I wonder if Roberts will be at Leeds this coming season or will they sell/loan him out?
They've just signed Rodrigo for a club record of 30m Euros, and there's talk on twitter and their forum about buying another winger/no 10.

Rodrigo isn't really competition for Roberts imo as he plays behind the striker for Leeds. If they sign another #10 than he'll have competition, but that might also be a replacement for Pablo who didn't get much more than 45mins in the league below last season. Think he's got a great chance to showcase himself this season.

I've got a mate who is a Leeds fan who rates him a lot and expects him to start - he just thinks he needs to add some more goals to his game, which I'd say is a fair assessment. Perhaps playing with a striker of the quality of Rodrigo will afford him more goalscoring opportunities than playing with Patrick Bamford

He probably would've started in Helsinki as well, what a muppet.

Guys you really need to calm yourselves. Firstly, all the noises are that the Welsh staff are the ones who have sent Roberts home as he was deemed not fit enough to play in a competitive international. If he’s not fit enough to do that, he could still could well be fit enough to have a run out in a friendly - there’s nothing implausible or sinister about that. There’s a big difference between a short run out in a friendly & playing in a competitive international fixture for starters.
Secondly, if he and Rodon are not fit enough to play competitively, what’s wrong with them building their fitness for their clubs? I actually want them to do that because I want them back fit and firing for their clubs so they can perform for Cymru! What world are we living in where it’s better for Tyler Roberts to hop on a flight to Finland & back with zero chance of playing in either games due to lack of fitness, as opposed to going back to Leeds & building his fitness up?!
Thirdly, did Roberts even get on the pitch today? I can’t see anything suggesting he even played in the game? Wouldn’t it be a bit premature to berate him for playing when he didn’t even play?

This from the Yorkshire Post-
‘Roberts is not believed to be suffering from a fresh injury, but Leeds have been cautious not to overload the youngster, who has suffered with shin problems in the past and been hampered by injuries
Although the striker has trained over the past 10 days, he has not been put through the same workload as a number of his team-mates at Thorp Arch, in recognition of the short break between last season and the new Premier League campaign and the need to manage Roberts' fitness’

He's not played since March! Yeah I was probably in the wrong about that one. Least I can admit when I am.

Fair points made there mate. I take back what I said about them. I've been burned before by players backing out over non-injuries!

To be fair mate I don't blame you - I think deep down we all feel like that when players drop out. As a fan I'm on the younger side of things (25), so whilst I know all about players dropping out from previous generations, I probably haven't got the scars some fans from following Cymru closely longer than I have. In a way I'm lucky that since I've started following Cymru closely, all our players have been highly committed (Giggs & Dummett aside). Because of that I've been privileged in a sense to always assume the best of the players - I was even for giving Dummett a chance when Giggs came in, which I ended up being completely wrong about!!

Played the full 90' in the cup. At home v Hull. I only saw the second half - but United hardly got got out of their own half. They only got an equalizer in the final shot of the match (which was their only shot on target). Ended 8-9 on pens - could easily have been 1-5
A possible player to look out for is Callum Jones midfielder of Hull. Only played the last 15 minutes, but looked decent and tidy on the ball. That said, the way Leeds played, would have made anyone look good ;-)

Good to see him starting in the Premier League injury free season & I think he'll be in and out of the Leeds team which is perfect for us in terms of minutes

Just took a look at Tottenham's up and coming fixture list. They're playing mow, Tuesday, Thursday and then again next Sunday. Going to be some knackered players for an absolute cert.

Had a very poor half, subbed after 45 mins.
Leeds are after a few more players I believe, so I struggle to see him being Anything more than a bit part player.
Come to think of it I havent seen a game where I thought he’s played that well.

Felt that off the ball he was excellent today.

I’d like to see a loan move for him, He’s currently 3rd choice attacking midfielder, and I’ve seen Leeds linked to Cantwell. I can only see his gametime constrained going forward. With him being on the periphery of the Euros 23 hopefully he may push for one.

Come to think of it I havent seen a game where I thought he’s played that well. Agreed, he certainly falls into the 'luxury player' type category every time i've seen him play. He's clearly talented, but he hasn't worked out how to influence games on a consistent basis. He never got on the ball in the first half

Let's not panic on this one. A young player under Bielsa is a great thing - he doesn't have to be a world beater just yet. Let's see where he's at towards the end of the season

He's also played in every game for a PL team who look like they'll be lower mid-table. Admittedly he hasn't made much of an impact but he'd be mad to push for a loan move if they don't sign anyone in his position.
