Paul Dummett starts again for Newcastle. I hope he turns up for us next week. If not then he will have to come out and be honest that he does not want to commit to us at this juncture, as there would clearly be no other reason for his non attendance for competitive games I know this will not happen, but should he not be considered for the team vs Belgium in place of Taylor? Taylor is quicker but is hardly a frightening attacking full back is he? Has never scored a goal and does not get many assists. Dummett is stronger than Taylor and more importantly is very good in the air, both defensively and offensively. Much has been said about the physicality of the Belgians and how dangerous they are at set pieces. Therefore it would be great to have Dummett, Collins, Chester and Williams in the back line, while the likes of Robson-Kanu can also come back to defend set plays? I get what you are saying about Taylor. But I remember him for the Wales U21 where he was flying down the wing getting in great crosses, playing one twos and just being a menace to the opposition. He does seem to have lost something

To be fair Taylor played well versus Arsenal today. I just wish he was more of an attacking threat.
At least we seem to have some strength in depth at the back (with the exception of right back)

I can't see him being put in ahead of Collins, Williams and Chester, but a handy player to have if we lose those to injuries

He has had quite a lot of stick but since getting a regular starting slot Newcastle have looked solid. Premier CB playing well and no guaranteed start for Wales. Our squad is really coming together. He just needs to be patient and his time will come.

In the u21 victory over Italy he was excellent and played virtually as a wing back. Was very attacking

Despite being his hometown club, so called supporters get on his back. Good on him!

I was very impressed with Dummett against Liverpool last week. He dominated Sterling. I think Sterling is pretty representative of the Belgian front line.
Taylor is playing ok at the moment but Dummett's form is impressive, I think it's time to give him the chance.
Echo other people's views that its a shame we've got so many LB options! Although saying that, Dummett can play at CB. Could be an alternative to Chester?

The emergence of Dummett is a massive boost for Welsh football and I really hope he plays more at centre half.
His development plus the recruitment of Chester (only 25) looks like it will fill the whole which will be left by Collins & Williams who at 30 and 31 probably have this campaign and possibly the 2018 left in them.
All we need is a decent keeper coming through and a couple of strikers and the continued development ofG Williams and Wilson etc.
I firmly believe that if we can qualify for a major finals we will go on and have a run of qualifying for a few. I also believe if we get there we will do pretty well

Let's hope he wasn't in CC's plans to start. This is an excellent point, we can't afford any more injuries.

Is it too late to call up another centre half? Bit worried we're light in numbers at the back now.

If you've seen the photos of the closed doors training match you can just make out Dummett in the background behind bale (same side). Suggesting he was in their plans to start as this game was set up to mirror the Belgium game.

If he was on the same team as Bale in the training match I would say that means he wasn't in CC's starting XI for tomorrow. I may have dreamt this but wasn't the plan to have the first choice attack vs the first choice defense in that practice match, mainly to test the defenders with Bale.

What do people think the line up will be ? Hennessey, Gunter Chester Williams Taylor, Allen Ledley, Bale Ramsey are almost guaranteed to start...that leaves King, Robson-Kanu and Vokes as the next most likely to be in there... I'm guessing it'll be HRK and Vokes
but it could also be a 4321 kind of formation with King Allen Ledley sitting, Ramsey and Bale in a no.10 role and HRK or Vokes leading the line

He seems to be constantly injured when in the National setup?

He seems to be constantly injured when in the National setup? I think he's had a hamstring injury before, and if you're suggesting he didn't want to play then why would he wait until today to declare himself injured? Not quite sure if you're making a point or just stating a fact.

I think we'll probably play a diamond sort of formation. Back four of Gunter, Chester, Williams and Taylor. Allen the sitting midfielder. King on the right side and Ledley on the left side of the diamond with Ramsey and Bale the two pronged attacking part of the diamond. HRK upfront. I wouldn't be over the moon with this formation and its lack of width, but it seems likely considering Coleman's selections in the past.

Was this injury reported anywhere? Ben reading articles for about an hour never saw this. Normally do the rounds BBC sport, dragonsoccer, Apostle, usually in the same order.

Not quite sure if you're making a point or just stating a fact. Stating a fact. Think he's been capped once in 18 months and he has probably pulled out 3 or 4 times. Hopefully it's purely down to bad luck.

Shit.
This could be worse than we think.
What if up to now Coleman has been drilling the team for a 5-3-2 with Dummett, Williams, Chester as back three? If we have to swap to 4-4-2 that could be a big disruption. Or perhaps Gunter plays in back three, with Matthews/Henley/Richards at RWB?

Lets be honest, did anyone have Dummett in their starting line up? ? No more injuries though. At the moment the starting line up i would have chosen even if everyone had been fit probably contains 10 players. Ben Davies might have got into my team

We do not really know if Dummett is up to scratch for international football.

Like you say, would have been a bit worrying if it was!
