Not sure if this has been mentioned, apologies if it has.
He's getting attention from Man Utd and Newcastle now, this follows a failed bid by Burnley (reportedly £75k).
I first noticed him as a sub kicking the ball around at half time during a game last season, looked to have decent technique. Might sound daft picking out someone just keeping warm but in the lower leagues you can spot a donkey just by the way he warms up.
He's been in an out of the side so far this season as he's still a kid.
However he looks a lot better than our other options, looks a handful running with the ball and looks the confident type.
I think when he fills out a bit he'll be a hit, at least our level anyway.
He's contracted at least until the end of the season I'm sure, and he almost got overlooked, he was released for a couple of days until the youth manager intervened.
May never make it big time but who knows? Some youngsters just get bettter and better...

Aaron Collins: Striker rejoins home club Newport County on loan www.bbc.com/sport/football/42546937Newport have signed striker Aaron Collins on loan until the end of the season from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 20-year-old came through the youth system at home club Newport before signing for Wolves in January 2016. Collins joins an Exiles forward line already boosted by Shawn McCoulsky extending his loan from Bristol City until the end of the season. McCoulsky, also 20, has scored 10 goals in all competitions this season for the League Two side. Collins has just completed a month's loan at Maidstone United, playing five games and scoring one goal for the National League side during December. Manager Mike Flynn said: "I have always kept an eye on Aaron and I feel I can get the best out of him. "He's talented and hungry, and after watching his performance on live TV for Maidstone, it's obvious to me that he's ready." Newport now also have striker Paul Hayes available. He joined in October as a free agent but an issue with his registration has prevented his debut. Aaron Williams and Jazzi Barnum-Bobb have both returned from their loan spells at Brackley and Torquay United. But Joe Quigley has returned to AFC Bournemouth following the completion of his loan spell at Rodney Parade. Newport's next game is the home FA Cup third-round tie with Leeds United on Sunday, 7 January.

Wolves youngster Aaron Collins bids for contract extension www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2018/03/20/wolves-youngster-aaron-collins-bids-for-contract-extension/The 20-year-old is currently on loan with League Two side Newport County where he's struggled to break into the team. However after a man-of-the-match performance against Luton on Saturday on his first start the youngster is feeling positive about his future. Collins is out of contract at Wolves this summer – where he's yet to make a first team appearance – but there is an option to extend it by a season. "Finally I’ve got my chance and hopefully I’ve proved that I’m good enough to stay in the team," Collins, who's back at the hometown club that sold him to Wolves in January 2016, told South Wales Argus. "I’m out of contract this summer but there is an option (of another year). "When I left I signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with an option in their favour. "So in the next month or two they’ll let me know if they’re keeping me on or not. "This is a great chance to prove that I should be playing and hopefully I go into the next nine games, do what I can do and we’ll see if Wolves reward me with an extra year."

Great news (I think...). Can't see myself having any sympathy towards the Wolves, after the way they treated Edwards and Lee Evans - but hey, if young Aaron gets a nailed on starting 11, I will reconsider ;-)
... which reminds me ... #AARON.(RAMSEY).PLEASE.STAY

Try not to post pointless interviews about player intentions, or manager intentions about players. The proof is in the doing it on the pitch of course. But if Collins I'm hoping it's promising that the combination of Wolves renewing Collins contract and the fact that Colchester signed the 21 year old so early in the transfer window is a good sign for the season ahead. It makes me wonder if he has been overlooked for the Welsh youth sides? Time will tell. ................................................. AARON Collins says he took it as a compliment that Colchester United wanted to sign him so early in the summer. www.gazette-news.co.uk/sport/16359396.aaron-collins-happy-to-sign-for-colchester-united/The 21-year-old attacker is hoping to nail down a starting spot in John McGreal’s starting line-up for the new League Two season, after joining them on a season-long loan from Premier League new boys Wolves at the start of last month. Collins, who spent six months on loan at Newport County last season, is one of a host of new players to join Colchester, this summer. Collins told the Daily Gazette: “The move was done early and I took that as a compliment. “You don’t get many loans asked for at the end of the season. “Clubs usually wait until the summer or the start of the next season. “I took it as a compliment straight away and if any other options did come up, I think my agent and I were both very happy with going to a top League Two side in Colchester. “It was good to get the move sorted on early in the summer, rather than go back to Wolves and then looking at my options. “It was nice to know exactly what I was doing and go in from the start of pre-season on day one. “There’s four or five new lads here and that’s made it easier to bond with everyone. “We’re all being welcomed at the same time and I was happy to get it done early. “I’d been looking forward to it all summer, as I signed early and I just couldn’t wait to get started. “The lads have been great and have all been welcoming – the new lads seem to have settled in really easily. “The manager has told us the goals for the new season and I think we all want the same thing, which is promotion. “A lot of them believe that it’s a good squad and we’re here to really push for that.” Despite his tender age, striker Collins has plenty of experience of playing in League Two. The Newport-born youngster has had two spells in the division with Newport and also played in the fourth tier while on loan at Notts County, in the 2016-17 season. “I was at Newport before I went to Wolves and I was at Notts County and then went back to Newport for six months on loan, last season,” added Collins. “I made close to 50 appearances and I know what League Two is about – I know what I need to do as a player and as a striker and I’m used to that. “Hopefully I’ll bring that here.”

He's banging them in for Bristol Rovers. Two goals today, and one last week. Scored 16 in the league last season, albeit in League Two, but so far he's showing he can do it at a higher level. Only 25 so one to keep an eye on if he keeps scoring.

youtu.be/mfIlyymJcD0Scored yesterday (skip to the end). Really well taken goal outside the box with his weaker foot. If you've got time I would go in YouTube and look at some of the goals he's scored, he can do the lot. Left, right, header, inside and outside the box. Fantastic player, think he could be one.to get a move in the Summer to the Championship

12 goals and 10 assists now, surely a callup is in the offing?

12 goals and 10 assists now, surely a callup is in the offing? Rovers fans thought he’d be called up for the World Cup 😂 I can’t see him being called up now. Needs a move to the championship and regular scoring there and *then* and only then will he be in line for the seniors. Good luck to him though. Seems something of a nifty player and is doing everything right so far.

He's having a really, really good season so far in League One.
Would be great for him to get move to Championship next year and, fingers crossed, score hat full of goal at that level too.
Kieffer rose up the leagues quickly and made impression on international scene because of his hard work and x-factor which causes defences difficulty no matter the level. I've not seen what Collins' x-factor could be yet so will need to work doubly hard, but we'd love a goal scoring striker to compete with Kieffer.

May as well get him involved in March first player out of EFL leagues to hit double figures in goals and assists. He won't be playing League one football next season regardless.

Hell of a comeback story this, Cardiff could do with him, he's doing all of the things that they want from Harris.

1 in 2 at League 2 level as an old 21 year old.
1 in 4 at League 2 level as 23-24 year old 1 in 3 at League 2 as 24-25 year old 1 in 2 at League 1 as 25-26 year old.
Not necessarily disagreeing with your conclusion, but he has had an awful lot of unproductive loans prior to being 21 which make his record look worse than it is and it's not like these goal scoring seasons have come out of no where as he's been getting slightly better each year.

This is obviously a bit of a breakthrough season where he's gone up a level. Personally, I'd rather wait to see whether he can sustain that level into a second season before a call-up is warranted. If we capped every player doing well in the third tier for a few months we'd have no consistency in selection at all. Let's not forget that Jake Cassidy looked like the next big thing in League 1 for half a season, as did Jephcott. If he was playing at a higher level, I'd get him involved, but he's not. That all changes of course if he does go up a division in this window and does well in the championship and does well at that level.

What is impressive (and may offer some hope) is that he tops the division 1 stats for BOTH goals and assists. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/league-one/top-scorersMy son also noted that he plays / can play a wide variety of positions, which I guess speaks highly of his footballing intelligence and versatility

Career trajectory is everything and if he sustains this he becomes undeniable as long as the likes of Mark Harris are still doing little more than running around and getting called up (I like Harris by the way).

I feel he could have been playing in the Championship already had he rejected FGR after his excellent spell at Morecambe.
No doubt he would have had League 1 suitors at the time, which could/would have, in my opinion, led to him plying his trade in the Championship already. Good player.
I don’t blame him for moving to FGR tbf, their finances are/were pretty strong, particularly back then.

Bristol Rovers will do well to still have him come February. For once sounds like we are holding the whip hand when it come to a player (unless there are clauses we don't know about) as he is still under contract for another 2 seasons. If he does go, would hopefully be for 7 figures plus.

He's just provided a brilliant assist for Josh Coburn to score the equaliser. He's becoming undeniable, on course for around 20 assists and 20 goals this season.

Does anyone in here think that Mark Harris, and I have to use him because he's repeatedly called up, would be doing what Aaron Collins, double figures for goals and double figures for assists, in League One right now if he was playing in it?
