Think it needs a few more lines:
I added a few what are the thoughts?
There's a starman playing down the right He chose to play for Wales and he’s set the world alight
There's a starman playing down the right His name is Benny Woodburn and he’s fucking dynamite
He told me: Let the Southgate lose him Let the Coleman use him Let all of Wales boogie
La lala la la Lala la la lala la la La lala la la Lala la la lala la la

How long has Woody been playing on the right? Have I missed something? A bit of a problem isn't it, given he plays on either wing. Somebody on a Swansea forum suggested the following alternative: "There's a star man, "Playing on the left, "His name is Benny Woodburn, "And he's the f*****g best." Doesn't work quite as well - but at least it makes sense. What about the multi-purpose: "There's a star man, "Playing left or right, "His name is Benny Woodburn, "And he's the f*****g dynamite." A bit pedantic - but at least it works in all situations (until he plays as no 10 or striker...)

The new messiah saves us again Fantastic run and cross. What a way to explode on to the international scene! Just hoping Liverpool and Klopp handle him the right way from now on - loan in January potentially?

Well we learned the kid is incredible versatile, can do most things and importantly - he is also two footed (something Bale and Giggs could never claim, but perhaps Ramsey could).
My main concern is that his versatility does not count against him, like it has for Ramsey at Arsenal. Hopefully Liverpool play him in his favoured position to take advantage of his attacking strengths.
Lets reflect - how many 17 year olds have come in and had such an impact on a qualifying campaign for any country as this kid has had in 50 mins or so?

Not many. But it's worth remembering that Jonny Williams in his first two games as a 19 year old had a massive impact in those two games. Helping turn a 1-0 defeat into a 2-1 win in Hampden, and turning in a MOTM performance against a Croatian side featuring Modric, Rakitic and Mandžukić. Let's hope Woodburn's Welsh and club career doesn't follow the same trajectory as Joniesta's...

I heard about a lad called Pele who showed good promise in Stockholm back in the 50s :-)

Liverpool message board loving our new song for Woodburn.
Some also noted how two footed Woodburn was. He scored almost as fantastic a goal from outside the box in their friendly a few weeks ago in Dublin.
What happens to Bale now? Is this good for him - to have someone else helping to shoulder the hopes of a nation? If Bale has lost his pace then maybe he needs to be moved over time to a central no 10 position and Woodburn gets the free role. Woodburn has everything - he is obviously nowhere near Bale in terms of pace, but until Austria I was not aware he was a dribbler and could beat a defender relatively easily and last night he showed he has a decent turn of pace.

Sorry - Jonny Williams impact was good but it is not in the same universe as Woodburn's impact in our last two games! I like Jonny and there are many different things you can bring to the party. However, when all is said and done - putting that ball in the net and setting up opportunities on a regular basis is priceless. Jonny keeps the ball, can win free kicks in dangerous positions, but he neither scores goals or assists. Woodburn and Jonny is not a comparion.

Beware of the hype and pressure that shall be going on that kid's shoulders going in to the next two games. Let us not forget either that George Williams had big hype after his cameos against Cyprus and Belgium......

I accept he won the free kick versus Andorra but no direct goal or direct assist. People got excited when he beat 1 or 2 players then lost the ball!

That's being a bit simplistic hookd. Don't be fooled by headline stats. Players can contribute a tremendous amount without any assists or obvious stats. In the Scotland game Williams fed King who crossed for HRK to score. HRK gets the glory, King gets the stat and Jonny Williams gets nothing. But his influence in those two games was similar to the influence that Allen has on games - pulling the strings and setting the tempo. Not directly comparable to the sort of headline grabbing performance of Woodburn (which came against lesser opponents), but important nevertheless.
Above all else, what I pray for with Woodburn, is that he avoids the injury problems that have plagued all our most talented Welsh players: Bale, Ramsey, Allen, Joniesta, Huws for starters.

Is it bad that when I saw him on touchline waiting to come on, in my mind, my middle finger was pointing at England, and when he scored, I was actually mooning them. Is that bad of me? lol Personally don't like that attitude, it's small nation syndrome. Don't get me wrong, I have no time at all for England. But why let them define us like that? In a moment of ecstasy for Wales, England shouldn't enter our thoughts. Well sorry if I offended you at all with that, but tbh don't think I am the only one who felt like that. I have had England fans having a go on Facebook telling me that Wales is a s**t place etc etc, and have you listened to Adrian Durham lately ?. I am sick to death of English fans thinking they are above us in every way and just can't help myself feeling that way. Its not a small nation syndrome to feel like that, when since the Euros the rivalry between us is 10 times bigger, as expressed by our players cheering when England lost etc and the wry smile on Bales face when asked about Woodburns allegiance. Its the same thing.

Forever and ever and ever and ever and ever lol Great isn't it, apparently never in doubt though, grand father from Swansea ive heard. We'll only succeed as a nation when we stop defining ourselves against our larger neighbour.

So I take it you won't be getting on board with my idea for a 'stick your England up yer arse ' chant then, because I was kind of hoping you would

The incredible amount of media attention Ben Woodburn has received for his remarkable contribution to Wales can only help us in persuading Anglos to stick with us. The guy must feel like he is on cloud 9. I just sense he has the same incredible temperament as Bale and Ramsey and will take everything in his stride, helped by a good family behind him.
Previously highly talented kids could have believed they could earn much more with England / enjoyed a much greater profile, but they have seen the profile Woodburn has got this week and realised that this is not the case anymore. They will also avoid the unrelenting criticism from media and fans when out of form. Also they will have seen how warmly us Welsh fans embraced him in Cardiff and what an amazing atmosphere it created. Finally, they see they can get the opportunities at a young age and will not just get banished to the nearest dustbin when their form dries up.
PS - thanks to all you wonderful fans responsible for donating to charities when visiting deprived countries to follow Wales. You are not only a credit to the country but the human race.

Might explain why he hasn't been involved at all so far Klopp added: “He came back after the summer break and was not in the best shape. Things like this happen, he’s 17. “But even when he’s not physically in the best shape, he’s still hard-working. He had good games in pre-season, and you could see in the last two or three weeks that everything came back, the speed was back, he was cheeky again, played brilliant football. He’s very football-smart, and we are happy to have him and to help him in each part of his development."

Looking positively at him not being on the bench then I guess the double header probably exhausted him physically and mentally.
Also what would we prefer? Him not playing much for Liverpool first team may be good as he will be totally pumped up for our final double header, albeit it would be good if he got a couple of sub appearances for 25 mins before.
Am annoyed they brought in 'I want to play centrally' Oxlaide-Chamberlain. The guy is over 24, blows hot and cold and definitely does not have game awareness. The one advantage he has over Ben is his pace - but he does not want to play on the wing! I am concerned he is going to hog the bench and keep Woodburn in the U23s. I like Klopp being protective of Ben but that should start with him being used off the bench not totally out of the squad. Ben has the same awareness and versatile skill set as Ramsey had at his age - which is extremely rare for a British player!
