Great game against Arsenal but consistency is the key. Myhill to start against Belgium.

If Boaz maintains how he's been playing for Birmingham and the second half of this season and then the beginning of the new season from August, then that's hell of a shout, but there's still a long way to go until then.

Having another fantastic game today. Only beaten by a Ricketts screamer.

Until his horrible error for West Brom's third yday, he had been superb. Even then he managed to recover to make saves in the latter stages. BUT it's certainly not his fault that Wolves have not had a good defence and defensive midfielder infront of him for the last two years.

I wonder how the change of manager will affect Hennessey. I hope Steve Bruce doesn't take over there...

Hennessey good but not as good as De Gea, still, he's developed into a Prem Keeper an achievement in itself

Is Myhill only on loan at Birmingham? Wonder what'll happen if they go up (only 5 points behind S'ton with a game in hand now)

My mate who's a spurs fan says that a lot of tottenham fans on forums/facebook and who he's spoken too want him as number 1 next year, he's made the most saves this year in the premier league (over 150) so far, and has the worst defense in the league in front of him i reckon. Be a class move for Hennessey if he did move there... ;D ;D

A brilliant move for both him and Wales. But I'll eat my metaphorical hat if it happens- fair enough hes made a lot of saves in front of a woeful defence, but when you see some of the goals he has let in he has had some right shockers. Considering where Spurs are they will want someone reliable in goal, Hennessey could cost them points.

This would be more shocking than Saha to spurs was. He's not a champions league quality goal keeper, nowhere near.

Really cannot see this happening. I'd have thought Liverpool is more possible. They love pointless statistics and spending money on unproven overpriced British players.

might be the making of him,the shots have been coming in from all angles this season as a wolves keeper, you can make a load of good saves but people will only remember the mistakes
i think he has the potential to be a decent keeper but he can only do so much in a wolves side that are in free fall
he's looked hopless when wolves have conceded at times but i think there's potential there

Im just worried that if he goes to Spurs he could end up being second choice to somebody else and end up on the bench.

Perhaps most worrying is that he's looking more like a streamlined Clare Balding with every passing week.
I agree he's still got potential, though one wonders if he'll ever fufill it. Can't see a move to one of the big boys happening this summer. A first choice spot at any Premier League side next season would be great news.

Here we go again, throwing the word 'potential' about! ;D
I guess he, more than most, has time on his side as he is a keeper. But its depressing to see how his development has tailed off- if represented on a graph there would pretty much be a right angle at the point where Wolves reached the prem and Arsenal were said to be interested.
Since then hes just never really turned into that keeper that he threatened to be and looks like hes going backwards with some of the goals he has conceded in recent weeks against West Brom and Man United. He might make a lot of saves but you have to question how many have been routine because he has been noticably flapping at some pretty straightforward shots of late.
Its possible hes not been given the best coaching, look at how Ferguson has got the best out of De Gea in a short space of time. He was a clown a few months ago and now he is looking very solid and reliable. Hennessey is in a similar situation- he has the ability, but he needs to be given the confidence to have more conviction about the things he does instead of flapping at things he should be dealing with.
In fact, even if he went to Spurs and sat on the bench it may not be such a bad thing as he would surely get a much better standard of coaching which may get the best out of him.

The difference between De Gea and Hennessey is that Ferguson saw fit to spend 17 million on him.
Would any manager (barring possibly Kenny Dalglish) see fit to spend more than 3 million for Hennessey?
He needs a move. I'd be thinking about moving abroad, because I can't see an epl team wanting him as no1.

A lot will depend on who takes over at Wolves for next season, assuming it isn't Connor and I'd be amazed if it is).
Also, when is his contract up?

I'd have no problem with Hennessey staying at Wolves in the Championship. It is better for him to be playing there, than warming a bench in the top flight. Tomasz Kzcuzsak has gone to Watford on loan to give himself chance at being at the Euros, so I'd say if its good enough for Poland its good enough for us. 2nd point, I really can't understand Hennessey getting stick on here. He has always performed well for us, a very proud Welshman and a cert currently to take Southall's cap record. Southall on a side note, didn't get his first cap til he was 23. Hennessey is only 25 now, and must have 40+ ? He has made errors in the league this season, but name me a keeper who hasn't? The pressure Wolves' defence have been under constantly have given Hennessey the top saves in Premiership stat, and the errors too unfortunately.

He hasnt always performed well for us and has cost us goals. Ireland away under Speed springs to mind. He missed the Costa Rica game despite playing for Wolves either side. And as for being on to beat Southall's caps record that doesn't say a great deal about his quality, Nyatanga has a shedload of caps to his name, does that make him a good player? Wayne has been fortunate enough to always be number 1 in the mind of our managers, as recently Myhill has made a strong case to be our number 1 yet (inexplicably imo) finds himself on the bench whenever Wayne turns up. He still has a lot to prove and it will be interesting to see if any prem clubs are interested when Wolves inevitably go down.

It may stop the negative posts for 5mins. By the 40+ cap remark, I was referring to invaluable international experience, not how good he is. You mention the Ireland game, fair enough, but what about Myhill - who you say "inexplicably" finds himself on the bench....what about the Georgia game? Perhaps I was wrong initially and you do have a rose tinted view...about Myhill.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKZw3wttrDMRemember this performance by young Wayne Hennessey? Also do people remember Lewis Price's top class performance on his debut? Against Cyprus i think...
