Sorry, had a crazy week. Cracked one in early doors from inside the area while we were still asleep. We played quite well for the next 20 minutes until just after the equaliser as we dominated the midfield. Then the game kind of died a death. He certainly didn't stand out, although the pitch, while much better than it was (and much better than's Coventry's, who we played on the Tuesday night), still isn't conducive to midfielders standing out unless they are the harry and hussle-type. Thanks for taking the time for that. It's been a while since I've seen him play. Pity there won't be any televised playoff games to watch him in...

They definitely missed Labadie, he could have bullied our midfield and might have allowed Sheehan to play a bit more if so.

5 things we learned from Newport County 2 Accrington Stanley 1 www.southwalesargus.co.uk/sport/football/newportcounty/16181484.5_things_we_learned_from_Newport_County_2_Accrington_Stanley_1/.... "5. Sheehan showed his worth Many fans have been crying out for Josh Sheehan to get more minutes and they got their wish as the former Swansea City youngster was restored to the starting XI after a month on the bench. He linked well with Amond, Nouble and Robbie Willmott as the quartet set about the Stanley defence with gusto in the first half and showed that they can be a formidable attacking unit. Sheehan tired after the break and was replaced by Aaron Collins but he did enough to suggest that he could be a big part of this team after a full pre-season to really get him back to peak physical condition."

Not much hope as a future international if he can't get a regular game at league 2 level.

Predicts success in league 2.
Let's hope he is right for the players sake

Yep, it does seem unlikely he'll be good enough for us now. Probably more of a one to look out for as with all those on the fringe players thread, just in case his career drastically takes off.

He's had a long term injury. Played his first 90 minutes since returning. Newport won too.

Seems to be his level, maybe league 1.
Wish that had been my level.

Newport is on odd team for Sheehan to be at to be honest. If he was playing for a footballing side his prospects might be Championship level.

He's a really tidy player, and I agree with alarch, he would be better suited to a team that's more possession based and keep the ball on the floor a bit more.
I can definitely see him climbing the ladder!

Obviously no interest from higher up and that's why he has signed for another 2 years.

Absolutely flying at the minute. Regular starter and we'll struggle to hang on to him on this form. Far too good for league two.
Take a look at his goal on quest or EFL show tonight.

Looking at the highlights here. You could make a case for him playing at a higher level. Nice touch and movement.

Thought he was excellent this week against Newcastle, and after watching a few other matches, I think he's far too good for League 2.

Yes, which begs the question, why hasn't he been snapped up at a higher level? Newport probably have the lowest salary budget in L2 too, so I wouldn't imagine he's on all that much.
