Looks like he was made in Japan or the USA, at the risk of stereotyping.

If we had the iron man war machine as a holding midfielder instead of Crofts, we'd not only qualify for the next world cup, we'd probably win the thing!

Henderson substituted at half time today. Allen superb as usual. Yeah, he was. I'd like to see him play against Norway from the beginning to be honest.

I'd like to see him play against Norway from the beginning to be honest. ............. After the way he played vs Bulgaria and particularly Switzerland I think that's almost a given. Speed was at Anfield today too. No offence to the Jacks on here but if Allen keeps this form up he won't be at Swansea by the time he's 23/4. Tottenham, Arsenal or even Liverpool perhaps....

Would love to see him in a spurs shirt, sell ratface for 40m to chelski and get Super Joe in.

I think Spurs would suit him. He's not dissimilar to Modric- small, excellent technique, doesn't score enough goals...

I'd far rather see Allen at a big mainland European club than an epl 'giant'.

Allen seems to be doing fine at Swansea. Why the agitation for a move?

Why the agitation for a move? ------------------------------------
No agitation. I just said that if he keeps this form up (in the EPL and for Wales) he won't be at Swansea by the time he's 23/24 (he's 21 now) Which I think is true. (correct me if I'm wrong but I think Brendan Rodgers alluded to something similar recently when he said Swansea was the best place for Joe to develop over the following 2 or 3 seasons. I assumed from that he expects him to move to a bigger club eventually too) Even back in the 50's/60's when there was a lot more club loyalty Swansea struggled to keep their best players- Mel Charles went to Arsenal, Allchurch to Newcastle...

UPDATE. Superb again tonight when he replaced Routledge half time against Manu.

Swansea is going to be limited in what it can do financially. Even if they did have the money it's very unlikely they would splash it out on a player when it could be invested in developing the club. So I think it's a given that some of the players will leave once a big club comes in for them. I'd also agree that I'd rather he went to a European club than a "big" prem club.
I'd very much doubt the players had the choice in the matter. If the big boys came in with some of the stupid figures they've been paying for their inglish counterparts then Huw Jenkins would drive them up personally.

Made a big difference when he came on. certainly doesn't look out of place in the EPL.
Was very impressed with Ashley Williams too. Read the game very well I thought and decent distribution.

I'd rather wait another year and see if any bigger Projects are available, either in epl or abroad. If not, he can always move to liverpool then.

I tend to think that with him being only 21 years old there's no rush to move either. another season or two at Swansea playing for his hometown club in a system and style that suits won't do him any harm whatsover.
If however, Liverpool are serious and he makes it clear he'd like to go (and lets face it, most of us would- even the Swans fans if they're honest) then Huw Jenkins should say 'we think he's at least as good as Jordan Henderson, so we'll only accept an offer that matches what you paid Sunderland for him' (about 16 million wasn't it?) And then Swansea should build a proper training complex, and become a real centre of youth football excellence in south west Wales.

Good point, and seeing as he's just signed a new four year deal it shouldn't be too difficult to hold out for a decent fee. I'd say 15m is about right.

He's yet to show the potential to be a top 6 premier league player in my opinion. If Swansea go down I can see him staying.

What?! And Jordon Henderson did when he was at Sunderland did he? Funny, cos I don't really remember it...
The Switzerland game at the liberty was the one where he really showed top level class for me. I thought he was the best central midfielder on display and the Swiss midfield was made up of 3 Basel players (last 16 of the champions league), Inler of Napoli and Behrami of Fiorentina.

No, Jordan Henderson didn't at Sunderland and since going to Liverpool he's been even worse than he was at Sunderland.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if this deal happened because its Liverpool and look at their recent signings record but I'd be even less surprised if Allen was as bad as Henderson is currently while playing for them.

dalglish isn't brilliant in the transfer market.
if someone gave me £75million to spend im pretty sure i would come up with better players than carrol, henderson and downing.

I think most of us would! Or would like to think so anyway. Its not far fetched that Liverpool might offer 8 million (roughly half what they paid to sunderland for Henderson) for Allen. And with Swansea a smaller club than Sunderland, although they'd like to drive the price up, I still reckon they'd be tempted a by a figure in that ball park...

bellamy influence on dalglish maybe? news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/league_of_wales/9427163.stmThere's your answer! I'm not stunned to hear this mind, there was whispers of it going around against QPR Tuesday night that bids would be coming in for Joe and other players in January. Huw shall only be tempted if it's a big offer and Joe signals his intention to go, I agree with the majority here that he's better than Jordan Henderson, but my only concern if Joe left in January [that's highly unlikely] is that he would be going whilst not in his best form currently. He should wait a further season then consider his options, like it's been mentioned on here, he's still very young and still has time to develop!

If the Swans start selling off players mid season, would it have an effect on them staying up? At the end of the season, then no problem. Swansea need to know what position they are in before they allow players to leave.

Yeah, I thought so too. Against possibly the best midfield in the EPL as well. Williams and Taylor were also very good I thought. Sadly, Jazz Richards wasn't, but he's young enought to get a lot, lot better.
