I heard Rob Brydon congratulating the Welsh team on Twitter. I still haven’t forgotten he and the dark haired girl from Gavin and Stacey going on Baddiel and Skinner’s World Cup show back in the day and cheerleading for England because Wales were crap. How times change

Piers Morgan was on talk sport this morning. Like in 2016 he was declaring his Dads Welsh and he would be supporting Wales at the World Cup. I reckon he probably doesn’t even know we are playing England. He revealed it’s actually his stepdad that’s Welsh not his biological Dad so that means we can celebrate the fact that twat has zero Welsh blood. His advert for his TV show says something like ‘Love him or hate him, you can’t ignore him’ Challenge accepted. I’ve easily ignored him for years. You are not alone, his current show is watched by 10,000 people, which in tv terms registers at 0%. What’s more, he should be in jail. We don’t want or need his support. |

How times change Twitter is made for ‘celebrities’ to praise or latch onto something, particularly if it’s newsworthy. I remember the outpouring of comments from C-Listers following Bowie’s death, saying what a wonderful artist he was. As if David Bowie needs Jake Humphrey’s endorsement. It’s embarrassing. |

What’s the verdict on Cerys Matthews these days? I recall her being very very pro Welsh football in the latter stages of the 2016 Euros, blagging tickets to the games.
Iirc I checked her Twitter after a qualifier in recent years and not a mention.
I guess that’s the second rung down from being a sporting Uncle Tom (and an issue that England seem to have in particular), people who turn up for the finals and then forget the work that it took to get there.
Mind you, I never thought I would see the day when Welsh Johnny Come Latelys who only turn up for tournaments would ever be a thing! What a time to be alive! 😂

The good thing is that they won’t be able to fool anyone who has been around the block with Wales. Catherine Zeta Jones was tweeting yesterday for goodness sake, wasn’t she all over England at the last World Cup?
These muppets don’t understand that reflective glory isn’t the same as experiencing it for yourself & that is something that we will have over them no matter how much fame & fortune they have, they will never get to feel how we did on Sunday night.
It’s quite gratifying really.

As I said on another thread it feels more like it’s been about the journey to get to a World Cup than actually getting there- it will mean a hell of a lot more for those who watched us drawing with New Zealand and before that the Gould years. Back then most would never have thought they’d see World Cup qualification in their lifetime. The band wagoners will never know what it feels like after going through all that. |

Certainly hasn't tweeted any pro-England stuff during tournaments as far as I'm aware. Have seen her at the Kenny though, so while she might not be a hardcore fan, she definitely has more than a passing interest now. |
