Norwich might be good - get him linking up with Crofts and Morison.
Fulham would be a good move only if he played week-in week-out.

Its quite ironic that after playing for Wales under Speed the likes of Vaughan, Crofts and now Gunter are gaining elevated status, under Tosh, the man who managed Real Madrid twice he could not even get Steve Evans a league club.
Gunter will face a battle for his shirt once Ricketts is available but I would say the same about Blake facing a battle once Collins (James) and Gabbidon were fit if they were injured and looking at an imminent return but as the facts have shown if your in possesion of the shirt you keep it. Whoever takes over from Gary Speed would be foolish to dismantle anything about what was put in place from principles of selection to sports science to psycology to even where the players stay. Gunter getting another shot at the Premier League would be an excellent move, I would prefer Norwich who are looking good to stay up and have a very good and stable management structure.

When Lambert leaves Norwich at the end of the season, they will be relegated the following year.
Jol is apparently looking for a right back to play (as opposed to a squad member) in his Project, so if he's going for Gunter, his Idea will be to start with him.

Gunter never played badly at Spurs but had limited chances. I remember him keeping Giggs quiet in one match. Id like to see him at Fulham.

I seem to remember Gunter keeping Ronaldo quiet in this game: news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/fa_cup/7842634.stmHe's easily good enough to play in the premier league (in over 30 caps for Wales I can only remember him being disappointing a couple of times) I hope he goes to Fulham or Norwich (always seems to work out well for Welsh players there) next month.

Gunter is the squad's shop steward. He's integral to the 'can do' culture that is developing in the squad. On purely footballing grounds he might have competition for his place from Ricketts, but Ricketts has to first get his Bolton place back, and then get a run of games.
Either Fulham or Norwich would be good for him

Agree with all that llannerch. As I've said before, he's like a less annoying Welsh version of Gary Neville! Neville was good mates with, and happy to play a support role, to United's big star players- Beckham, Giggs etc. Just like Gunter is good mates with the likes of Ramsey and Bale.

and i heard everton are looking which again is ideal. but fulham 1st choice gotta be gunter on the right riise on the left pretty good

Arsenal are really struggling at full back at the moment. I really think for 2.5 million (Forest's asking price) they could do a lot, lot worse than Gunter.

I'd be happy with any of those. I reckon West Ham would be good in the respect that I don't think they'll go down, and could well become an established epl side under Allardyce.

Williams to Dyer to Sinclair brings Allen into the action to Graham who picks out Gunter overlapping who finds Vorm with a sixty yard pass.

Gunter would be a decent option on the bench to cover across the back. Swans fans need to remember they are still shopping in the bargain basement.

Some terrible and very ignorant comments on there among some sensible ones. Think some Swansea fans need to remember where they were 10 years ago.

To be honest I'm surprised with how many reasonable comments there are on that thread. I think his Cardiff past is a lesser issue than his performances for Forest against Swansea. He was also very poor for Wales in Speed's early games - but improved a lot in the later games.
I'm ambivalent at the prospect of him coming to Swansea - but if Rodgers thinks he can add something then I'm all for it. Any player who goes to Swansea is going to be significantly improved in my opinion - that's how highly I rate Rodgers and the Swansea setup. So Gunter at Swansea should benefit Wales - assuming he gets game time, which is by no means certain.

So Swans fans don't want him cos he had a couple of dodgy games vs them? Ridiculous. Would they also not want any of the Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Man City players who had dodgy games vs them this season? People who don't think Gunter can hack it at the top level should go back and check his performance vs Ronaldo in this game: news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/fa_cup/7842634.stmAs well as his Wales performances vs Switzerland last year, in Germany 2007, in Russia 2008 etc

You conveniently ignore the fact that he was rubbish for Wales in the early part of the Euro qualifiers. Not the only one by any means - but his consistency has been lacking. But he's still only 22, and who knows he may have improved this season at Forest. I'm not in the habit of ruling anybody out - but like anybody else I ultimately make judgements on what I see. It sounds as if he may well be heading to the Premier League with some team or other, so it will be interesting to see how he fares.

I'd like to see gunter at the swans think rodgers would improve him no end,he is still only 22 he seems to of been around forever!some of my fellow jacks need to forget he was involved with cdiff,if rodgers wants to sign him then he rates him and thats good enough for me!Yes some of his wales performance's have'nt been great BUT when has gunter cried of sick for wales he allways turns up unlike some others in the squad!

Wonder if he will become the first former Cardiff City season ticket holder to sign for Swansea?

In my humble opinion Gunter is a better prospect in the longer term at Centre Back and if he were to join Swansea it would be initially as cover for Rangel and Taylor but also i suspect Rodgers will convert him into a central role and he will become the equivalent of alan tate who can cover the whole backline. CB's no longer need to be giants but do need to be quick on their feet agile reasonably strong in the air and at swansea will need to be comfortable on the ball (he isn't but could become so)
Gunter is a head down player and is not technically proficient enough to be qulaity in the prem but with persistence might get there as a CB. I reckon he would be a good purchase for the reasons outlined above

Flynns take on Chris Gunter:
Flynn's verdict: Chris is a very clever defender. He has great pace and has the ability and nous to be able to play can right across the back-line; right, left and centre. With Chris' ability, his versatility will ensure he'll be a star for Wales for many years. Only time will tell which position he'll hold down.
...Maybe he saw him becoming a centre back eventually too?
