I don't rate Hennessey but he's come up big for us in the past and he's here to stay unless Ward gets a run at Liverpool Although if Hennessey continues to miss Palace games and Maxwell keeps performing for Preston we could see a change On a sidenote, its strange that all of our "main" keepers are from North Wales; Hennessey (Bangor), OWF (Gwynedd), Maxwell (St Asaph) and Ward (Wrexham) and the other (Davies) was born in Germany! Before then you had Jones (Chirk) and Southall (Llandudno). Margetson is from neath and got capped.

I admire Hennessy for what appears to be hard work and dedication to his craft. His parents moved house to support his career then he failed, what pressure a young Hennessey must have felt before finally succeeding at Wolves.
I would say however that his style and performance reflects his rehearsed drills significantly more than a natural talent. I have no doubt his height has given him many thumbs up before he even left the dressing room, and to be fair he has made the most if what has come his way.
But we do have alternatives....
Adam Davies playing week in week out as does Chris Maxwell, I believe both have had a number of full seasons under their belt. Danny Ward is sidelined but has survived loan spells at Aberdeen (L1-L2 level) and thereafter his one and only full season at Huddersfield In the championship last year. Davies and Maxwell are in their second consecutive season in the championship.
Davies & Maxwell more than match Hennessy for game time and experience.
For me our little nation needs to maximise every position for a dog fight rather than forward planning for the never gong to happen in a lifetime shot at the tournament final. Let's not forget we have just stumbled against a team full of championship players yet our criteria for selection favours the English Priemership no matter what the circumstances might be. (I am a little sketchy but I believe Maxwell had 3 team mates and one former team mate in the Ireland set up)
Hennessey has been struggling to hold down a premiership place for years and is once again facing being sidelined, at and best staring relegation to the Championship down the barrel if a gun for the third year in succession.
Please, Please give an alternative a chance. The one who has maximum natural talent, the one who can fight to the death with no fear and total commitment to winning.

To think he is closing in on Southall's record?
To name both in the same sentence frightens me

Starting for Palace tonight. Its a cup game so not sure if this means he’s no1 again or they’re keeping Speroni fresh for the league. Either way it’s a chance to earn it back.

To think he is closing in on Southall's record? To name both in the same sentence frightens me Comparing Southall and Hennessy is like comparing Ian Rush with Simon Church. What I will say though, is for all the great saves Nev made for Wales and he’s an absolute legend, he did make some howlers in some massive games. Romania and Yugoslavia spring to mind

If Hennessey is no longer Palace's number 1 then Adam Davies and Chris Maxwell certainly deserve a shot
How about Karl Darlow? I saw him in goal for Newcastle against Chelsea and he qualifies for us

I saw him in goal for Newcastle against Chelsea and he qualifies for us In the China Cup I'd give one of them a go but he's won 70 caps for Wales. He's our number 1 until someone takes it from him. Only Ward comes close to his level of ability in my opinion.

Maxwell has been our best-performing and most regularly played keeper for two seasons running, he deserves his bite of the cherry now.

I've not seen Maxwell play in years, is he really our best performing? Judging by your name I'm guessing like me you're a Wrexham fan, I used to cringe with any high ball into the box, are they still a problem for him?

He's cemented himself as the number one keeper in a championship team who are playing well. I'd take that experience and form any day over Hennessey getting battered in the PL every week. He rarely falters in one on ones, which is handy given our track record of getting dodgy penalties, and doesn't try to make conceded goals look like no fault of his own, unlike Wayne.

When did we concede our last penalty? Andorra away I think. If he drops one into the goal or kicks it straight from a goal kick to a striker then I agree he has to only look at himself. Mistakes will happen in a match though and as 11 players we have to react together. If Hennessey makes a dodgy clearance, goes to the winger who crosses it in and striker scores a lot of people could have affected that. He might be having a go at players but that's not to say he's not accepted responsibility.

Rumours going around that Wayne has had an accident in training and has ruptured his achilles tendon. Certainly just rumours but would be months out if true.

Hope not, that's an awful injury, and can affect you for years after. If its true, its a chance for Ward, Davies or Maxwell to shine. Fingers crossed its not true though.

Certainly hope so, as indeed it is one of the worst injuries to fully heal, and often re-occurs There is nothing at all on Twitter about it since yesterday, when Talk S...t "broke" the news ...
