Didn't realise that he was set to win his 50th cap! Absolutely amazing!

He’s been immense for LUFC this season in midfield and at CB. Far too good for the Championship.

Ben Davies will be captain after Rambo, and Ben will stick around for another 4 years or so. After that it will be Ampadu, so I think he'll be captain by the time he's around 27/28

Makes sense for Ampadu to be captain. Davies is looking towards the twilight of his career now. Amapadu (injury permitting) is perhaps 4-5 years away from his peak and is already a key cog in the Welsh team that we really cannot do without!

The pass for Moore's spurned chance was unbelievable, outside of the right boot! He's such a sexy footballer, the way he plays the game, I love it. As Athenempadu said, Ethan calls the shots on the pitch, it doesn't matter what team he's in and who's captain, he is the leader. I don't want to jinx it but he's getting better at controlling his aggression and channelling it better the more he plays, I think he could 8-10 years at the top of his game, in that time I think he could develop into one of the best defensive minded players in Europe, I really do, he's got so much about him.

These type of defensive minded players are in short supply and everybody is on the lookout for a good one, especially if they can handle the creative playmaker role as well.

I'd give it to Ampadu too, will give us a captain for the foreseeable and time for him to grow into the role by the time he hits his peak, also feels like a bit more of a statement than just giving it to the next most senior player

What is so amazing about Ampadu and Jordan James is how disciplined and focussed they are. That may be taken for granted but looked at the careless mistakes Morrell (several times) and Smith (against Ireland away) made and consider the experienced Ramsey being given defensive midfield responsibilities in important games and going AWOL
Its strange Ampadu with all his technical abilities does not seem great in front of goal but his lack of goals also reflects his incredible discipline for such a talented player. How often does he get caught out so far forward?
You could argue it is even more incredible in the case of Jordan James. Jordan clearly has an eye for goal and is decent from an offensive perspective so much so that his club have pushed him further upfield but look how disciplined he is for Wales!
We are so, so lucky to have them both. Touch wood they continue to demonstrate these qualities again on Tuesday!

Disagree on the captaincy stuff. Ben Davies gets talked down enough for not really being the "it" guy in any team
BUT...Davies is 30 so probably has another 4-5 years in him, given his injury record that could be longer. He will break Bale's cap record in that time for sure, he'll likely hold the record for most tournaments for Wales, and if he plays 17 more times for Spurs he'll be in their top 10 for all time Premier League appearances too
Ben might not be the "it" guy, but he's the perfect captain post Ramsey. Ampadu's time will come

I'm not the sentimental type, but did anybody see this just before the game started? After the group huddle as the players broke away, Ampadu called out to Brooks and went over to embrace him. They made their debuts together, and both could have been getting their 50th cap. I thought that was a nice touch, and showed what a thoughtful person he is.

Ampadu has outstanding leadership qualities. He's shown it since he made his debut as a 17yo, but taken it up a notch this past season. I watch a lot of Leeds (for obvious reasons), and just the little things you notice - like he'll go over to the bench to greet every sub that comes on, as well as his signature pointing and general body language in trying to direct play. However, while I do like the idea of him becoming such a young captain and really growing into the role, I just don't think we can look past Ben Davies who is perfect captain material himself.

I watch their games if I get the chance, but mostly because they are very entertaining. I like the way they play with 4 up front and the fullbacks getting forward too, hence I am a big fan of a back 4. However, you need a good coach to make it work, and also the right type of players.

Colossus tonight, gave everything. Leeds can be proud of their players last night. Ampadu and Rodon stood out to me as our best players on the night, Roberts gave it his all before injury and Dan James was forced to play out of position before bravely stepping up to take a vital penalty.

Anyone else think he and JJ were knackered in the last 15 though? (I appreciate that them being shot after 110 minutes is not something that comes up often)

Big thing for me is we need more talent emerging from centre mid. JJ and Ampadu are at that level we need.
Hopefully more youngsters emerging because either of those two get injured and we'll definitely feel it

Hoping Savage continues his development too If we are calling upon Ampadu, JJ, Morrell, Allen, Sheehan & Savage in the next 4 years I think that's fine. My big issue is Page calls up players that he doesn't trust. Situationally we needed to sub off a tired JJ last night, but Page didn't want to put Sheehan on. If he's the next best CM and we need a change then he should make the change, otherwise why even call up Sheehan. Same goes for Dasilva

Would prefer to see him out on loan in L1 or somewhere If he is called into the Leeds squad it's because Farke want's him there, similar to Archie Gray. The Leeds squad has a lot of young players, so I don't think age is a problem, and the quality of the coaching would take him to the next level
