Fairplay to Page, he got it right last night. The defence looked pretty solid, bar a few moments, Ampadu and James are the pairing we needed and Dai Brooks what a player we have there. Same team and drive for Armenia and Turkey please.

Same team and drive for Armenia and Turkey please. Agreed. Brooks one of those players who seems to always choose the right option and has the ability to carry it out. Was surprised at how aggressive he was too and how effective his pressing game was. Test of Page's apparent loyalty to his stalwarts Vis a Vis benching his captain. He should do.

I've never slagged off Page personally, and I said he is fully capable of being in charge of the 1st team. What I have questioned is his ability to bring on the young players who are coming through and integrating them into the senior team, which is going to be critical for us moving forward.
There are also things outside of his control that seem to be benefitting us. Ampadu is finally being played in one position, and it is improving his overall game. Also Rodon is playing every game at Leeds, and he's positioned right behind Ampadu, so this is helping to strengthen our defensive spine. I'd also mention that Morrell getting sent off has been a blessing in disguise, as it has allowed Jordan James to flourish in that position, and hopefully he stays there!
We've still got a bit of work to do up front, and we still haven't been able to get the best out of Johnson, but the main thing is the defensive side of our game is looking much better.

Brooks has always been a high IQ player, whereas James and Wilson can be a bit frustrating at times.

We dont see them in training and im sure if they are good enough they would be involved. Until then they should carry on their development.

If anything, Page is a cautious and safe pair of hands, but he is definitely not out there when it comes to the younger players.

Its a massive gradual process, JJ (19 years old) - is the main man thats come through under page now. It was Page that brought in with us in the world cup as a travelling back up Amapdu has seen more caps since Page came into camp (23) Colwill (21) dropped back down for his development - been taken a long with the seniors to 2 tournaments now Neco williams (22) Johnson (22) Who's out there you think he should be playing? Luke Harris? and what's the average age of our team?

Its a massive gradual process Speed, Coleman & Giggs set the benchmark. It's not a difficult process, and they need Osian to put the old system back in place.

Why give Page a 4 year contract recently if they were unhappy with him. Granted there have been some poor performances in the last year or so, and one disgraceful one against Armenia, but we're still in with a shout of reaching Germany, so let's get behind Page and the boys for the remaining games and see what happens. Maybe a return of Osian to his old job would be a positive move, seemed to have done okay in Morocco as well, given their Qatar WC. I think there's more of a case in getting rid of that eejit if the story was true.

Some people have a short memories. Brooks was named Welsh FA Player of the Year in March 2019 after being given his debut alongside Ampadu in November 2017. Under the Page system he would have still been in the U21's, or if he was very lucky he might have got a non-playing role on the bench. It's not as complicated as people think it is.

It's not as complicated as people think it is. No short memories anywhere, the system in place is working, the youth sides are all picking uo impressive results with a clear pathway in place to reach the senior squad if you earn it. Rob Page and Matty Jones have us in good hands, there might be the odd bump in the road but this international window has shown what can happen when it all comes together.

I can't say that the idea of Page being our manager gives me much comfort, but credit where its due, when the chips were down everything was right last night.

I'm not sure we should be taking odd results in isolation as proof the system is working. We need to be qualifying to show the success. I'm not convinced of Page, but as long as we qualify thats all that matters.

In this group we've only had one horror show - Armenia at home.
Turkey away doesn't look like a terrible result now, given the form they've been in.
Yes some other performances have been patchy but results have been there.
We can't fully judge this campaign until all games are played.
As an aside, remember when we used to be out of the tournament after the first 3 games? Halcyon days, my friends!

If we can get to another tournament then it also improves our chances or keeping / gaining dual qualified youngsters. They are only human and if they see a team that qualifies for every Euros, which increases their own profile in the future, then it really is likely to influence decisions on the margin.
This weekend was really great for Welsh football - our victory last night, the good second half and last minute goal against Czech Republic for our U21s and the draw against England for our U19
Loved seeing Koumas so driven in that match - he looks fully committed and surely it helps Crew make the right decision! Maybe Buck and Ash Phillips had a realisation that they could do worse than join our team if things don't go quickly for them with England in the next 2 years too!

That Armenia game is so annoying!
Goodness we would need just 1 victory now if we had not screwed up!

I don't think Page is being given enough credit for last night's performance and result. If anything the result flattered Croatia, who created nothing up to their somewhat lucky goal, whereas we came close to scoring on numerous occasions, aparr from our two excellently crafted goals.
The team certainly played for Page and the shirt, but there was more to that result than hwyl alone. The decision to drop our forward defensive line to the edge of the centre circle and then push up the defensive line close to the circle, compressed the space for Croatia to such an extent that it completely nullified Modric and Kovacic, no small feat. Page must be given the credit for that masterstroke, especially considering the stick he's copped for the Armenia game.

That’s definitely the best front-foot football we’ve played for some time (Hungary at home?). Class act that he is, I can’t help thinking Rambo being out meant that we were forced into being much more dynamic. I was definitely one of those wanting Osian to be brought in but Page tactically got it spot on and all credit to him. JJ has been a revelation - a bit worrying that at club level he’s now got Rooney as his Manager. Dai Brooks what a story. Laughable that him, Kieffer and Meps aren’t starting regularly for a desperately poor Bournemouth side - all three need to move on.

Ash Phillips is definitely one to keep an eye on given that he actually came and played for us at one point. Like you say if things don't progress too quickly at Spurs (he might well find that he moved too early) then he could end up being not quite good enough for them but easily good enough to get in our team. It might be a cynical way of looking at it but you never know! I know it's been done to death, but it doesn't look like Jay Dasilva will ever be good enough for England now - I do wonder whether it's worth going for him in future, albeit he currently looks to be around the level of a Norrington-Davies. May still be worth asking the question - I have no idea when he was last asked

Robinson popped up last season at ER as part of Big Sam’s ‘coaching’ team at the end of Leeds’ car crash of a season - as we picked up - point in the 4 games and looked even worse than previously, which is some low bar, I’m going with No on Robinson’s coaching abilities.
