I wonder how many caps Chris will go on to gain for Wales. I think it will be at least 108. Can’t see less than that.

He's not playing regularly for Reading at the moment, which is worrying for him.

On current form he might not get to a 100.
Think he will limp over the line with a few sub appearances like Dublin.
Can't say he doesn't deserve to and hope he does.

That is true though - he will miss the Albania match so he wins his 93rd cap on home soil in new year LOL!!! I think he’ll miss Denmark home (injuries permitting) and will actually play in Albania to equal the record. So his chance to beat the record will be the Euro qualifiers in the New Year.

I think he will be one of Giggs' go to subs when we need to hold on to a lead, and I'm sure he will hit 100 caps doing so.
I think I remember reading before that the FAW were looking at the fact that we have never had anyone reach 100 caps, and were keen to get players hitting 100 caps more regularly as feathers in the cap of our setup. I think Gunter is seen as the first step towards that, and to be honest I think everyone involved with Wales wants to see him achieve it.

He’s 29. We have to factor in suspensions, injuries and Wales have a massive age gap from the old to young. We’ll need his experience. 108 easy!!!

I think he’ll just get over 100 and then call it a day. He’ll probably be around 32 when he gets that with Roberts now first choice anyway. It’ll be great to get to 100 but as a professional would you really want 5 mins at the end of the game just for the sake of another cap? The records a milestone, 100 is a milestone, there isn’t much for him to achieve after that if he isn’t first team or making a huge contribution.
I hope he doesn’t break the record by coming on for 10 mins at the end of the Albania friendly either. Deserves the full game for the occasion, a penalty too if there’s one going.

There’s more chance he’ll come on for 10 mins against Denmark then play the full game against Albania, which I hope is what happens.

TBH we never got 100 caps before because we didn't play enough games and didn't get to tournaments. England are on 989 games and we haven't even got to 700 yet (681 is it?). Gunter only deserves 100 caps if he gets them. I think himself he would rather get to 100 playing 90mins majority of the 9 he has yet to gain than say 5 85th min sub appearances... that's just pointless.

How many matches has Gunter not played since his debut? I feel he’s pretty much maxed it out over 11 years and still hasn’t got 100.

I think the odds on this will lengthen with every passing game.

Despite rife speculation, sources in the FAW are still confident that Gunts will still be around, at least until SEPTEMBER 2019 ;-))

Disagree, thought he had a good game against Denmark playing at LB, and was one of the better players tonight.
Still 2nd best RB we have.

He will get a 100 caps but might have to wait longer than he planned. Well done Ryan Giggs for picking what he believes is the best team. Thank you Chris Coleman for realizing that you could not do this and quitting when you did.

Maybe he means Coleman wouldn't be able to trust youngsters, and would probably still be sticking to the old guard of Gunter, HRK, Asley Williams, Crofts (!) etc It's hard to compare though because you never know if the squad would have developed under Coleman or someone else in the same way. However I dont think he'd have done the same as Giggs has.

Coleman would have stuck with the failures of the WCQ’S. But I do like Gunter and he’s definitely not finished in the Welsh set up. Probably no need to bring Cookie’s name up. It’s all in the past. Sorry about that

Gunter still has a huge part to play over the next couple of campaigns. I hope he gets a move in the summer, is playing regularly, and putting pressure on Roberts!

At the moment he is our second choice right back who can cover across the backline. He would be I our squad of 23 for a tournament. He needs to play regular football in case Roberts gets injured or loses form.
In fairness Robert's offered no more than ago terms on Sunday.

There is absolutely no way he should start a game for Wales ahead of the superior Roberts or the Premier League quality Dummett. Anyone who thinks he should is either blind or stupid.
