Relegated to the bench in a high profile match and what does he do ............ He delivers Lovely goal. Ipswich level. It was Conor Chaplin who spread it to Leif Davis on the left. He was held up but rolled it back to Jack Taylor, and he then pushed a pass into the box. Nathan Broadhead races onto it and curls a low drive first time past goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu. Super finish Don't think he was dropped, he never starts two games in a week - think it's fitness-related as he has been quite injury-prone throughout his career

All three of the Welsh Ipswich boys start in a huge game tonight - lose, and Leeds will only need to win their final game to nick the last automatic promotion spot. If Ipswich get a point, they'll only need to beat Huddersfield at the weekend to go up.
Feeling slightly torn, although I think it's probably best for us if Ampadu goes up with Leeds so I'm hoping for a Coventry win tonight

Hope Ipswich go up on Saturday, providing they get 3pts tonight. Norwich my tip for third spot via PO.

While I’ve wanted Leeds to go up, and kept an eye on their results in recent weeks… is there an argument to be made that it might be better for the Welsh players there if they stayed in the Championship for another season? Being nailed on starters for a good team in a good division might be more beneficial to them than playing in a potentially struggling team in a better division - perhaps struggling for a starting place if they bring in reinforcements over the summer.
I still want them to do it… but I think I’d rather have an on form Championship Dan James that’s enjoying his game in the Wales squad over a Premiership Dan James in a struggling defensive team, who’s perhaps not getting enough minutes.

Leeds had an odd start to the season with players trying to force moves away etc. and appear to have struggled since last international break, but only Rutter, Summerville, Ampadu and Rodon are definitely Premier League quality with Dan James probably being there too. I think they have lacked sqaud depth and been quite one dimensional in attack.
Ipswich have something special about them since McKenna became their manager. It could all change on the last day but it seems likely that Kieffer Moore will secure his second promotion season.
Will be interesting to see how Broadhead, Burns etc. go next season. Assuming nothing mad happens on the final day.

I'm not particularly interested in whether Leeds 'deserve' to go up (although why you would base that on a single performance, I don't know). I'm interested in what's best for Wales. For me, the two permanent Welsh Ipswich players (Burns and Broadhead) have shown that they're decent Championship players, but I'm not convinced that they'll become decent Prem players. They're at an age where they're not going to improve that much and I can't see them ever becoming first choice players for us, although will be important squad players I'm sure. The two Leeds boys on the other hand are much more important players, and Ampadu is probably our most important player. He also has the quality to do well in the prem imo. He's also had a turbulent club career so far with a lot of lows - three relegations at the age of 23! So I think it would be great for him if he finally makes it with Leeds, and I can really see him kicking on in the prem and becoming an established prem players for the next 10 years. The Ipswich boys, on the other hand, I suspect would struggle to really establish themselves at that level and would probably be back down in a couple of years.

An argument could be made that Dan James has done his best stuff for us when he's flying in the Championship, but obviously the ideal scenario is if he can become a decent prem player. He showed enough early in his spell with Man U, and in patches thereafter, that he can do it at prem level and I think it would be easier for him this time where he'd enter a new prem season with Leeds having shown his value, rather than having to prove his worth - it'll be less pressure. For Ampadu I'm not at all concerned - I think he's a nailed on starter for them in the prem.

Broadhead is really only about 21/22 in terms of career experience and playing time, he's playing catch up and certainly not reached his ceiling. I strongly believe that, based on his attributes and style, Wes Burns will continue to enjoy a decent run of form for the next few years and will be one of those players that probably plays his best football aged 28-33.

Saw more action post match in the car park, witnessed not participated😁 I've watch Leeds at least a dozen times this season - they've been fantastic in some of the games, decent in most, and poor in a few - as you'd expect with any side. I've also watched Ipswich a handful of times - they've been really impressive in some of those games, and average in others (such as the Cardiff game). From what I've seen, the table is a fair reflection of what each of those sides have produced and Ipswich would definitely deserve their promotion. But that's got nothing to do with my point ha! As I say, I think it's better for us that Leeds go up primarily because of Ampadu who would overcome some demons and could really kick on (moreso than the Ipswich lads imo).

I tend to agree, but I'd include Rodon as well in that assessment of which Welsh players would benefit the most from gaining promotion. In any event Ipswich are as good as up, I can't see them losing at home to a hapless Huddersfield.
Hopefully Leeds make it via the playoffs.

Needs a loan in January, another one who’s not getting a look in.
I personally dont think he’s good enough for the PL anyway, so a move down to the ch’ship is needed I think.
Edit: Just saw that Ogbene has suffered whats probably a season ending injury. May be a door opening for Broadhead.
