Tbf to Harry Wilson yes he's not had the impact we all hoped for st club level, but he has had some niggly injuries in last 18 months.. this year he has played more consistently ( albeit u/23 level ) so let's hope he continues to stay injury free, and keeps improving... 19 goals and 9 assists this season shows he has talent

I read in the Daily Post a while back that I think he broke a bone in his foot and it sounded like Liverpool didn't allow it to heal properly, so he started playing again, but because he wasn't fixed properly he had to play slightly differently so it caused him some ridiculous muscle injury that could have been prevented. I think this was all before Klopp came in. It was his preventable injuries that stopped him progressing as much as he could have. But yeah, he is only 19, and some people develop at different rates to others.
I am positive he will become an integral player for our national team one day, because he is obviously talented and they don't make a 19 year old captain of their u23's unless they rate him.

I think Woodburn and Wilson will both be involved in the next squad, not named in it, but invited to spend the week with the squad for experience.

Before we all get too carried away, Harry has only scored 8 goals from open play and the rest were penalties. An excellent penalty taker, nonetheless!
I will only entertain Woodburn being on the Welsh bench, if he continues (at least more often than not) to be on the Liverpool bench.

Liverpool U23 are currently 5-1 up with Woodburn scoring the first and Wilson scoring 2 of the rest.

Wilson looks like he's bulked up a bit. Needed to of course but should it should help him when running and trying to hold off defenders. I really think Wilson should be let loose on Ireland. Know he's only got in because of Lawrence pulling out but he's dangerous and could do some damage. Combining with Woodburn: www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHTE6VlA5rg

Imagine this team in the next campaign (Euro 2020) for Wales: Hennessey
Gunter Chester Davies Taylor
Allen Ramsey Huws
Woodburn Bale Lawrence Attacking bench choices of: Robson-Kanu, Vokes, Wilson, J Williams, G Williams, Roberts, Bradshaw etc. Future is looking bright.

I'd hope Regan Poole will be ready for first team football by then too. I don't think Taylor's got more than this campaign in him as a starter.

Williams and Collins will be retiring after the World Cup campaign. Leaves us quite short on centre backs, so unless we see a few make a step up e.g. Walsh and Poole I imagine Taylor will still be around the first team. Unless Dummett finally takes over, or Davies gets a go at left back.

Davies and Chester as a 2 man CB partnership sounds very small to me. I really hope Walsh or Poole or Ampadu can come through. As a short term we may need to find another Chester type player with Welsh heritage

There's got to be someone with a Welsh grandmother they didn't know about!

I can see Dummett, Davies and Chester as our 3 centre backs, but will the new manager go back to 4 at the back
Ampadu and Poole could be pushing for call ups by then

It's amazing to be talking about an abundance of attacking talent when this time last year we didn't have 2 decent forwards to scratch our arse with!

...most of them are still young mind. I'm pleased for Wilson getting the call up but he hasn't achieved anything yet outside of U23s football. If he doesn't break into Liverpool's match day squad next season, he should go on loan to really challenge himself.

Congratulations Harry on your call-up & well deserved. Fairplay to Chris Coleman & the coaching set up showing trust & faith in these youngsters. With all due respect, how is his call up deserved? The lad has one senior appearance in the FA cup at Plymouth. Meanwhile the likes of Watkins has been scoring goals and providing assists and gaining match day experience in atmospheres like St James Park. Coleman's selection policy has baffled me at times but for this particular squad it feels like he has really lost the plot or sees it all as some sort of vanity project. I expect Wilson was called up just to train with the squad and has about as much chance of getting on the pitch as OFW but the flipside of this approach is that it devalues being called called up in the first place and must send a pretty unpalatable message to those players out there in good form that Coleman to prefers to pick what is, at this point in time in time at least, a novelty act.

1.Marley Watkins can count himself unlucky & fairplay he is playing well but Wilson has been involved in the Welsh system over a number of years that's his main advantage over Watkins who has never represented Wales at any level ? so obviously that counts a lot to Coleman & the coaching staff they know a lot more than you or I, maybe he has snubbed Wales in the past? 2.He is captain of Liverpool under 23's so is trusted by the Liverpool coaching set up & has performed well for them scoring a fair few quality goals & assists & even though its the reserves goals are goals & just because he has only played one first team game but he has also been involved/training with the Liverpool first team squad. 3.A Plan B, if things are not going to plan in Dublin bring on two attacking talented club teamates who know each others game to get a result. 4.Andy Dorman syndrome.
5.He is from North Wales.
I applaud Coleman for bringing in youngsters & having faith & trust in them like Toshack did.

To pick up on that point in particular, surely if goals are goals then we would see more under 23 players from prem teams making the squads of other nations with limited resources like ourselves? I stand to be corrected on this but it appears we are the only ones to put any stock in that standard of football. Are we maverick thinkers? Or just plain stupid/desperate? We will have to wait and see

It's definitely just for the experience, instead of say calling up Dave Cotterill instead which would not have added anything to the squad. Especially after his woeful outing against Serbia. Harry Wilson looks like he has a very bright future and I would prefer to see these sort of lads get called up to fill the 23 instead of your Church's and Cotterill's.
