As long as he plays every week without fail (unless injured, obviously), in either the first or second division, then it's an ideal situation for him. He has only really had half a season at Burnley, given he was injured when he joined and then caught that nasty infection. The only reason he would leave is due to their financial mess.

Apart from Cornet and possibly Tarkowski I can't see many suitors for Burnley's players.

He will be trying to do his best now with Wales over these June games to earn a move, no doubt about it.

Apart from Cornet and possibly Tarkowski I can't see many suitors for Burnley's players. Pope will have significant interest I expect (Spurs probably the highest placed club to be looking at a keeper and he'll be keen to be playing PL with the world cup midseason), Tarkowski will also be coveted given hes available on a free(Newcastle and Leicester heavily linked in January). I agree with you on Cornet particularly after reading earlier he has a relegation release clause in his deal and that he hasn't settled in England. Weghorst's stock in Germany in particular seems to have been largely unaffected by his struggles since his move - I could see him going back to the Bundesliga or possibly Eredivise. Given the paper talk regarding the loan I think they'll be unable to turn down reasonable offers for any players (Roberts, McNeil and Brownhill would be certainly worth considering for me). It is also likely they'll be unable to make significant additions

Pope is a very, very good goalkeeper Tarkowski can be made into a very solid defender by David Moyes Cornet is lively Roberts is a top flight level modern day full back
The rest are bang average Championship level or utter dross.

Gutted for him. It's been hard today knowing either James or Roberts was heading down to the Championship, and I have to be honest, Roberts has been showing more capability to play at the top level, whilst James has been dwindling. I can't see him moving on anytime soon though. Burnley will try and bounce straight back into the PL next season, so they will be doing their best to keep all their main assets. To be fair though, James could really benefit from rotation because of his playing style. He's so 100 miles an hour, it's like he burns out if he plays 90 mins every week. He played nearly every game when he first went to United, and quickly lost sharpness. Then when he came out of the team he started looking a lot sharper again when he did play. Because of Leeds injuries he's played every game and oftentimes out of position. If Leeds get Bamford back and James shares minutes with Harrison then I can see his performances improving

Palace have supposedly declared their interest. One to keep an eye out for & hope it happens. He deserves to be playing in the PL

Would be a good move, who's Palace's right back, is it still Ward?

Would be a good move, who's Palace's right back, is it still Ward? Clyne Given Clyne's injuries, age and everything else I would imagine Connor would replace him in the first eleven. It feels weird seeing players linked to Crystal Palace that haven't got dreadlocks, braided hair or cornrows, I've never known another side in Europe to have had such a steady stream of players with those hairstyles!

In reality, I think Roberts is somewhere in between top championship / lower prem level. His energy is incredible, he's ok defensively but isn't enough of an attacking threat to be a good prem player. His deliveries into the box are generally poor. The anomaly was in his last season in the championship where he managed to get a very good return, but I wouldn't expect him to get more than 3 or 4 goals/assists in a full prem season. I think he would likely be second choice to Clyne and Semedo, but still a decent move where he'd probably get around 15-20 games at a higher level.

Most prem teams would snap your arm off for 2/3 assists per season. Not many players get more than that.

Looks like he's going to be key for Burnley this season, playing very attacking for Burnley who've had about 70% of the ball. They're playing quite a narrow system, with the full-backs playing really high up the pitch. Maatsen the left back scored Burnley's opener, and Connor came very close to making it 2-0.

Burnley have been good. Huddersfield look massively off the pace including Sorba, who was terrible that half. Very similar to his first half performance v the Dutch in the last game, where he was just dispossessed almost every time, got out-battled and caught on his heels so many times.
Roberts has been very good. My only criticism would be that he's found himself in dangerous positions a couple of times, but just dawdled on the ball too long. I think that's the main are where he could really up his game, he'd create so many more chances if he'd play it in as soon as he has that half a yard of space, instead of taking that extra second.

Sorba was poor, but I wouldn't give anyone for Huddersfield anything better than a 3/10 that half. That being said, bit of a concern this season if this is the sign of things to come for them.
Sure, Burnley have been good but Huddersfield have been all over the shop.

If anything this game shows why Connor will always be ahead of Sorba in the pecking order

Playing well, covering a hell of a lot of ground (nothing new there)! Making a lot of runs into the middle and almost playing as a CM at times, also making a lot of runs into the opposition box, handy for Wales. Nice to see Mepham getting POTM for Bournemouth too.

It does look like he tried to handball it. Imagine trying to handball it, failing but it stays out anyway, still getting sent off.

All the pictorial evidence shows the ball coming back off the crossbar and not touching Conner's hand.I fully expect the red card to be rescinded. As I'm sure most Cardiff and Swansea fans would agree there are some really poor refs in the Championship but this guy Webb must be one of the worst. As it happens prior to the red card this had been Conner's best performance for some time.
