Next season will probably define his career.
Maybe a case of too much too soon after Austria

From the Athletic:
"Liverpool forward Ben Woodburn has attracted serious interest from teams in Greece, Denmark and Croatia this summer, reports Caoimhe O’Neill.
As well as the interest from clubs abroad there are also a few teams in the Championship who have asked about the forward’s situation.
The 21-year-old put in a standout display against Osasuna on Monday night to round off an impressive pre-season campaign which has seen him blow Liverpool’s coaching staff away with his performances.
Anfield sources told The Athletic that Jurgen Klopp, Pep Lijnders and Peter Krawietz have all been impressed with Woodburn, who is performing on a level they have not seen from the player previously. The Wales international has been described as “out of this world” in training and has been credited by Klopp and Co as helping raise the level of the sessions.
Woodburn is said to be one of the players who continues to stand out in training sessions and has done since March. Liverpool would at this point be reluctant to allow the attacker to leave. However, The Athletic have been informed a serious offer might change the club’s stance.
Woodburn, who is now entering the final year of his contract, joined the academy at Under-7s level and for this reason Liverpool do feel a loyalty to the player based on his service and connection to the club. For this reason and his recent performances The Athletic understands it would be difficult for his coaches to see him move on — but that will only happen if a fantastic opportunity were to arise."

Ha, I'm definitely not going to raise my hopes too much after a couple of decent pre-season friendly performances. It is more that I was starting to lose all hope in him making the grade, and now there is a glimmer of a hope that he could become a decent prem player and an important player for us.

The ox and the donkey (Millner) both starting ahead of our Starman.
I think Kloop is planning on doing an Austrian entrance for him ;-)

Interesting to see that he is on the bench though. That's definitely a promotion of sorts. Disappointing to see that Elliot came on ahead of him in CM though

Yeah, that is telling. They play with three in midfield, but he seems to have Henderson, Thiago, Fabinho, Keita, Milner, Chamberlain, Jones, and Elliott. That's 8 players. His best chance is to impress in a cup game, potentially make a few cameos on the back of that, and then get a championship loan move

Going on loan to hearts apparently. Bit underwhelming but could work out for him

Hearts fans on twitter saying that they have lots of central midfielders, so expect him to play as a number 10 or a winger

Played more than 60mins in Hearts' 2-0 win over Levitt's Dundee Utd. Didn't score or assist, but appears to have played very well. Usefully, people can rate players in scottish prem games on bbc, and Woodburn got the highest rating out of anyone - 7.82. Not bad!

Levitt seemed to have a poor one though - only score about 5.3 (which was higher than most dundee players) and was subbed after 54mins

Fair quotes from him at the end - his reputation so far has been based solely off his goal vs Austria and a handful of appearances with Liverpool, 4 years ago. Glad to see he doesn't intend on dining off that for the rest of his career like a lot of young players would.

Good for him.
Hope his luck changes. The interview suggests he is now more focused than ever to develop as a player.

Good attitude. He's been really unfortunate with injuries and bad loans but the talent is still there, and he's still only 21. Definitely think he'll play a part for us over the next few years. Just hope he has a productive year up in Scotland and then gets himself a good permanent move next summer. He's out of contract next summer so he won't have to suffer the same way as Wilson where Liverpool get greedy and reject reasonable offers against the best interest of the player.

Having a good game for Hearts. Fans very impressed with him on social media. Looks strong and composed, and just fed a lovely pass through for someone to have a shot on goal.

Playing well in the Edinburgh derby
He is driving play forward, extremely creative and fired a long range effort that just went over the bar.
Watching this then you'd wish he was subbed on versus Estonia as he has shown something that was a bit lacking in that match.
He or Johnson should have been brought on for Wilson not Joniesta
Lets hope he stays fit as their is a very good player in there.
