Woodburn can play in many different positions across the front line and tucked in behind - giving us plenty of options - think he and Bale could swap consistently if both were on the pitch at the same time giving opposition headaches.

The outburst on Twitter & in the Press from ignorant English fans & writers who have only just woken up to the fact that Woodburn is Welsh is as predictable as it is hilarious. There are plenty of comments about him being English & Wales stealing him. The point that they are all missing is that in 2017 a player chooses Wales over England when for so long it was the other way around.

Fantastic news & congratulations Ben on your call up. Don't know if this article has been posted on here, but its a good read about our anglo's. "England have been trailing Woodburn for some time and Coleman’s number two Osian Roberts revealed how he encouraged the teen ace, and other dual qualified youngsters, to train with the Three Lions to ‘broaden their football experience." He is delighted to say that every single one of them has opted to still stick with Wales.Ouch. www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/rugby/rugby-news/inside-story-liverpool-fc-teen-12749801

Purely hypothetical, but if Woodburn does make his debut at 17 he could go on to get 50_60 caps. As he is the last line of eligibility (grandchild) if he married an English girl from his own village and had a son would that mean the son (despite being the son of a bloke with 60 Wales caps) would be ineligible for Wales?

Correct, unless she had a Welsh parent, of course, or the son was born or schooled in Wales.

Great news. Speaking of the future Mrs Woodburn, I am pretty sure she will absolutely and totally not understand why on earth did her hubby snub the many millions of pounds and untold riches of wearing a three lions shirt ...

Still no celebratory tweet from Woodburn. He's got old fashioned footballer written all over him.

I'm not 100% on this but I think any children or grandchildren Ben had would be eligible for Wales as he is Welsh in FIFA's eyes

Nothing else.

(Presuming he still bangs on about Wenger at every opportunity, I've stoppped listening to the prick)

Have found the odd clip online, admittedly when he's at his most tabloid, and just seems a horrible person

Have found the odd clip online, admittedly when he's at his most tabloid, and just seems a horrible person He's so (deliberately) negative about everything you wonder why anyone listens. As far as I can gather he doesn't like- - The FA Cup (until everyone else lost interest in the FA Cup then he remembered he liked it) - International football - The league Cup - the Europa league - people celebrating qualifying for champions league, - or celebrating avoiding relegation, - or promotion - or a last minute equaliser cos you shouldn't have been behind ( in fact you can only celebrate if you win the premier league or champions league, which means only two teams can celebrate all season) - Arsene Wenger cos he has been given too long - clubs who don't give the manager long enough Oh and of course, he doesn't think 'don't take me home' is a movie about our journey to the semis in France,he reckons we made a movie about failing to win Euro 2016 He just sounds bored with football in general. I know he does it in purpose but why do people tune in to someone deliberately being negative about football on purpose.

Wouldn't your kids be in the same position as Woodburn? Qualify through paternal grandparent? Easy answer is make sure you are back in Wales for the birth ;-)

He's good enough to feature in this game and it's a joke if he doesn't. He's our second biggest goal threat by a mile. I'd start him.

AGAINST PLYMOUTH!!! Agreed, would love to see him off the bench - and excite us like Jonny and George Williams did, but to start him would be ridiculous.

Gentleman seriously who do you think is more likely to score a goal him or vokes,Bradshaw? Also I love Allen he's so underrated in the world of football but let's not get deluded because he's scored a few for stoke. Ramsey's so low on confidence I don't except him to bang in a goal.
