He has to start alongside Allen on Monday. Also change both wing-backs with Roberts & Thomas starting.

Was checking out the caps in our squad now, and interestingly Wilson is behind only the following regulars; Gunter 105 Bale 99 Hennessey 97 Ramsey 68 Davies 67 Allen 66 Wilson 32 He's the leading caps holder of the "new school". Given he's averaging 7 appearances a year for us, and is now 24, if he plays for us until he's 32 he would be on 88 caps. Not outrageous to suggest he could reach the century. Might be a bit of a stretch, but if we keep qualifying for Euros I don't see why he couldn't do it At Ampadu's current rate he could hit the century aged 30, which would be an incredible achievement I'm not the only one who does that then 🤣 Dan James has to only be 10 off the top 10 Wales scorers. Top 10 is as follows... Bale 36 Rush 28 Ford 23 Allchurch 23 Saunders 22 Bellamy 19 Ramsey 17 Earnshaw 16 C. Jones 16 Hughes 16 Current squad regulars... Moore 6 Wilson 5 James 5 C.Roberts 2 Allen 2 Brooks 2 Neco 1 Jonny 1 You'd expect Tyler, Colwill & Brennan to get at least a handful each at some point

Just had a look at his stats and he had a decent return in League One but for Leeds he scored 7 in 51 matches in the Championship, he averages a goal in every 10 matches with only 1 in the Premier League. I understand he's young and developing but Neco has scored more for Wales who's younger and a defender. If there's anything about him it's got to start showing.

He's had chances to score, so he will get chances in the future & he's bound to take one at some point

Masterful performance tonight from him as Fulham ran out 7-0 winners with Wilson bagging a brace.
Played the 90 and was sensational throughout.

He is in good form, and I don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but I always get the feeling with Wilson that he looks very good when teams are on top and the game is fairly easy, but struggles more in games that are tight and where he needs to make the difference. Yesterday, for example, he scored the third and fourth goals when Blackburn were down to 10 men and Fulham were on top throughout. When the going got tough in our game against Estonia, he struggled to make an impact. In fairness, he did have a really important impact against Czech, but I do think he can sometimes be a bit of a luxury player who just adds gloss to games that are often already won.

One of the things that always pisses me off on here sometimes,is the "he's ok but will never be a ......(insert name of whatever English prem team they support),or the sneering" your just a cheerleader" Players develop at different rates and in different ways .Harry is the classic example of the difference between how we pick and develop players compared with England. The mantra you hear so often "he'll never make it " he's not got it" he's had enough chances" really depressed me sometimes.I think on the whole we are as a support better than that, comparing us with our neighbors is irrelevant our selection process is never going to be like theirs.

Wilson has always had buckets of talent
The problem was his inconsistency and tendency to even fade within games. Hopefully he is permanently addressing that this season. We certainly need him on fire for our play offs given Ramsey and Bale have somehow conjured up zero game time this season. Has there ever been 2 players earning this much and not playing almost the entire season for their clubs. Its quite unbelievable.

Not sure about that, it's been more of the same for me where he too often struggles to have an influence. He was excellent off the bench against Czech, but I thought he was very poor in the next game against Estonia and even in the 5-1 win over Belarus he was quite poor in my view.

I think Harry is the best outcome of this season from a Welsh footballing perspective. He got himself a permanent move to a promising club. Nailed down a starting spot. Got in amongst the goals as Fulham cruised the league and broke records. Will definitely be playing regular Premier League football next season. And has firmly established himself as a senior top flight pro His performances for Wales have been outstanding too, no matter whether he's played off the right, as a false 9, a number 10, or even as an 8 - he's been exceptional. For my money he hasn't been spoken about enough for what he's achieved See below a youtube compilation of his 24 goals and assists this season www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FXsVj3DaAw&ab_channel=APFootball

I think he's had a good season, but I'm not sure it's been much different to the Harry Wilson we saw with Hull and Derby. He's a top championship player, albeit with the tendency of drifting out of games. The one performance for us I remember being really impressed by was when he came on as a sub v Czech. He was brilliant, set up the equalizer and several other chances. However, there definitely have been quiet, disappointing performances too - in the very next game he was poor against Estonia away, he was quiet against Belarus, and I'm not sure how i feel about his performance against Austria. He pressed well at times, but we play him in midfield to add a little more creativity and are sacrificing a fair bit of defensive solidity to do that. I don't think he showed as much creativity as we would have liked, whilst the defensive frailties were apparent with massive gaps in the middle, directly leading to that chance they should have converted in the first 5 mins.

He seemed to be involved in everything positive that happened, culminating in winning the free kick that lead to the first goal and on the whole more than justified his selection.

His numbers are significantly better than when he was at Derby. In terms of goals and assists per season he's got seven more than he did at Derby, with seven games to play - added to the fact that two of his goals at Derby were penalties. His goals per minute at Hull were pretty outrageous, but over a small period of time. His output is definitely better, all be it at a better side. He's got a permanent home now though and he doesn't need to start over again next season, he's in with a side that he's settled at and he knows he'll be playing Premier League football next season.

Ok, but he's also in a much better team which you would expect to lead to an uptick, whilst his most productive spell of all (according to those stats) was in his first championship season with Hull. My main point is, I don't think he's gone to a new level this year, I think he's producing similar levels to what he's always done in the championship. From watching his performances, I'm not seeing much different. For example, watching the Fulham game earlier in the week I can't think of any influential moments from him at all, but then he puts in a brilliant freekick to set up the winner. That's always been Harry Wilson, with a few notable exceptions such as his second half performance against the Czechs.

Only Mitrovic is averaging more goals and assists per 90 than Harry Wilson did over that short period, the next closest to Wilson would be Matthew Godden with 0.81. It's far harder to keep those numbers over the course of a season, then it is to do so over a third of a season. Yes, Fulham are a much better side but to get in the side as a regular starter is no mean feat. He's played more regularly than anyone else in his position and he's got stiff competition there in Kebano, Reid, Carvalho, Onomah and Cavaleiro. I think this Fulham side is a better one than the players that weren't injured in the Bournemouth side that were relegated, and he wasn't able to get near the sort of game time and status he has in this side. I think the stats would show that he's come up with those moments more often over a course of the season than he has done before, and I think he's much more likely to have a successful season in the top flight next season then he ever has been in the past.

I think 11 games is a decent sized sample, and that was his first season when he was a teenager. So the lack of progress since then is disappointing. Having watched a lot of the games, I think he's still the same player, but he just has the likes of Mitrovic getting on the end of his crosses and plays in a team that are always on the front foot, which I think accounts for the slightly better numbers this season. But I obviously hope you're right on this! Time will tell - we'll soon see whether he has a better output / is more influential in Welsh games. As I say, aside from the Czech game, I don't think he's done that - but I know others have rated his recent performance far more which is fair enough.

Wilson needed regular football in a decent team in order to develop. He’s done well and become an important player for his club. He doesn’t need to be the second coming of Messi. He’s taken big steps forward this year and earned the right to another crack at the Premier League. We should be satisfied with that.
