If Football Manager has taught me anything its that you have to be 18 on or before 1/1/18 to not have to be registered in the European squad. Maybe his DOB falls before this. Football Manager has shown me that its 20 on the 1st of January isn't it? 4 homegrown at the club and 8 in the nation Alexander-Arnold is probably only listed to make up the 4 from the club thing, otherwise they wouldn't bother listing him as he'd be 19 on the 1/1/18. I thought champions league was 18, premier league 20 - maybe ive confused the two?

Alexander-Arnold is in the squad as he is currently in their team
The main concern is Solanki has been signed and is obviously come in ahead of Woodburn.
Can't see Ben playing much at all this season, unless he gets a move on loan

Kent had to be registered as he'll be 21 before the 1st of January, Woodburn doesn't have to be registered as he's still only 17 phillywelsh83 I've looked on UEFA's website and it says this for the 14/15 season: A player may be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 1996 and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday by the time he is registered with UEFA. Players aged 16 may be registered on List B if they have been registered with the participating club for the previous two years without interruption. List B is an unlimited list of players and is essentially where they put all the players who are 18 or under unless they're needed to fulfil the homegrown quote on List A

This question can also be posed of Swansea and indeed most club sides in Wales in the WPL as well as the English pyramid. It's telling that the national team is increasingly reliant on Anglos coming through. Almost all the outstanding talents in the age grade squads are Anglos - very few are Welsh born and bred. Criticism of Cardiff and Swansea is valid if they are not providing opportunities for young Welsh talent to shine. But I see no evidence of this. On the contrary, Swansea at least are recruiting more widely across Wales than ever before. For instance, the likes of Alex Samuel came from Aberystwyth - Swansea recruiting from Ceredigion was unheard of until recently. The problem seems to be that there seems to be a dearth of top-level talent in Wales at the moment. This may be a cyclical thing to an extent, but we also have to look at the fundamentals - which is the development of talent at grass-roots level. Clearly, the FAW Trust is doing some excellent work, and the direction of travel is a positive one - but the accomplishments of the Icelandic footballing system show how much further we need to go. I see Newcastle fans complaining they have spent £5mil on Joselu when they have local kids not given a chance. It happens everywhere. Back to Ben, he'll get chances I'm sure. He wouldn't have featured so heavily in pre season otherwise.

Lawrence featured for Leicester in pre season
Really can't see Ben playing much this season unless he goes on loan.
Maybe Cardiff or Swansea would take him so we could at least see a welsh international playing (as well as Jazz)

Oxlade-Chamberlain's arrival at Liverpool is likely to push young Ben further away from the match day squad. Surely Klopp has to let him out on loan now.

It was probably more to do with not wanting to continue as a wing back, I'm sure he'll happily play as a winger. Besides, Woodburn was mainly played in cm in preseason. AOC's arrival will definitely limit his chances further, a loan would definitely do him good.

Ryan Kent has joined Freiburg on a season long loan
That's one hurdle out of the way for Woodburn

If we get a comfortable lead against Moldova, he'll probably come on along with Ampadu. Maybe Lee Evans as well.

I'd love to be him right now! 'No rest for the match-winner'Ben Woodburn, speaking to Sky Sports: "The ball just came out of the air and I just tried to shoot it as quickly as I could. "It's a great feeling, I couldn't ask for much more from the fans. "I won't sleep tonight." Gareth Bale: "We won't let him sleep tonight."

Dear England
If you think that we somehow "stole" him (even though he constantly turned you down because he's Welsh) See his celebration for how Welsh he feels he is.
