Welsh dad I think. He was born and brought up in Kent but has been in our teams since he was 14 so I presume he feels Welsh.

Get him in the next squad especially if the 21s are not playing!! He looks like a great prospect. However him Allen and Vaughan would be the shortest midfield set up ever!!!

Short like Barcelona's midfield?

Hey if they play like Barcelona you won't hear me complain.

Our next senior fixture is 7/10- the U21s have an important qualifier the next day. Speed should consider bringing him down to Swansea for the game vs the Swiss and bringing him on near the end. Then sending him up to Wrexham to play for the u21s.

Yeah wouldn't disagree with that. However, Speed needs to take these two games very seriously maybe blooding players won't be in his mind.

I agree Speed needs to take the games seriously. However, you could argue that having now scored more goals against premier league opposition than any other Welsh player this season (1!) Williams merits a place in the senior squad anyway.

What position is this kid playing for Palace? Does he play wide, cos that's what we need most right now.

Just got back from the palace game tonight Williams had a good game again & was substituted near the end, brought up in Tonbridge near Tunbridge Wells a pretty affluent area so he ain't gonna be another young player from Palace who will chase the money & end up in a premier league reserve team like Bostock & Routledge & Speed should have called him up for the England game last week when Bellamy was suspended with his pace looking forward to a welsh team with him and Bale in future and Bellamy ;D ;D

He didnt even post after the Oz game because we were so crap, but he managed to find his way back here to gloat after we beat Montego....and now hes gone again! If there were more posters like him the forum would be more like a quarterly journal- with GSLs latest missive available to download in pdf format.

What position was he playing in tonight newaddingtonwelsh? I had a peek on a Palace forum but it was inconclusive to say the least... they all seem to agree he looks a top player though even if they don't know where he plays!
Good news that you don't think he'll chase a big money move. Its so important that talented young players actually PLAY, even if it's not at the top level.

Give him 30 mins v the Swiss I say.
If he's just half decent at 17 we shouldnt take any chances with his dual qualification.

He was playing in midfield tonight www.thisiscroydontoday.co.uk/home"His Dad is a referee where I play football and he confirmed to me that Liverpool in particular were sniffing around but he wanted to stay at Palace and try and break into the first team this season. His Dad was as you'd expect full of praise for him and also very complimentary about Dean Austin and commented on how disappointed Jon was that he left. His Dad is a really really bad referee though!!!"

Joniesta took his goal very calmly cf Earnshaw. He's been called up for the U19s next week. It would be asking a lot of him to have a few minutes with the seniors on 7 October In Swansea then play for the U21s in Wrexham the following day. Could he be spared the U21 match on 8 Oct?
