Anyone in Warsaw Sunday night? That was my plan, initially. Then Wizz Air shifted the flight to late evening and LOT cancelled altogether ... So I am now stopping over in Milan. I heard Warsaw has a spectacular Light and Fire multimedia show at the waterfront in the evenings - enjoy!

I'm sure some will have seen this already but some infromation on getting from the airport into the centre
Public transport – Bus (Chisinau) There are two bus connections between Chisinau Airport and the city, you can choose for express bus A (07.00 – 19.00) or minibus number 165 (06.00 – 22.00). The minibuses run most frequently, approximately every 10 minutes. Express bus A departs only once every 40 minutes. In terms of travel time and costs, it makes no difference, the price is 3 MDL per ticket. Express bus A runs to and from Dimitrie Cantemir Square northwest of downtown Chisinau, minibus number 165 runs to and from Ismail Street southeast of downtown Chisinau. Cathedral Park is known as the centre of Chisinau, the “Central Park” of Chisinau is located exactly between the last stops of the two bus lines from the airport. The bus ride to the centre takes 30 to 40 minutes. Tickets can be purchased from the bus driver. If you have much luggage, it may be that you need to buy an additional ticket for your suitcase or travel bag.
Route from the airport - Dacia Ave. → Decebal Ave. → Iu. Gagarin Ave. → C. Negruzzi Ave. → Ştefan cel Mare şi Sfînt Ave. → Dimitrie Cantemir Sq.
How much is the taxi fare to and from Chisinau? - A taxi to the centre of Chisinau costs approximately 100 MDL (5 euros). Always enquire about the price before travelling.

Anyone booked any decent flights recently? Based in Wrexham so anything North West is ideal. Have looked at the Wizzair from Luton but the flight times are awful. Best i can find so far is mcr to paris then paris to chis roughly £470 in total.

Just had a quick look, hard to find cheap flights and it looks like a bit of a ball ache to be honest, you can get a flight from Liverpool to Lublin on the 3rd but you'd have to bus/train it then. if you're not going to the Austria game I could only suggest that you go on the Saturday and make a bit of and adventure of it!

Going to cardiff too! Should be a great few days for those doing both. Booked last minute for Serbia when the price had gone down near £200! So will wait it out a few days. Cheers

When you come out of the arrivals hall walk to your right and the local minibus goes from there. About 10p the one we were on was stuffed and it still stopped along the route for note passengers but we got there OK. Drops off at cosmos hotel by the sky bar Jacks bar beside cosmos is a good spot open very late but drink too cheap be warned drinking pints of Bacardi

We used the advice in the FSF booklet and booked ourselves onto the Kvint distillery tour. They were very responsive with emails and will be taking us from Chisinau to their distillery in Tiraspol. We will get a chance to have a little look around Tiraspol too.
For anyone looking to cross the border, I'd recommend looking into this option.

Hi all,I'm new to this forum but have been using it for years to pick up info and tips so thanks all especially manulike.. I hate being ripped off by airlines so anyone flying wizz air like us and not aware of their rules. You can carry on hand luggage up to 56*45*25cm which is quite standard but if your carry on bag is bigger than 42*32*25cm (which is seriously small) there is fee.. If you pre book carry on baggage over 42cm it is £15 e/w if you do it at the airport its £36 e/w.

I'm definitely interested in going across the border but not too bothered about the brandy tour to be honest

The brandy tour cost around half of that but we went for a more expensive option. We have a 17 seater between 8 of us so it should be a good time. If you want to do it cheaper, the buses are a lot less than what we're paying.

Robbing twats Personally, I opted for their discount membership option, and paid £10 e/o for the piece of mind. For those not paying in advance (and there is always a decent chance that there will not be a problem) - please note that this rule is about to change on Wizz Air from 29 October 2017 - to fall into line with Ryanair / Easyjet etc. As such, you could always plead ignorance and say you thought the rule is already been enacted ... worth a try! ... If all else fails, don't pay the £36 - instead, go online or on their app and pay £25 for it...

Does anyone here using an Android phone, know of an app that can translate Romanian SPEECH OFFLINE? I had a look at the regular Google and Microsoft Translate Apps - but their Speech part only works with data connection - the only "off line" bit is the dictionary, if you first download it. I have been using YANDEX for off line RUSSIAN - the speech is a little metallic, but it wont cost you £2/min in data charges ... play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.yandex.translate&hl=en_GB

I am a little surprised (or perhaps confused) but it looks like the Moldovans managed to ship around 3000 tickets in the last week? Anyway, it looks like there are only around 65 tickets left on line... If anyone needs a single ticket for block 38 (balcony behind the goal), front row, three seats in from our bunch - send me a PM with your EMAIL ADDRESS - I can email it to you - £5 mticket.md/en/moldova-tara-galilor-183.html

a quick update from Chisinau. at airport, head to AgriBank (£=22.50) and avoid the other exchange shops (£=19.50). the AgriBank rate is almost as good a that downtown £=22.70 is best I've seen bus number 30 to the station and the centre is right outside the terminal, slightly to your left. 3 lei. minibus (Marshrutka) 165 to station and Cosmos hotel is about 50 yrds to your right, as you exit the terminal - walking past all the parked taxis. 3 lei . I have been told locals pay 50 lei for taxi into town. and tourist expect to pay 80... the 165 took 25 minutes to Cosmos cosmos hotel is like the Ritz if compared to the Slavija in Belgrade. a lovely view from my balcony on the 12th floor. no sign of any rain (arrived 6pm) - it's a wonderfully sticky 24c bring it on
