We had about 500 fans in the stadium as you say many tickets were harvested. Some of the FAI seats (maybe 100) were in a VIP area on the halfway line. These seats were 20 euro each.
The game was nowhere near a sellout. I'd be amazed if anyone was locked out when you go there.

Was less tickets "harvested" for Moldova than for the game in Serbia I'd say we had 700 or 800 in Chisinau. Dont see yous having a ticket issue for game over there as locals are boycotting the home games due to cost of tickets (they dirt cheap for us but expensive to locals who's weekly wage is low)

Thanks, lads. Its very re-assuring, especially the official 1316 tickets allocation. I can imagine FAW getting even more than that, if requested, as the Ireland match attendance was only 6000 (Sunday 5pm ko).
The Moldova FA were even selling tickets online at face value, with no fees and issuing instant e-Voucher tickets that may be printed out - they were 100 lei (4 euro).
So everyone should indeed be able to easily get a ticket!

Take the harvesting claims with a pinch of salt, given the poor criteria applied from with FAI on tickets it adds bugger all to anybody. Only game potentially in the group where attendance criteria MAY be an issue is the Cardiff game and if one or both of us are not in contention for 1st or 2nd place it is likely to be irrelevant.

I've got you an option for this:
Saturday 3rd: 10:00 departure from Birmingham to Bucharest, arriving 15:20, with Blue Air.
That's £43 at the minute. Then it's about £25 for a one way ticket in a four berth sleeper on the night train. You'll arrive Sunday morning. Perfect.
It does mean an early start especially with the game the night before in Cardiff but it might work for some of you if you live near Birmingham.
The night train doesn't leave til 19:15 so there's plenty of time. It's only a 20 minute taxi ride from the airport to Nord train station.

The Iasi flights on Wednesday are very early and the direct Chisinau ones are quite expensive. If you don't mind getting a bus from Chisinau to Iasi, that could work for you. There's also an early morning flight from Chisinau to Bologna, with Wizzair, arriving 10:55 and it's about 65 pounds, then an evening flight to Stansted that's about 35 pounds, on Wednesday 6th, with Ryanair, but Stansted is obviously an awful option for you, especially if you fly out from Birmingham. There's also an option from Chisinau to Bergamo to Stansted, again Wizzair then Ryanair. Nothing much to Cardiff, Bristol or even Birmingham, unfortunately. There aren't even decent options from Bacau or Bucharest that I can find. The LOT Polish Airlines option from Chisinau via Warsaw to Heathrow might be the best option of the lot. Obviously Heathrow is handier with the direct national express bus back to Cardiff and Swansea.

Direct to Chisinau ... Fly One Great price. As they are an hour ahead, you should be able to make it into town comfortably in time to watch our home game v Austria that evening. If you did want to attend the Austria game, and already booked the ticket - Fly One have a track record of cancelling flights 2 or 3 weeks before departure - just ask the Irish... THE RETURN LEG comes up at 90 euro, which is a very decent price if you combine it with an outward leg to Bucharest on Sunday or Monday NOTE that the direct flights of Moldovan (Stansted) and Wizzair (Luton) are now around about £400 return!!

that's the catch 22 i have , i'll try my best and find another suitable flight Try Blue Air out of Birmingham or Liverpool on Sunday 10am to Bucharest ( €55), as per superdave . Arrives Bucharest at 3.20pm and gives you a fair few hours in Bucharest prior to catching the 7pm train. If you ADD €20 to that, you can connect from Bucharest Airport onto Iasi airport with BlueAir: dept OTP 5.30pm arrive Iasi 6.30pm. Iasi is a mere 100 mile from Chisinau - so should only be a couple of hours by taxi / minibus? Supposed to be a great place, so perhaps spend the Monday there? Only about 55 euro one-way and combine with the €90 return leg Chisinau to B'ham

Decent option OUT OF CARDIFF:
Dept Sunday 3 Sep with FLYBE to Berlin 0920-1220 for €45 Connect onto Blue Air at 1850 arrive IASI at 2150 for €40
Stay the night and enjoy your Monday there - its just 100 miles to Chisinau.
Buses depart IASI at least every hour and TAKE FIVE HOURS (cost about €8) - so you might want to SHARE A TAXI with some others +/- 2 hours for +/- 50 euro?
Return Thursday with Fly One direct from Chisinau to Birmingham for €90? (Note: if they need to cancel the flight, there is another Air Moldova on same day)

When we arrived in Chisinau airport, there was not a taxi to be had. After waiting about 20 mins we took a local bus, with was about 15 cents, About 20 of us, plus another 20 on a 33 seater, then the bus started picking up more people along the route to the city centre. Sardines have more space. But at least we were in the city.

That is a FANTASTIC find and a great price on Air Moldova (currently only £89 one-way).
