Did anyone notice if Giggs was at the match? Vokes did a lot of very decent defending. Only had one chance at the other end, but took it well, and scored. If Bale isn't playing, then Vokes surely should start for us?

Was disappointed that he didn't feature. Did anyone notice if Giggs was at the match? Vokes did a lot of very decent defending. Only had one chance at the other end, but took it well, and scored. If Bale isn't playing, then Vokes surely should start for us? Vokes took his chance well, but was poor overall. One of the commentators went on about how morrisson had dominated him in the aerial battles all game, and i have to say I agree.
