Looking positively at him not being on the bench then I guess the double header probably exhausted him physically and mentally. Also what would we prefer? Him not playing much for Liverpool first team may be good as he will be totally pumped up for our final double header, albeit it would be good if he got a couple of sub appearances for 25 mins before. Am annoyed they brought in 'I want to play centrally' Oxlaide-Chamberlain. The guy is over 24, blows hot and cold and definitely does not have game awareness. The one advantage he has over Ben is his pace - but he does not want to play on the wing! I am concerned he is going to hog the bench and keep Woodburn in the U23s. I like Klopp being protective of Ben but that should start with him being used off the bench not totally out of the squad. Ben has the same awareness and versatile skill set as Ramsey had at his age - which is extremely rare for a British player! Oxlade-Chamberlain is one of the most over-rated players in the Premier League, scored 9(!) in 132 league games for Arsenal, never got more than 2 league goals in a season and could potentially stifle the development of youngsters, including Woodburn, all that for the measly sum of £35m. Very poor transfer from Liverpool

Mane suspended for 3 games, so hopefully we will see Woodburn make the bench. I doubt it mind because Coutinho will be back.

I really dont see why clippety didnt put ben on the bench at least seeingbas he only had 45-50 mins game time in 2 matches for us
After mane got the red lpool were totally lost and having Ben on the bench would have given them an option
As i say poor by clippety klopp

The incredible amount of media attention Ben Woodburn has received for his remarkable contribution to Wales can only help us in persuading Anglos to stick with us. The guy must feel like he is on cloud 9. I just sense he has the same incredible temperament as Bale and Ramsey and will take everything in his stride, helped by a good family behind him. Previously highly talented kids could have believed they could earn much more with England / enjoyed a much greater profile, but they have seen the profile Woodburn has got this week and realised that this is not the case anymore. They will also avoid the unrelenting criticism from media and fans when out of form. Also they will have seen how warmly us Welsh fans embraced him in Cardiff and what an amazing atmosphere it created. Finally, they see they can get the opportunities at a young age and will not just get banished to the nearest dustbin when their form dries up. PS - thanks to all you wonderful fans responsible for donating to charities when visiting deprived countries to follow Wales. You are not only a credit to the country but the human race. Yeah, I was looking at Ampadu in the centre circle at the end of the gme and he was clapping th fans and looking at the stadium going mental, bound to make him think he's mde the right decision.

Just have a look at the way Ampadu celebrated with Woodburn at the end of the Austria match. It's very brief, but quite telling, I think.

But think he is likely going to get some game time this season with Liverpool being in Europe. He certainly will play cup games and some European games i would think (if they have qualified) and the odd league appearance. He is at a good club to develop, delighted hes not with Chelsea or Man City!

Why is he playing for the U19s? Obviously Klopp will know how to nurture his talent far better than me, but from a Wales pov it would be nice for him to have some high-intensity football before the next double-header!

Did more in added time than Chamberlain did in 90 minutes, If Chamberlain is in the squad ahead of Woodburn on Saturday, well...

Looked more composed and capable than most of the players that started the game. That one effort on goal was so close to being another worldy, very unlucky not to nestle in the top corner.
Unfortunately, with Liverpool being knocked out that's probably the end of his first team involvement for a while. He deserves more on the back of that showing.

He showed really good quality again tonight but not enough to force his way closer to the first team imo. It was a bit of a mixed bag, he seemed to get better and better as the game went on but lost the ball a few times and made a few mistakes initially. He showed some really nice touches later on in the game though, made a few good runs and almost slotted one into the top corner!
He's got what it takes to become a really good player but still has a fair way to go.

thought he played ok, but cant see him breaking in first team and maybe its for the best for him and wales. start playing at a young age and could burn out.

Could benefit from a championship loan. But I would worry about him playing 40+games at such a young age, no doubt getting kicked in the air a lot of the time. Perhaps u23s is fine at this stage.

if you're good enough you're old enough - didn't seem to do Giggs any harm - he didn't burn out. Should be playing ahead of Oxlade - Wenger must be pissing himself all the way to the bank.
