Ben is on the bench again today v Bournemouth. Looks like Klopp is really pushing the lad Yeah, watching that now and was happy to see that he is in the squad again. Though,In some ways it might be better for us long term if he didn't play for the fist team at Liverpool and was low profile for a while, England have plenty of other players and he may slip under their radar. He's already fully exposed now there is no going back to relative obscurity. Fingers crossed that the current media's talk of him being annoyed at the departure of Geraint Wills and Dave Hughes is hot air.

Think Ben did enough in today's FA Cup to cement his place in next week's EFL Cup. Played fantastic on the left flank previously, and today really dominated the centre of mid-field.
Well done, Ben!

He played very well but let's not get too carried away as no offence to Plymouth Argyle "who did well over the two games BTW" he needs to play in Premier League matches to see if he can be the next big thing in Welsh football.

Agreed, don't want to get carried away but after last night's 2nd half performance I'd say the Ramsey comparisons are justified.
If he becomes even half the player as Rambo it bodes well for Wales.

Rambo has successfully become half the player he was, so Ben Woodburn has every chance. But, yes, he was very good, especially second half. A forward player coming deep into midfield and dictating the play as if he's done it for years bodes very well for someone so young. If he can stay around the first team over the next 6 weeks or so he has to be in line for a senior call-up.

Am I the only one who was a bit disappointed with Woodburn in these two games? He didn't do badly by any means, but I don't you can say he played fantastically well.
In both games he's been far too happy playing the ball backwards and sideways against a team parking the bus than trying to create an opportunity by dribbling or playing it through them. That's how you open up these teams. He'll learn that more in the future, and his goal record shows that he's certainly mastered this at U23 level, but usually raw youngsters are a lot more brave on the ball. It could be a good thing or a bad thing, only time will tell.

He's not at top form, but he's gradually getting there. He's the ultimate confidence player and once he gets that back, we'll see his Euros form again

Ramsey is a flake at best. He's had a few good moments, but unless it's one of the rare games where he's at the races he's increasingly pretty hopeless. One bad pass can mean six more are on their way and he either starts playing everying short and backwards or goes too far the other way and tries (usually unsuccessfully) to do too much. If decent options emerge I won't be sorry to see him benched. Although, of course, it's sad he's nowhere near the player he once promised to be.

He won't be benched because, as far as talent goes, he's our second best player. The challenge is to get him to perform at the level he's capable of. When he plays at his best, he can run a game for us like no one else can and I'd go as far as to say he's the best midfielder we've ever had. I firmly believe that, very soon, he'll get his form back and everyone will be raving about him again. You'd struggle to find any other Welsh fan who shares your view on Ramsey, that should tell you something...

Ben is keeping his spot on the bench. He is sharing the bench with 3 or 4 players that would walk in to any first 11 of most other Prem teams. This, I think, is credit to Ben, as it shows his versatility and real potential.

Ben played and scored in today's U23 match v Ipswich U23. Also had an assist and another goal overruled. Would be great to see him play in EPL on Wednesday - but being a semi-final, Klopp might be hesitant?

The way Liverpool are playing this week, they will need Dean Saunders and Ian Rush to partner Woodburn upfront to have any hope against Dave Edwards and Co on Saturday ;-)

Decent performance today, easily Liverpool's best player. Worth a call up for Dublin? surely a better option than Cotterill, G. Williams etc.?
On a negative, I doubt he'll play again for LFC this season now they're out of all cup competitions!

On a negative, I doubt he'll play again for LFC this season now they're out of all cup competitions! Agree with you that he played well today. I have a feeling that he has done enough to actually merit his continued inclusion on the bench with the seniors. He certainly seems to be very adaptable and plays well on left and right wings as well as in the centre of mid-field. He also does not shy away from defending duties (nudge nudge a certain A. King). I really can't imagine him been thrown into the away games in Dublin and Belgrade. If all else fails and TWO of Ramsey / Allen / Ledley/ Edwards / King are injured ... then he certainly gets my vote ahead of Huws and Cotterill. Sadly, I can't see George Williams included in the squad this time around.

Would like to see him in the squad, possibly as an impact player to come off the bench although if Bale is fit the attacking impact is likely to be Lawrence as I don't see Cookie changing too much, That said if he makes the bench I certainly see the logic in capping him

One swallow does not a summer make. Ramsey is a flake at best. Making the Euro 2016 team of the tournament was extremely flaky

Unbelievable. Are you the ť**t that sat behind me in the Slovakia game and told me Johnny Williams should start instead of Ramsey.

Saw another 90 mins of Ben and Harry with U23 v Spurs U23 (ended 3-2). Ben was excellent in midfield. His awareness and creative passing are amazing for a 17 yo. When going forward, he always seems to make plenty of space for himself. I can really see him in 2 years or so teaming up with Allen and Ramsey. What a prospect!

There's some real class between the pair of them. If they don't get first team chances at Liverpool next season then time to go on loan at an ambitious champ side to show what they can really do.

On for the last 10 mins away at Leicester. Obviously still has a part to play this season. Fascinating. If King can't make the first team when his mate Shakespeare is in charge, and Woodburn can - maybe we are witnessing the changing of the guards ;-) If Woodburn remains part of the Liverpool first team squad for the next 3 weeks, I really can't justify him being left out of our 23.
