Sat 07:35 Manchester MAN 10:25 Hanover HAJ BE7301 Flybe €60
Sat 20:45 Hanover HAJ 22:55 Belgrade BEG W64018 Wizz Air €37
This looks attractive but I fancied a couple of days in Belgrade. I think I paid just over £200 with Turkish for Friday to Monday from Manchester via Istanbul.
Happy enough with my deal.

I only have a two hour stop. In reality it'll be one gate to another unless we're early.
Anybody clued up with plug sockets over there? I believe I can use the adaptor that worked in Spain and Sweden. Travel insurance aside, I think I'm pretty much sorted already. A lifetime working in an administrative environment has made me super organised in that respect.
Bit nervous given the current climate but thoroughly looking forwards to my first away trip with Wales. I intend to start doing as many as I can.

Swimming trunks etiquette
For those not familiar with the Eastern European ways, you will NEVER be allowed to wear SHORTS in a swimming pool or a sauna out in Serbia/Croatia. All establishments will insist that you buy their flimsy Speedo-like BRIEFS only.
You are best advised to pack your own Speedo briefs, to avoid embarrassment.

I would say that all the pools/sauna that I have been to in Belgium over four years were the same, as well as a few I visited in France as well. Its mostly a hygiene thing.

That's 100% not the case. I've been to swimming places in Belgrade and Eastern Serbia (and Slovenia, Macedonia, Bulgaria) and never had any issue with wearing shorts. In fact, almost everyone under 40 was wearing them. Please don't dish out outdated stereotypes.

Happy to be corrected by a local, as I have never been to Serbia. My experience in Bratislava last year was different.
Thanks!

I haven't been to any of the open air lidos in Belgrade but may go next week before you all arrive. Ada Lake is lovely, if you are thinking of a swim. Bars all the way around and the water from the Sava river is nice enough - only about 10 mins from the train station by bus.

I had suspected manulike was joking.
The coming of age I had around 15 / 16 during a week on the south Pembrokeshire coast. I stayed on the family farm and hung out with the local lads and lasses. The girls were a bit liberal on the private spot on the beach. The stories I had for my mates at school...

Taxi sharing with other fans from the airport is a good way of keeping the cost down and more money for beer and the tremendous food that we ate last time in Belgrade. There was this pasta place just up from republic square where they cooked pasts dishes to order in front of you,it was unbelievable.
Last time there the match was on a Tuesday and the night life was low key however this time being a week end it should be bouncing.
Check out Ada lake for day time beach bars and swimming

I'll have a Wales top of some description on. Hope to see many of us descend upon Belgrade and, if reports are true, outnumber them in the home end.
Staying on Drobracina Street which seems a short walk from the city centre. I was planning on a taxi from the airport so that sounds good to me.

An hour after sleepy had posted it, they were up to £240 return. Maybe someone at Turkish was having a little laugh at our expense.

Anyone on here arriving Belgrade Friday night 19.25? (Turkish airlines via Istanbul) 5 of my friends are on that flight from Heathrow via Istanbul. I should land from Doha at 11.30am which calls for a lot of self-restraint not to enjoy the local refreshments too much in the afternoon. Otherwise I'll be ready for bed by the time they land!

There was this pasta place just up from republic square where they cooked pasts dishes to order in front of you,it was unbelievable. You mean Vapiano. A great place to have pasta sauce cooked the way you want in front of you. Walk back to your table with a very fresh pasta dish. For pizza lovers get exactly what you want on top of your pizza. They cook it and bring it to your table.
