Spot on manulike, and that seems to be one of Woodburn's main attributes. He doesn't look it, but he acts incredibly mature and never appears to be phased by anything. He knows what to do almost every time. Lawrence is faster and more powerful, but doesn't have the same game intelligence. Jonny Williams is another who doesn't have great decision making - he's a fantastic dribbler and brilliant technically, but he's never sure when to give it and to who which is why he doesn't have as much of a meaningful impact on games. That's something the coaching staff have stressed to him, that he needs to be more aware of who's in space around him when he goes on one of his runs. I see this in Ramsey when he's off form too, and it showed against Moldova. Time and time again he wasted seconds looking for a killer ball to play, eventually resorting to the simple pass having killed all momentum. Unless its clearly on, the 'killer pass' becomes a hopeful pass, and it is the hopeful pass that should be the last resort, not the simple pass. Ramsey all to often kills the tempo and momentum in its tracks by not playing the simple ball quickly enough. It's as though he's desperate to have major impact on a game. This is one area where Allen is a better player than Ramsey - and Allen's more daring passes by and large came off against Moldova too (and witness his frankly superb play that lead to the chance at 18 minutes... the way he defended by knocking the ball into space and then playing that long pass was fantastic.) Such an intelligent player, although he is liable to lose the ball in dangerous position every now and again.

First, allow me to stress that I have every confidence in Tom and unless injured, I would like him to start v Georgia. The Georgians are technically gifted and we need his defensive awareness, as well as his trickery. Allen, Ramsey, Tom and Ben will be magic.
As much as I love Rambo, I do agree that he gets a little too frustrated at times and then tries far too hard - to force the killer pass, which often ends up being wasteful. That was particularly the case in Lens v England

I think he is good on the ball, and create space well. But he is so lightweight, gets knocked off the ball so easy it makes him pretty easy to defend against. But he does have decent footwork and when he passes quick and has good movement he is good for people to play off.

Agree with comments re:Ramsey, he also gets dispossessed in dangerous positions, holding on to the ball too long. On his day he's brilliant, but as with Bale at the moment something's not quite right.

Excellent tonight, well done Tom. Was good to see you out in Moldova, albeit briefly. Genuinely happy for you when Derby signed Lawrence.

Excellent tonight, well done Tom. Was good to see you out in Moldova, albeit briefly. Genuinely happy for you when Derby signed Lawrence. Took a long time to seal deal but eventually got him. All ready big hit with his crossing and corners. What I liked last night was his smile as he was little selfish and went for goal instead of pass across goal, he looked across to Nugent and both grinned at each other, showing a settled Tom and confident in him. Ok we was 4nil up then so you can forgive being selfish. But overall great start for tom. Meant to chat to you more but you looked in crowd and busy

Disappointing? That was more Bale than Bale these days.

That goal was very reminiscent of a 23-year-old Bale.

The runs Tom makes can be very productive as he showed tonight, doesnt link up that well but I hope he works to improve his all round game.

He can be hit and miss but we've got to be patient with him however long it takes. People were giving up him months ago. As if Wales are blessed with depth.

Said before he tries to do to much at times. Few goals at derby needed so he can get that stigma of his back ... Saturday on sky is the day.

I think he been passed from pillar to post in his career so far, just needs to settle getting regular first team footy and I think he will be one of our best players. Would actually like to see him at Swansea, but then I also want Dan James to break through this season.

Talking of Swansea, Lawrence reminds me a bit of Jordan Ayew - terrific skill and work ethic, but lacking in awareness and vision. Lawrence is more of a team player - but needs to improve his decision making to become the top player that his technical skillset suggest he is capable of being.

What a great run by Lawrence for Derby's equaliser with a great lay off for Vydra to score.

What a great run by Lawrence for Derby's equaliser with a great lay off for Vydra to score. Superb run and what determination to win the ball back. Played 15 games so far for Derby and only 2 yellows, which I find quite amazing as he certainly didn't shy away today from going in hard with his tackles.

Do you know what? I think he has found his feet as an international player hasn't he? He has scored 2 incredible goals for Wales in 4 games and looks much more confident. Shame he had an anonymous day versus Ireland but he is getting more consistent all the time. The greater awareness we have been seeking him to find for Wales is obviously there for Derby. If someone was scoring goals like that 12 years ago we would be over hyping him to the sky - it is only because of Bale we are not! I think maybe he could emerge to be as important as Ramsey, Bale and Allen. I'd say he is a bit like Giggs - he has less innate awareness of others but is a far better finisher. I think he would thrive under Giggs.
To think Huws was doing as well as him until he got 2-3 years of continuous injury problems. Hopefully he gets a break (in a positive way!).

I heard that he was very highly rated by Giggs when he was at Utd and none to pleased when Van Gaal sold him.
