Hennessy should have stayed at Wolves. He would have played all games between the sticks for them next season. It might not be prem but at least it's decent game time at Wolves. I'm interested to see if David Edwrds will be picked again seems as he's back in the championship?

Jackett prefers Ikeme. Plus they wanted him off the wage bill as he was still on championship wages which is ridiculous for a sub-keeper.
Wayne and his agent need to have a good look at themselves...although I don't suppose they care ultimately as they will have both made a few quid out of watching his career go down the shitter.
Such a strange move for all parties. Why would palace pay so much for a sub keeper? I can only think the plan was to ditch speroni and then speronis form has resulted in the contract offer and all of a sudden Wayne is out of favour for another season.
I wonder if any champ clubs will want him on loan for the season?

It's all man management. You don't drop the in-form Speroni otherwise all the players aren't happy the manager has dropped a good friend and it all goes down the shitter. If you don't offer him a good enough contract after playing so well in the relegation battle that also makes the other players unhappy because they think they won't get more for good performances. You don't just drop/let go a player that's playing well and bring in someone new because they're younger and better. Speroni will start off next season first choice and when he makes some mistakes Pulis will have good enough reason to play Hennessey. If he doesn't then Hennessey knew what he was getting in to and the risk hasn't paid off.
I'm sure Palace are happy to spend a few million on a sub goal keeper if it means the keeper on the pitch is doing good enough to keep the keeper who cost a few million on the bench.

Was fantastic tonight. Great saves at crucial times, big presence and good distribution.
He should go and tell Warnock he wants out. He is too good to be a bench warmer for Palace.
I was very surprised he was able to perform at such a high level given his situation!

I think he showed again tonight why he was so highly rated as a youngster.
Was voted MOTM by 73%, makes a change from Bale saving us

Once again proved his quality, our best keeper by a country mile.

I'd have made Joniesta MOM but Hennessey made a cracking save from the free kick. Still a little suspect under aerial balls in my view, but we have no better keeper for shot stopping. Excellent performance all around.

Fantastic performance. Who's our secretary of defence...? They may be out of a job.

Still our best option. Too good to be picking up his wages sitting on the Palace bench. Still a good age for a goalie. Could be our number1 for another ten years. As those who thought Letheren should of got the nod lol. .

Save from the free kick was really good as Pjanic had curled it to the other post from the same range 10 minutes earlier. Thought the save with his legs was crucile and when we were under the cosh from a series of corners he came though alot of players with a strong punch. As some else said he shouldn't be a bench warmer.

Wayne had an awesome game against Bosnia and just a moment of not concentrating in the game last night. Prob the best I've seen him play in ages! However, his kicking and distribution was terrible in both games. He just doesn't ping the ball like other keepers and the ball is in the air far too long. The amount of times players were free and he either didn't find them or the ball was in the air for an eternity. Such a shame cos he played so well otherwise. Hope Coleman gets him to work on it as better balls could set Bale or others free...

He needs regular game time more than ever now, but he has done himself no harm after his display v Bosnia. Thought he looked a little more on edge v Cyprus but a good run of games would cure that.

I'm hoping that after these two performances, a few clubs try to take him on loan. I can't see him starting for Palace any time soon

He went to Palace because of Pulis.
I know Pulis has always been a fan of Wayne, and am sure he intended to phase him in slowly over the current season. However with him now gone Warnock is a completely unknown quantity, Wayne would be sat theree waiting for a hell of a long time. If someone comes in guaranteeing 1st team football for him, loan or permanent, whatever the level, he should take it with both hands.

I see your point but I cannot agree with the 'whatever the level' part. I hope the days of calling up league 1 players are finally dead and therefore I would not want to see him (even on loan) at that level. On another note I was reading that pre-season some big clubs enquired about Fon Williams but instead he signed a new contract with Tranmere. Lack of ambition perhaps? Maybe he thought that he would not get any game time but if you keep missing big opportunities they will eventually stop coming.

I hope the days of calling up league 1 players are finally dead and therefore I would not want to see him (even on loan) at that level. Goalkeepers are a slightly different case to outfield players, whilst playing at the highest level possible in order to face the best opponents possible is still vital of course, ultimately its a keeper's sharpness that will let him down rather than any lack of ability. Wayne's shown only this week that his ability (whilst it can always be improved upon of course!) hasnt diminished, and its his sharpness we need to be concerned about rather than anything else. Even a drop to League 1 for 6 months or so will give him that in the short term if the offer's there. Long-term however yes I agree, we want him playing as high as possible, hopefully his exploits v Bosnia will have flagged his quality up with a few teams once again.

Neville Southall said on Radio Wales last night that he's been trying to get Everton to buy him for years! Also said the same thing when I was a caller on #callrob last year. Also previously said that he was critical Wayne for not being assertive enough and in some of the coaching received.

Osian Roberts was on radio Cymru and said that Hennessey had spoken to Neil Warnock about a possible loan move away from Crystal Palace. He said it was frustrating for him and Chris that he doesn't get first team football.

Would there be a premiership club willing to take him? Is he better than any other keeper currently starting in the PL?
He may need to look abroad if he wants first team football at a decent level.

The most frustrated in this is not Chris, Osian, Nev or even us it is clearly Wayne.

He should start for Palace tonight, Joe Allen for Liverpool too.
It's probably a bit too early for Jonny Williams...

Haha I don't support Palace, sorry my picture is a bit deceiving. I'll have to find one of Joniesta in a Wales shirt... I agree, he's too good to be sitting on the bench all the time and we need him playing regularly, a drop to the Championship wouldn't be a bad thing.
