Hennessey walks back into the Wolves team. not a chance even when he was playing regular he was always under threat with murray, ikeme and eventually Hahneman - who he eventually lost his place too. He's a good keeper but he certainly isn't untouchable. Ikeme and De tries are both highly rated keeps themselves.

He played the whole of last season as number 1 until his injury and was responsible for Wolves not conceding double figures on some occassions, he will be number 1 again as soon as match fit! IMO

like your optimism but Henners has lost his place to Ikeme in the past. Best he can hope for is to sit on the bench and wait for Ikeme to make a clanger.

Thats a bold statement especially since even wolves supporters are divided on who should be their number one. www.molineuxmix.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?t=75363&page=2You must have some inside knowledge though, so fair enough.

Big injury blow for Wales' Wayne Hennessey. May need another op.

Not that big a blow. We'll achieve nothing under Coleman and will ultimately end up in pot 5 or 6 for 2016 qualifying which will start in September, making all the games up until September meaningless in terms of our place in the draw. The only way this could be a big blow is if the injury fucks up his future career like in Ramsey's case. He's not really that far ahead of Myhill and we have great prospects who could be starting for us in a years time.

Gutted for him, and he's by far our best goalkeeper. For the next games we have to play whoever is playing most consistently and keep that 1 keeper!

Started on the bench yesterday as Jackett went with Ikeme. Do we read much/anything into this?

Yes, not good news at all, if he's fit he needs to play.
Maybe there are plans to get him of the wage bill as 2 good keepers is a bit of a luxury in that league.
Nice to see Evans getting a game, however not a good sign for Cassidy as he didn't even get on.

I'm more worried about the goalkeeper situation than I am about centre halves of centre forwards. We might have 3 centre halves playing regularly in the PL this season (Williams, J Collins, Gabbidon) and Bale, Robson-Kanu and some of our midfielders will score goals at international level...perhaps the need for an out and out traditional centre forward isn't as pressing as many believe it to be?
Its a tricky one for Wolves- they probably want Hennessey off the wage bill...but if he doesn't play he's not in the shop window. I can see him going out on loan. I hope so - we need a keeper who's actually playing.

A bit of form and maybe Arsenal will show an interest? I take the point about the shop window? Wonder if he will start against Ireland?

No chance of Arsenal signing him, he wouldn't be guaranteed to make their bench. Realistically, they (and he) would be looking for a medium sized championship club to sign him - a good season and he could look to the epl.

Couple of interesting comments beneath that article. Hennessey appears to divide opinion if that is an accurate cross-section...which he appears to do here too. I'm pro-Hennessey. A big fan. He needs to be playing regularly in order to get a move in January. He won't get a loan move though because De Vries has left so Jackett would have to promote an Academy keeper presumably. Rotting on the bench and in the reserves will do Hennessey no good at all if he's only played a couple of friendlies in 16 months

Pretty desperate stuff all round really.
He was due to join Yeovil(!) on loan for a month as cover for their keeper who has injured his hand.
From quite promising youngster to loan cover for Yeovil. Add this latest injury set back and it seems like his career has come off the rails a bit. Do clubs not rate him? Or is he now a big risk because of the money he is on at Wolves vs the likelihood of him completing a season?
Lets bae fair, if you were a chairman you would not be keen to commit to a couple of years of his wages knowing that another injury could be round the corner.
