Thats definitely a very rose tinted view. He hasnt always performed well for us and has cost us goals. Ireland away under Speed springs to mind. He missed the Costa Rica game despite playing for Wolves either side. And as for being on to beat Southall's caps record that doesn't say a great deal about his quality, Nyatanga has a shedload of caps to his name, does that make him a good player? Wayne has been fortunate enough to always be number 1 in the mind of our managers, as recently Myhill has made a strong case to be our number 1 yet (inexplicably imo) finds himself on the bench whenever Wayne turns up. He still has a lot to prove and it will be interesting to see if any prem clubs are interested when Wolves inevitably go down. Rose tinted it may be - maybe you should try that view sometime? It may stop the negative posts for 5mins. By the 40+ cap remark, I was referring to invaluable international experience, not how good he is. You mention the Ireland game, fair enough, but what about Myhill - who you say "inexplicably" finds himself on the bench....what about the Georgia game? Perhaps I was wrong initially and you do have a rose tinted view...about Myhill. Again I think thats a very tinted representation of my postings, I haven't been very negative at all of late- in fact I have been encouraging others to get behind Coleman when the backlash started before he even started the job! Still I have made enough of a caricature of myself in the past that no matter what I say it will always be construed as negative by some. Fair enough.

I still think that Hennessey's best (only) opportunity to get a decent epl Project will rely on what happens at Newcastle and Swansea. But even then, would either one of them go for him?

Nah i just like Fulham. Schwarzer and Stockdale would be ahead of him probably.

Swans would not want a hoofer in goals. His distribution is not the best.

I have always been glass half full, especially when it comes to Wales - I couldn't go on if I had to change that! We do have reason to be optimistic for a change though, and I'd back both Hennessey and Myhill. Both are good and the best we've had since Southall, although maybe that isn't the best compliment as, Paul Jones (at times) apart, we've struggled in that area. It is a fact that even if we qualify for a major tournament there'll be people who moan.

Swans would not want a hoofer in goals. His distribution is not the best. Agreed. But then again nor is Vorm's, but he's compensated for that enough with the amazing saves he's pulled off!

Doesn't sound too good! He's great in the championship, shame he'll be missing most of next season.

Leaves him in limbo now. Will he be surplus at Wolves? They will have a new manager in place by the time he is fit again. Will anyone come in for him? Couldn't have come at a worse time for him really with the summer round the corner.
Slightly altruistically I think it might not be so bad for Wales. Myhill will be a good keeper for us if he gets the chance to start the qualifiers- could even be a premiership keeper himself by then.

Class. I like it.
"Wayne Hennessey tops Wolves awards
Thursday 10th May 2012, 7:35AM BST. Wayne Hennessey tops Wolves awards
Wayne Hennessey finally had some cheer after being voted Wolves’ Player of the Season last night.
The Wales international, who is currently nursing a ruptured cruciate ligament, topped the fans’ poll of around 4,000 votes ahead of last year’s winner Matt Jarvis and 11-goal top scorer Steven Fletcher, who also took the Players’ Player of the Season award.
Hennessey conceded 73 goals in his 34 Premier League games before getting injured in the 0-0 draw at Sunderland, but he topped the saves made among top-flight keepers.
Click here to see more pictures from the event.
Manager Terry Connor paid tribute to the 25-year-old keeper, who is expected to be out until October.
“It’s been a good season for him personally and it speaks volumes for his mental strength that he’s continued to perform at such high levels,” said the boss.
His team-mates showered praise on him, but the biggest tribute came from former Wolves keeper Matt Murray. “His performance at the Emirates against Arsenal last season was unbelievable, but his performance there this season was the best goalkeeping display I’ve ever seen in a Wolves shirt, and probably the best I’ve seen of all time.
“Although he conceded a lot of goals, he made the most saves of any keeper ahead of people such as Tim Krul and Michel Vorm and he enhanced his reputation as a goalkeeper.”
Connor said Fletcher, who edged out Jarvis and Hennessey for the players’ gong, was “probably the best attacking header of a ball in the Premier League”.
Stephen Ward said: “You’re now seeing a mature goalkeeper and Wayne is one of the best in the Premier League.
“He’s become very vocal even though he’s still very young for a keeper.”
Keeper Dorus De Vries added: “He commands his box, he’s a great size and he’s got great reflexes.”

High praise indeed for Wayne, probably paid his last game for wolves and a Prem club will be in for him in the Summer, Boaz will be a good stand in for the 2 Sept qualifiers.

Pat has been at Wolves for quite a few years now, he played in the same amateur team for me when he stsarted senior football.
As for Wayne he first needs to get his place back which won't be easy then he needs to start commanding his box more.
We need him back desperately

Crazy that he may struggle to get back into the wolves championship team but will presumably walk straight back into the national side as our number 1.

Crazy that he may struggle to get back into the wolves championship team but will presumably walk straight back into the national side as our number 1. That's life. Not too long ago that we ha 2 premiership keepers so it shows how fast football moves and how you can be left behind if you don't continue to develop, stagnate and in myhills case go backwards. If Hennessy isn't first choice you would think Wolves would sell, the big question is will there be any prem teams looking to sign him as their first choice keeper? Goalkeeper once again looks to be a bit of a problem position again with potentially no plenty of bench warmers at a decent level but no keeper as first choice, so unthinkable when we had 2 starting for prem sides

Hennessey walks back into the Wolves team. I agree with this! No doubt he will be number 1 for Wolves when match fit again.

I wouldn't be so sure that he will just walk back in when fit. Wolves are a strange one in that they have always seemed to have decent keepers as back up. They have Ikeme and De Vries alongside Hennessey and its even stranger that De Vries is 3rd in the pecking order!
Plus Wayne won't have played under the new manager so will he be willing to trust Wayne in a position where long term stability is usually a key factor? Not many managers chop and change their goalkeeper at the drop of a hat.
So I don't think its a foregone conclusion at all.

its even stranger that De Vries is 3rd in the pecking order! Considering he had three years Championship experience, had the record amount of clean sheets in that League three seasons back and a Promotion under his belt yes it is but there you go! But I wish Wayne all the best and I hope he returns to the side, but agreed, it's not a foregone conclusion.
