Thing that also concerned me was that FAW are cutting back on hotel costs and opposition analysis etc. Hopefully not a return to the amateurism of pre Speed days.

Mooney has denied it on Twitter, he says that it is ‘100% not true and it’s The Sun making it up’.
Fair play to Mooney, he may have his flaws but if this isn’t true then he is just about a victim in this false story as Page is.
Why does that rag, and the Mail for that matter, still exist.
At least after Mooney’s denial both papers can now go back blaming immigrants and trans people for all the ills in the country

If this came out first thing you’d do is get on the phone to page to clear it. Page looked devastated and his back room staff joined him in support. Disrespectful |

Not sure whether or not to believe if Mooney said those things or not, however the bloke is a bit of a clown, and we've been attracting a lot more negative attention since he took over.

How come Page hadn’t spoke to him? Something’s definitely not right…. Pages backroom team all gone in to press conference ( highlighted they are not happy either). The FAW have come across as very amateur I’m afraid particularly Mooney

I do feel Page is too emotional about things. Its not about him / its about our team! I do feel sorry for him but his emotion at that press conference is exactly what concerns me. Like Estonia at home when we are drawing 0-0 with a minute to go and he argues with the officials and they waste a minute of our time when he gets booked instead of focussing on what we can do, as well as all the other stuff. I want someone hard as nails and composed, who knows what they are doing tactically and focuses on that.
He is failing right now. Every manager who consistently fails is at risk
He should not take a press conference and make it all about him again! He should have given a straight bat answer, not pointing out all his back staff were at the conference with him - so what? He employed them! Before this he talked about how he turned them around in their Euro 2020/21 campaign - well no - that was Giggs actually. Then he makes clear the players are behind him. Again if they like him, so what? I'd rather them win with a ruthless manager they hate! By the way that is not Roy Keane - we would want a proper manager with a decent track record.
I would be shocked if Noel lied about the issue given his post on Twitter, as several people from the Welsh FAW committee could come out and challenge that and he would be toast. However, if he has checked out people discretely then so what? We are failing and that is what happens in life and many on here have called for change - football CEOs/chairmen always check out replacements! Better to get someone good and who you want before you sack someone. Sorry but Armenia was unacceptable and he put himself at risk when that result happened. If the players are unsettled well then his press conference has not helped with that has it. I hope he does not use this as an excuse if we lose.
Again I hope he delivers but things like this worry me - it should not be about him. He should focus on the £350k pa job he is paid to do

Him saying all my backroom staff and the players are behind me - you seldom see a manager referring to this factor. Really comes across as feeling sorry for himself. Sure its not nice if its true but I want the side to do well and not be held back by a manager who is not making the team better than the sum of its parts. You just say - I am not going to talk about that - its all about the game. You are paid well to get a result - get on with it. |

Maybe the environment is soft, very friendly and matey and he is very nice and kind. So what. Its a high performance environment - if the team isn't performing the the manager is vulnerable? Maybe the players need someone new with fresh ideas, who is going to get them out of their comfort zone and give them a kick up the behind! We are in transition but that is no excuse for being set up with a totally open midfield in the WC and against Armenia, a poor defensive setup in several games and a lack of dynamism. Made me laugh his reference to the transition and bringing through young players. Who has he brought in recently? He played Jordan James because he had no choice! Would not shock me if he goes back to Morrell when he is available again! Playing several youngsters versus Gibralter does not count!
