I think if we don’t beat Croatia, Page gets fired the next day. Noel Mooney talking about ‘budgeted for qualification’. He doesn’t get the play offs. Straight out! Another way to look at the 'budgeted for qualification' comment is that they have already spent money based on an expected huge income boost coming in the summer of next year. If we don't qualify, can the FAW even afford to sack Page?

Wow I’m actually quite impressed they’ve come forward with a big name. That’s more inspiring that any other names mentioned. Could go either way with him.

Why does he deserve it? In my view if we lose on Sunday its campaign over and we have to get a manager who has a clue to get us in shape for the playoff games. If we lose against Croatia? We are always expected to lose against Croatia. Huge that we got a point away to them. Campaigns isn’t over, it’s because of the work giggs and page put in we still have the chance in the plays offs. He’s guided us successfully through tough play offs before. Who’s this mysterious manager that is going to come in and work wonders? Even without considering our budget We've been poor for almost 3 years, thats what im basing it off. Not sure who we would get in the playoffs but i am just cannot see us beating any team in them. Thats why Page has to go, the longer he stays the more damage he will do.

Beat Croatia tomorrow night, for starters, and RP & NM are going nowhere...
Personally, I like Mooney and his panache - think we could do worse than him.
Content to stick with Page if we win next three in a row!

panache ? Here’s a description of panache a stylish, original, and very confident way of doing things that makes people admire you: Mooney definitely doesn’t fall into this category Scruffy Wears ill fitting suits Wears a wig

More importantly, if any country is looking to replace their inexperienced manager who has struggled in the Euro qualifiers, shouldn’t the Republic of Ireland be looking at Keane?

In the build up to the last Euros Harry Kane was openly campaigning to leave his club with no hoo-ha and the story instead was about Bale retiring with no source mentioned.

This kind of gossip or scandal never happens with welsh football so yes I totally believe it. Most of the time the media are disinterested in us so there must be some truth in this and why it’s come out now?? Bale was global this is about Robert page

If this is to be believed I suppose it's good that the FAW appear to be unlikely to stick with Page whatever happens in the next 3 games, but I'd prefer Page who (just by managing Wales to the WC) has done more in his management career than than Keane ever has and ever will. If Page goes please can we have a proven coach/manager rather than a TV pundit.

Page being in trouble wouldn't get views, it's basically been done, so this is development on that and more likely to get hits across the bridge and in Ireland. And the name they're choosing?? Can you make a logical argument about that person being in contention?

B) it’s not just the daily mail reporting it C) it’s clear the Irish connection there This never happens in welsh football, there’s no controversy surrounding our managers appointments. Certainly not page. This is a typical England story which makes me think there’s truth to it. It’s been leaked from within the faw for a purpose.

But it's wrong to say there is no interest in Welsh football when it's an international weekend. One paper reports, others pick it up and may even use "as reported in" to get clicks without having their name to the story. Apart from Keane being Irish and Mooney being Irish, give me an argument to say he'd be considered. Where's the money coming from for a start? I get that you're not happy with the FAW at the moment, and arguably there is reason for this feeling, but there's a stink of confirmation bias in your posts. We don't need to be spun out by smallest story when there's no basis for it.

No one cares outside of us lot. Even our own media struggle to show an interest in the team at best of times. Even people close to welsh football are saying this is clearly leaked.

So far you believe this to be true on basis that no one writes about us. In the last month we have had story about Crews and Koumas in the paper which is about Welsh football. The FAW may be looking elsewhere, I can believe, but I can't see anyone in FAW leaking it this week and I can't see Keane being on anyone's list. Tell me why you think Keane (a key part of the article) may be on the list of candidates?

Better than anything Page did before Wales and after he was carried by world class players. Without them he is proving he is not a good manager.

Well come on Page!
Deliver. We all would actually love to see you succeed, despite the criticism! Make us look like fools
I agree - no way should Keane replace him. Would go with Page every time.
Only replace him with an upgrade if he clearly fails and there is little hope of improvement

More L****y (excuse spelling) than Mooney. Keane's been a failure in management, why him? Worst possible choice. If speculation true, CRAZY!!!!

SunSport can reveal Keane is hugely admired by Football Association of Wales CEO Noel Mooney.
