I had kind of written Tyler off at the start of the season - he was behind the likes of Woodburn, Brooks, Ampadu, Wilson, etc, having not progressed as quickly as them over the past 2 years, albeit he is only 19 of course. It is however great to see him get a good run of games. I don't see him (yet) as an out and out goalscorer, but he seems to have a great all round game - pace, physicality, a great first touch, good passer has good awareness and can score a variety of goals. The only thing I have noticed that he needs to develop is the 'anticipation' of a goalscorers - but I guess this could improve with age.
It is amazing how many forward options we now have! He has a much better all round game than Vokes and would worry opponents more. However, Vokes is in decent goalscoring form right now too, albeit one wishes he could score more goals with his feet!
Perhaps Robson-Kanu's retirement was in a small way encouraged by the emergence of the likes of Tyler?

Agree with your assessment - that he has those raw physical and technical attributes, but lacks something - perhaps football intelligence, or anticipation as you put it. I watched some of the Leeds game today and one thing he's not good at all at is battling for the ball in the air - everytime it was pumped up to him he never looked like winning the duels with the centre backs. He was also too quiet on occasion and didn't seem to get himself into the right areas. However, I still think he's progressing quite nicely and if he can develop that mental side of his game, he will be a quality player.

Thought he struggled in Ireland but we have a 19 yr old striker playing in the championship which is great going forward.
Dont think he will start against Denmark.

Nah, don't think he will either. I sensed a bit of nerves and naïvety here and there. Not surprising given he only has a handful of starts for club and country at 19. Even Brooks and Wilson have another two years on him!

Came on for last 30 minutes v Hull, when they were trailing 0-2 at home.
Had two efforts cleared off the line and another one go just wide.
Might have done enough to warrant a start?

Not been impressed by Roberts yet but he is doing really well to get in a top championship team.
Nowhere near my first xi but as stated will probably take vokes place in the squad

Nice assist for the second goal. Decent shot on target earlier, as well.
The whole team look on fire ;-)
Having a superb second half as well. A second assist, after a wonderful dribble. Some fantastic movement, on and off the ball. Bamford might get the plaudits, but all the work today was done by Tyler. Man of the Match, by a country mile.
Quick, someone send the tape over to Giggs to have a long look at this. PURE MAGIC;-)

Yes, man of the match - playing as a 10. He's never looked like a natural centre forward from what I've seen of him, so perhaps his future is in slightly deeper role. Unfortunate as we're crying out for a CF!

Great to see. Wish I had watched now.
Maybe a number 10 will be his position.
Be good to see him play a full game in the friendly with T&T.

Confirmed as starter again tonight. Might be moved to Striker again, if Bamford fails a late fitness check

I only saw his 25' in the second half, but was said to have had an excellent first half as well. Played well, interchanging with Bamford as Striker/Number 10.
Was subbed after 70' after taking a knock. Was fouled at least 4 times in that 25' of the 2nd half that I saw ... which is always a good sign ;-)
He is starting to make a claim as a starter - maybe even ahead of a fit Vokes?

Started in the last five matches. A big test today at the lunchtime KO v Sheff United... Or will he lose his spot to the other teenager, Jack Clarke, who is back from injury? "It’s the first time in some weeks that Bielsa has not named his full XI in the build-up to a game. The Whites have fielded the same side for the last five games, which has seen them yield 12 points." www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/leeds-united-jack-clarke-sheffield-15973844

Think I will watch that today. Not seen a lot of Roberts and not convinced by him yet. However, he must be doing well to be playing for a top championship team

Watching the game, looks like he's enjoying his football and very confident! He has nearly broken the goal post ... after being not too far off with a header in first half as well. Looks good.
Considering that Rabbi is again not starting today for Schalke and Vokes is far from match-fit, surely Roberts is a shoe-in to start?

You'd think so. Dan James was great again today, his pace is terrifying... based on form both he and Tyler Roberts should start for us really.

Weird thing is that Tyler is playing as a 10 at the minute, not up front. Sods law!
