Reported to be imminent - perhaps a week or two. Hopefully, before he reports for Wales duty.
It's a win-win-win, for Roberts, club and country. As far as Wales is concerned, it's important that he continues to get regular game time, playing for a manager who's getting the best out of him. A premature move to a Premier League club would be bad all round, apart from Roberts' bank balance.
It's also important for Wales that Swansea get a good financial reward for the likes of Rodon, Roberts and James, should they leave - which they will in due course if they continue to progress. This would provide all the justification needed to continue to support the academy with it's Category One status - which helps to maximize the opportunity for young developing Welsh talent.

Connor Roberts has signed a new deal keeping him at the Liberty until the summer of 2022.
A well earned deal.

Good news, best place for him at this stage. He'll be playing regular football and should improve more and more in time for the qualifiers.
Edit: Asked Giggs for advice on signing apparently:

Hopefully he can continue to improve
Strange to think he is only a couple of years younger than Ben Davies

Conner had an excellent game v Sheff United. Looks fantastic going forward and has a great understanding with Celina. Playing today as a LWB - but showing such flair that I have never seen from Neil Taylor (or Gunts).
Seeing him fly down the left flank together with Daniel James is a thing of true beauty.
Great talent.

I only saw the first 70 minutes of this, but Connor didn't have a particularly good game. He got subbed after 73', which I assume was due to an injury or a knock, as the Swans were playing against ten men... Nonetheless, they really struggled and finally got an equaliser to make it 3-3 in the 95' ;-(

Agreed about Roberts - not terrible, but not one of his better games. He's played hell of a lot of games, so fatigue is likely to be an issue. Swansea have no cover at full back so I don't see him getting any rest any time soon. Bit of a concern ahead of the Slovakia game. Assuming he's over his injuries I'd like to see Jazz Richards return to Swansea on loan at least, he would provide great cover on both flanks.

A very honest self-assessment of Roberts' form of late: www.dai-sport.com/swansea-city-stalled-i-admits-connor-roberts/I concur - it's not that he's been terrible, just indifferent. Whereas at the start of the season he was putting in consistent 7 or 8 out of 10 performances, it's now mainly 6s with the odd 7 or 5. He's played hell of a lot of games, so he must be jaded physically and mentally - so I'd definitely rest him against T & T.

Don't be fooled by the scoreline - Swansea played very well last night, as they did against Norwich. Connor Roberts could easily have got a hat-trick. He struck the inside of the post with an excellent shot from a wide angle, as well as having a goal-bound effort stopped by a superb instinctive save. He must be so frustrated - but hopefully he can channel that frustration into his games for Wales.

Most players hit a flat spot after their breakthrough season. I think next season we will see his true level.

Has anyone seen Sane? Oh. Wait. He must be still in Connor's pocket ;-)
Earned a pen, blocked a certain goal and giving Silva and Sane nothing!
We have our Connor back!

Played very well (apart from the howler for their first goal).
A fresh Sterling couldn't get anything out of him and switched over to the other side.

Connor bagged a goal in the 71th minute against Middlesborough today. Didn't see the game but match reports suggest the Swans played Boro off the park with Roberts and James on fire

Didn't see the game but match reports suggest the Swans played Boro off the park with Roberts and James on fire That's what I heard too. Roberts has 5 goals and 2 assists this season for Swansea - not bad for a right back. The good news for Wales is that he's coming back into his early season form, after a lull mid-season. James also had a stormer - drawing the penalty for the first goal. To cap it all Rodon played the last quarter of an hour.

A Lot of Cherries fans want to sign this guy to compete with Adam Smith at RB. I'll admit I haven't seen a lot of him; does he seem PL ready? From what I've read it sounds like he's got a lot of the attributes Howe likes in a fullback.

I'd say he's PL quality yeh. Bournemouth would be a good move.

I honestly think Connor would be a good fit for Bournemouth. As a Wales fan and speaking from an entirely selfish perspective, it'd be great for him (and us) to get regular game time at the top level with his mates Meps and Brooksy! Are there any rumours abound at the moment that suggest that Eddie Howe is looking for a defender in Roberts' mould? He can be quite versatile from time to time especially on the goal front If you do sign him, please bring his mate, Daniel, along too

I'd gladly have Roberts and James haha. While you're at it can you throw in Ampadu as well?!

I'd gladly have Roberts and James haha. While you're at it can you throw in Ampadu as well?! An ampadu loan should be perfect for all parties. When match fit, I believe he's already premier league quality. It strikes me that you lack some defensive solidity and physicality in midfield, so ampadu would be perfect for you! Would be great for his development and therefore Chelsea too!
