Hennessey's solution has been agreed - he will play as first choice at his new club. However the deal had to be delayed in light of Speroni's minor ailment.

Problem for Hennessey is that goalkeepers are usually bedded in in time for the start of the season. I would love to see him be first choice for someone but I wonder what club in the top 2 divisions would still have their goalkeeping situation unresolved now the new season has started.

Tom Heaton is now captain at Burnley so I very highly doubt that!

Palace fans all think he's off to Cardiff. Well, the Palace fans I know anyway.

I reckon if he does move to the championship it will be to Ipswich Town, the manager Mick McCarthy knows his abilities from Wolves.

Spot on needs a kick up the arse. Never looked at it that way, he does seem to settle for second best, he should say fuck this and push for a move , Not sure I see it that way. Wayne stuck it out at Wolves. Then pushed for a move lost out at Wolves when first choice was injured because he was looking to get away to help international career. Then he ends up at Palace promised that Speroni would be stepping down but he never did. Hemust be unsure what to do for the best.

Why does he need to stay in English football? If I was him I would be engineering a move abroad. If he is happy sitting on his arse on the subs bench, then he may as well do it where the weather is good.
I know that the pay is lower abroad, but would you want to look back at your career remembering that most of the time was spent watching someone else play in goal?
If I was a pro footballer and made the money he makes, I would take the paycut, move and enjoy my career instead of letting it stagnate. Its only because he plays for Wales that anyone knows who the hell he is.

I believe he would be shout by now if it wasn't for the injury to Speroni, Mccarthy is a good keeper as well so I can see why he hasn't played, especially if it's agreed he can go. Hopefully drops a division and plays no.1. Something he should have done years ago.

It happens before the window is slammed shut. But you are not going to state which club? I will say this: some would not consider it a step down in terms of the club itself.

Why can't you just tell us? Tim P is being a tease.;-) Or just making it up??? There are 24 teams in the division so he's got at least 24 chances of being correct.

Probably an educated guess on the basis that he is not playing as he is being lined up for a move that is on hold until the deadline due to Speroni's injury. I can't see a late move in August happening, how many keepers move on deadline day to be number 1 at another club? Keeper is a settled position, deadline day keeper nonsense seems very unlikely. Maybe, just maybe de Gea is moving to Madrid after all and Wayne will be number 1 at United in a last minute deal and we will all say he was right to sit on his ass for a bit My prediction is that he will go on loan somewhere to cover for injury.

Practically mystic meg then. If I was to guess I say Ipswich Replacing Dean Gerken? Not exactly a household name, but an experienced league keeper- not convinced that will happen myself. Interestingly Ipswich's 3rd choice is classed as Welsh on soccerbase: michael Crowe, 19. Played on loan for woking last season. Anyone know if hes on our radar? Considering we are struggling for keepers who are associated with clubs at a decent level he might be a name to watch out for

To clarify: Hennessey moves to be the number 1, and it happens shortly. The club, historically, could certainly consider itself bigger than Crystal Palace. Hennessey will put pen to paper on a three year contract with the explicit goal being to return to the epl next season.
