Yes. If you look at the YBIG travel page, there is about ten pages about them! Sadly, they decided to totally cancel a heavily booked flight, a few weeks ahead of the game - leaving dozens to have to find much dearer alternatives at very short notice. Hopefully, it wont happen again!

Hopefully, it wont happen again! They never cancelled any flights from dublin before our game over there. Was a fear they had cancelled a flight and a few days of confusion but know that flight did 100% go Think might of cancelled a flight from Stansted though. Flew with blue air myself and anyone flying with them don't be expecting much 😂

Hopefully, it wont happen again! We flew with them from Dublin, excellent service. There was a panic because the flight was not showing up on the website once it was full. The inbound flight was showing, just a strange way of operating. Timing was perfect, few pints after out home game against Georgia, straight to the airport, then a 1230 departure for Chisinau. Only downside wasno alcohol on the flight.

For those of you using Blue Air from Liverpool / Birmingham / Luton to Bucharest - about £100 out Sunday back Wednesday. Arrival at 3.20pm connects nicely to the evening train from Bucharest to Chisinau (7.20pm, Gar du Nord, about 30 euro for a sleeper) arriving Chisinau at 9am. You can PHYSICALLY ADD ON Bucharest to IASI flight even if starting from Liverpool or Birmingham, as there is a 5.30pm flight from Bucharest to Iasi arriving to Iasi at 6.30pm, for 90 lei ( 20 euro). For those flying to IASI - it is only about 4 hours away by marshrutka to Chisinau - 25 lei / £5, almost hourly. From Autogara Codreanu near Billa Supermarket. This is one (of many) bus companies www.123iasi.ro/autogara-iasi/#chisinau IF YOU PREFER NOT TO TAKE THE 14 HOUR (€30) TRAIN ...The Blue Air 10am flight from Birmingham / Liverpool arrives in to Bucharest at 3.20pm - now up to £50 (Luton is still only £30) It connects nicely with the Tarom 5pm departure to Chisinau arriving at 6.15pm - €50

All,
I've just had notification that our flight from Warsaw to Chisinau with LOT on the Monday has been cancelled and we've been shifted onto a Tuesday morning flight.
Spoke to the booking agents and they've sorted it, we've been put on the earlier flight on the Monday instead. They were as confused as me as to why LOT had pushed our flight back by a day, for the sake of a couple of hours!

It made me double check my Wizz Air flight from Bristol to Warsaw and ... ITS BEEN CANCELLED AS WELL.No email from wizz or nothing ... it just says that my lovely 3pm departure on Sunday has been shifted to late evening on Monday! So I am back to square one again ... going through the Blue Air and Flyone options. I hate it when a great plan collapses like that ;=( NEW FLIGHT OPTIONS FROM CARDIFFMonday 4th Dept Cardiff 10am to Milan Malpensa, arrive 1pm - £59 on Flybe Monday 4th Dept Milan Malpensa at 15:20 arrive Chisinau 18:20 - Air Moldova €68 (its a 2-hourt flight, as Moldova is +1) (It is possible to do the same flights on Sunday starting 6.20AM ... But I need my beauty sleep) Note Air Moldova actually serves hot food as standard ;-) FOR THE ROMANTICS - 24 HOURS IN VENICEDept BIRMINGHAM on Sunday at 6pm (or Manchester at 5pm) arrive Venice 9pm on Monarch for £46 Dept Venice Monday at 10pm arrive Chisinau Tuesday at 1am (match-day) on Moldovan for £50

manulike - Any recommendations for Manchester to Chisinau? Three nights max. Prefer convenience over price. Some options for the North West might be: Monday 1115 - 1430 Liverpool to Milan Bergamo on Blue Air for £42 Monday 1720 - 2030 Bergamo to Chisinau on Wizz Air for £52 (member) ALSO Monday 0925 Liverpool - Bucharest 1500 - Dept Bucharest 1700 arrive Chisinau 1815 Blue Air + Tarom for £50 + £53 Back via Rome on Wednesday Dept Chisinau at 3pm arrive Liverpool 11pm - similar price. MANCHESTER / CONVENIENCE = Total return price £244 Monday 08:25 - 12:15 on Vueling stopover 3h15 at Rome - Fiumicino (FCO) Dept 15:30 Arrive Chisinau 19:00 on Air Moldova Back Wednesday Dept 1pm via Paris CDG (3 hour stopover) then Fly one + Air France arrive Manchester 1845 If using two carriers to get to Chisinau is a problem (baggage or insecure transit) then both Austrian and Lufthansa do MAN-KIV for about £240 return, with out leg taking about 11 hours and arriving at 1am but the return leg quite convenient early afternoon and taking only 6 hours.

And remember that Lufthansa and Austrian are "full service". Free beer is worth paying a little extra.

Having been to the Zimbru Stadium to see Bangor a couple of years ago, they have an odd situation with two ultras groups that have to be kept apart in the stadium - a Moldovan one and a Russian one.
The Moldovan's were very welcoming but the Russian's stormed a pub full of Bangor after the game and stole the flags, etc. Just be wary as per usual....

We had no issues when over for the Ireland game last October the locals were very welcoming even helping Irish fans get back to our hotels after the game by calling taxis etc for us (stadium is a distance away from the area majority of us stayed in) Only bad report heard from fellow Irish fans was a few of them were harassed for money when trying to leave 1 of the Andy pizza restaurants in the city

Yeah a Tuesday game in Moldova will stretch finances and holidays. I can't see many doing this and Georgia especially if there is nothing on the outcome of the Georgia game.

What the cheapest Direct flights from London you've found manulike I could only find with air Moldova and a return was approx £300 I think its the least visited European country for a number of reasons! The DIRECT flights are limited to Moldovan (from Stansted - great times but £380 return) and Wizz Air (out of Luton) rubbish times and about £110 going out (midnight Sunday arrive 5am Monday) Wizz Air return leg on Wednesday is super expensive (£210!!) soi you may as well opt for Wizz out and Moldovan back (only £180 and Dept 12:30 KIV arrive 13:50 STN). For return leg, another option out of Chisinau is FLY-ONE, a subsidiary of Moldovan and they fly Chisinau to CDG Paris for £80 on Wednesday Dept 1pm KIV arrive 3.20pm CDG and you can easily commute on to London? Going out from CDG to Chisinau on the Monday is £100 - Dept CDG 14:20 and Arrive Chisinau 18:20 CONNECTION TO IASIMo 10:35 London LTN 15:45 Bucharest OTP 0B132 Blue Air £26 Mo 17:30 Bucharest OTP 18:30 Iasi IAS 0B6201 Blue Air €20 We 12:30 Iasi IAS 13:30 Bucharest OTP 0B6202 Blue Air €20 We 19:45 Bucharest OTP 21:15 London LGW W63031 Wizz Air €100

I shall duplicate this post, so that it will be easier to find ... I had another long look at the Moldovan FA web site, and as the Georgians have only sold 14 tickets (fourteen) for this one at the away end, it is so much easier to calculate the seats in it! The ROI were given 1316 tickets at €8 and 200 VIP tickets at €25 (the FAI making a tidy profit there, obviously). The Moldovan FA has a super modern web site, with interactive seat allocation. They will also email you a ticket with barcode instantly - all for £4. Tickets were 50 lei until this campaign (£2) and the doubling of the price brought the boycott backlash ... The 1300 is just the two main lower blocks behind the goal 18 (626 seats) and 19 (624 seats): Blocks 17 and 20 (lower corners) have 300 seats each. Most seats in the four (smaller) upper tiers were still available on ROI match-day (I checked!). I estimate that there are another 600ish seats there (190+190+94+146). THUS: AWAY END has 1850 seats at the lower level and another 620 seat right above it With all due respect to corky and vandenhauwe and their need to be cautious, I hazard to guess that we will indeed get 1850 tickets if we ask for them. With super cheap flight to Bucharest and Iasi, I am sure there will be at least that amount interested. See the Moldovan site here - www.tickets.fmf.md/event/index/9

Just heard that flights from Birmingham to Chisinau have been cancelled, don't know anymore at the moment, but apparently it is on "Wales away" If that is the brand new Flyone direct flight it is only scheduled to start on 5 June? Can't see anything on their twitter or on news feeds. They did state at the time of the launch that they will fly Saturday/Tuesday and Thursday - but on their website it does seem that its only on SATURDAYS. Thus, only really good if you dont mind missing the Austria match. its £100 each way! The Romanian Blue Air still has €30 flights Birmingham to Bucharest and you can connect comfortably on to Iasi for another €20 or even connect to Chisinau with Tarom (€60 to €70 - see above)

Kiev? When are the arrival and dept times? Remember that the local currency, the grivny (Gv) is only available inside Ukraine (closed currency) but exchange shops are available in the airport even late at night. Practically no difference at all to the down-town rate! Its spelt 'Hryvnia' - but there is no 'g' sound in Russian, hence: 'gospital' and 'gamburger' etc. If you are taking the airport bus/metro, just change £10 / €10 that will give you plenty of drinking/snack money and you can order a restaurant meal with a credit card. You might struggle to spend £20/€20 n a day, but there are duty free shops at the airport that will take local currency. Flying out of Kiev. I flew out twice, once around 1pm and once around 6pm and at both times security was a total breeze. From the entrance doors to the flight gate in around 15-20 minutes (with only hand luggage). Even for those of you looking at the 1am arrival and 8am or noon connections in Kiev, there is a great motel about 2 miles away from the Boryspil airport called KORONA HOTEL which only charges €7 bed and breakfast in a single room. Bellini pancakes and omelette for breakfast were amazing and their super cheap restaurant bar is open 24/7. A taxi there will charge you around 250 grivny (€8), although if you call/email the hotel they will send their driver out to collect you for only 90 grivny (€3) = any time of day/night! Book it through www.hotels.com IF ARRIVING TO KIEV INTL BORYSPIL DURING DAYTIMEThe Sky Bus 322 (the locals call it 'palet') will take you to the train station in 50 to 75 minutes, depending on traffic, for 60 Gv (€2). During rush-hour, you will do much better if you get off at "Kharkivska" metro station (€1 to here) after about 20 minutes and catch a METRO into town - its only 5 Gv (20c) anywhere! Dont expect to get a paper metro map leaflet ... but all metro stations are also numbered, so if you do your homework, it will be easy to count them... Its about 30 to 35 minutes into Independence Square. Although the train station is not very central, you can catch the bus back from there and its mostly down-hill from the centre of town to the station (about 30 mins walk). Note that the bus departs from the SOUTH entrance of the station - so walk through to the far side, and its slightly to your right.

Forgot to mention when I booked yesterday, but Chisinau-Gatwick on 7th September is £95 with an 11 hour stop in Kiev. Flights are with Ukrainian Airlines. IF there during daylight hours take a minbus to centre of Kiev and have a walk around, we did and was good fun......... run from the Polar bears at Maidan sq as they a con. Walked from Maidan to Golden Temple then to 2 Cathedrals and then to viewpoint overlooking the river. Had no currency but coffee kiosk took euros, they checked rate online and that was it, this happened couple of times. Underground goes from train station to Maidan sq, escalator is longest and deepest one I have ever been on.................. can have a decent wall around but if late afternoon flight they give yourself lots of time to get back to airport. Bus driver back drove on pavement, douche was comment from the 4 Ukrainians in back of bus while he chatted on mobile and drinking a coffee plus travelling at 120km.
