My biggest worry for Poland is Roberts. I just think he’s gone backwards as a player. He looks like a nervous defender and hardly crosses the 1/2 line as a Wingback. Roberts and Mephem have to produce their best game ever for us to get through Tuesday. If we do qualify I’d like to see Burns given a go their. It’s one of our weakest positions and if RND was fit I’d play him LWB & Neco RWB. Burns is injured at the moment. I think Burns offers a lot more than Connor going forward but haven't seen enough of Ipswich to be able comment on his defensive contributions. He hasn't played as a wing back for Ipswich in about two years I think, and looked very dodgy for us in that position against good opposition, so it's not an option we should consider imo. Better to play Neco as RWB and then give either Beck or Da Silva a shot at LWB. Hopefully Beck will get a championship loan move next year. But on Roberts, I'm not sure why people are being so critical about his performance on Thursday - I thought he was very solid defensively, looked far more comfortable and was decent on the ball. I don't agree with this 'never crosses the half way line' stuff and I'm sure his average position in that game would show he was generally fairly advanced |

He played very well tonight, if we had a cutting edge tonight this would have been a great performance all around.
