Was just browsing a few Wales players twitters (yeah, I know, I should get out more...) and noticed Ashley Williams sent a link of this to Danny Gabbidon, with a message which said something like 'check this future Wales star out' or something like that. It is pretty impressive stuff for a 16 year old: www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5eVErrJQvY

"It's unbelievable really, he's a great player and we're lucky he's Welsh. He's come on amazingly in the last couple of months and on form he's got to be one of the best players in the world." - www.cpfc.co.uk/page/AcademyNews/0,,10323~2228218,00.html ...a lot of the crystal palace fans are hyping him up to be better than wilshere...brilliant.

There's a bit of confusion here. I'm pretty sure that's Williams himself talking about Gareth Bale.
Good to see the comments from Palace fans comparing him to Wilshere and Ienesta though.

Another good thing is that he has got a normal name. Looking at the U19s the other day and it was unbelievable the amount of Jordans in there.

A couple of positive comments about Williams "this kid is special. out of all the acadamy players who have come through, jon has def the most potential from reports and even what ive seen. and yes he is being labelled as a iniesta/xavi/scholes type pf player" "This kid is sensational, believe you me if we still have him in 12 months time i will be shocked! A number of premiership clubs are following him and have tipped him to be bigger than Wiltshire. Im just gutted hes not English! Forget Bostock being promising, Johnny williams will be the biggest and best thing to come throught the palace ranks! His touch, vision, speed and ability to read a game is far superior to anyone his age! Dougie, make sure hes in your plans, and please please keep hold of him!! " "Everybody seems to be comparing him to Wilshere. But I've never seen any other 17 year old run with the ball like he did tonight since I saw Messi play his first few games for Barca. Watch just how close the ball stays to his feet and just how great his control is on the highlights." "The boy is mustard, has a brilliant football brain and on tonights form had the ability to go on to really big things. I don't think it will be long before he is a regular starter for the first XI" www.holmesdale.net/page.php?id=106&tid=112895&page=2

I think the pertinent word in any of the posts above is "bostock". He's an important lesson in great hope going nowhere. But saying that, it's bloody exciting!

In regard to 'Bostock' - YES- I 100% agree. But then I've read other comments from Palace fans who've said they think Williams wants to establish himself fully there before even thinking about moving on... which suggests he's got his head screwed on right to me.
John Bostock should be a cautionary tale for any young, unestablished footballer who thinks he'd be better off moving to a bigger club. That he was at Palace should make it even more relevant to Jonathan Williams.

According to the DS Young Gun email Jermaine Easter has been raving about him on Twitter. I'm sure it hasn't been mutual

Palace is a funny club at the moment form a Welsh point of view- we've got three not particularly highly rated players there (Easter, Dorman and Price) and a kid some of their fans are comparing to Messi!

I have just come back from this game he struggled a bit in the first half but as the game progressed his contribution was very positive causing them problems he was fouled time and time again due to his abillity to accelerate quickly, he was involved in both goals tonight excellent at running with the ball with some subline passing to his teamates on occasions

NeilCPFC Neil Jeffrey Does anyone know how long Jon Williams' contract is? I'm hoping its stupidly long! #Joniesta #cpfc
NeilCPFC Neil Jeffrey absolute quality! Wouldn't surprise me if he got into the welsh main squad very soon.
NeilCPFC Neil Jeffrey I'm kinda hoping the English FA find out he has an English relative and pick him before he gets a welsh cap lol
we need to cap this lad now or risk him being another hargreaves.
